2052200 tn?1332429084 I did an extensive search and could find no reports of significant long term damage to the brain or the eye from sertraline, or other serotonin reuptake inhibitors, overdose. I doubt that there has been any damage (in the sense that there is a permanent loss of function or destruction of cells). Also, what you are experiencing is not (I think) what we call a hallucination, but rather an illusion.
2052200 tn?1332429084 Hey all, I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment. I did something silly a couple of weeks ago - I overdosed on Zoloft. A couple of days later I started to experience vivid hallucinations and was quite worried.
Avatar f tn after doing so much cocaine and i start getting a headache is the the begining of a overdose
Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.
Avatar n tn it depends how much your friend was consuming before he swallowed? i knew people who would sit and blow a 1/4oz in a sitting it deends on his tolerance.
612551 tn?1450022175 I started Sertraline (Zoloft generic) 6 days ago. I am still testing at a low 25 mg dose. I think I had/have an increase in fatigue, a side effect and can not say I feel any "better". Happily, no serious side effects but the fatigue is also present due to bereavement/grief struggle and that may the main driver for fatigue, Sertraline may eventually reduce that depression-type symptom, fatigue.
Avatar f tn It pauses for a second and then has a really hard beat. I talked with my doctor and he said it might be sertraline im on(been lowered back to 150 mg for the last 5 days). Ever since it’s only increased in frequency. It happens multiple times a day and is very bothersome. Should I be worried about this?
Avatar m tn Potential for serious interaction; regular monitoring by your doctor required or alternate medication may be needed Significant: Potential for significant interaction (monitoring by your doctor is likely required) Minor: Interaction is unlikely, minor, or nonsignificant Here's the results for the meds you're asking about: ZOLOFT AND VICODIN: Significant - Monitor Closely.
Avatar m tn Since you had such a serious reaction to the Sertraline your doctor will look at what may be better for you (make sure you're medication is being prescribed by a psychiatrist). Everything comes with side effects but that doesn't mean each of us will have any. It's truly an individual thing. You may do better on an anxiety medication in place of an AD.
Avatar f tn I hope you come back on and let us know your ok. This can be serious and hope you went to the ER to be safe. I have read about many deaths from someone swalling large amounts, but usually it was a drug dealer that swallowed a few grams so they won't get busted. Hope your safe.
Avatar m tn I went back to my GP and accepted the sertraline prescription. I started low and worked up to 50 mg, after a couple of months I felt really good, almost normal again, the panic was nearly non existent and my mood had evened out. Did not last, we upped me to 100 mg about two months ago and I am still feeling so anxious almost all of the time. Do you think I should try another increase or try another med? Thank you in advance for reading/replying.
3094157 tn?1340937202 Alcohol will increase the likelyhood of you experiencing the side effects of your sertraline and put you at a higher risk of overdose. I imagine the dose you take makes a difference (i.e. the higher the dose the higher the risk, just as the more alcohol you take the higher the risk). Is the standard dose 50mg in the US? I imagine it's the short term side effects you should be more worried about than the long term. Are there any long term side effects listed on the PIL?
Avatar n tn I was being overmedicated by my psychiatrist. I went from taking nothing to taking Klonipin 1mg 3-4x/day, Inderal 10mg 3x/day, and Lamictal. I got up to 150mg of the Lamictal after 7weeks. I had a dangerous and deadly reaction to the Lamictal. I was told to stop it suddenly. My life has been a disaster ever since. I feel I was better before I took all of this stuff. I have been suicidal due to the sudden stop of the meds. Last Saturday i tried to kill myself.
Avatar n tn how much coke estamated for an overdose, ive been doin it for a while too i dont know if i have a brain hemorage or anything too my eyes and head hurts and sometimes its like my limbs go a little numb or feel like they fell asleep, my heart sometimes beats weird to. so what goin on? iam a little scared.
Avatar m tn I went to an urologist and tried different anti-depressant pills like Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Citalopram and also Paroxetine. All of them seem working well in the first week so that I can last more than 10 minutes but after two weeks or more I can only last about 3 minutes which is not very satisfying because these records are achieved after dry masturbation. My penis is very sensitive and when I masturbate using lubrications I can ejaculate even in less than 15 seconds.
899491 tn?1243773627 Read what it says on the prescription label as for a missed dose or call your doctor. If you took 100 mg. more it would be a serious matter. They can advise you how to proceed. If your doctor isn't available speak to your pharmacist.

Avatar f tn Probably not, but see a doctor ASAP just to rule out any serious condition. Most likely you've got some anxiety which drives up the heart rate afterwards (caffeine should be out of the body long time ago), but we can't say for sure. Go to the ER and get this examined.
Avatar n tn m now freaking out again. Muscle twitching is listed as an uncommon serious side effect on some sites. I told my Dr., and he told me to take some magnesium, take 100MG 1 day, and then 50 MG the next day and keep alternating -and don't worry about it. My Dr. did not give me any reason as to why the Zoloft makes my leg muscles twitch, or if it's a normal/harmless side effect. My question is: Is this muscle twitching experienced by other Zoloft users, and will this be permanent?
Avatar n tn which was the dose? did you "overdose" on purpose or was it because you were sick from anything? what do you feel exactly?
