Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.

Avatar f tn In general the low-dose steroidal inhalers and the albuterol sulfate inhalers will not make your asthma worse. Low-dose steroids can make your lungs more susceptible to infection and ocasionally cause adrenal atrophy. These problems are more pronounced with oral steroids. If you don't treat your asthma this puts a strain on the left heart, and over time can cause left heart enlargement, so it is best to keep asthma under control.
Avatar m tn HE PRESCRIBED PENICILLIN FOR 14 DAYS AND GAVE ME A CFC FREE INHALATION AEROSOL SALBUTAMOL SULFATE. IT WORKED A BIT LAST NIGHT. AND TODAY I AM BREATHING BETTER. DONT DISMISS THE PANIC ATTACK AS PART OF THE ONGOOING PROBLEM BECAUSE I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT AS WELL BUT THERE SHOULD BE AN UNDERLYING CAUSE. THIS HAPPENS TO ME FOR ALOT OF YEARS BUT ONCE I HAVE HAD A FEW PUFFS OF THAT BREATHER THEN ALL SEEMS GOOD FOR A LONG TIME. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS COLUMN THIS IS QUITE COMMON.

Avatar n tn Hi all, I am a 21 year old male living in Toronto, Ontario and do not smoke. I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. When I blow my nose, there is a sticky white mucus that comes out. I have been told by the allergist that this is asthma and allergies. I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning.
Avatar f tn I took her to the doctor who prescribed her Salbutamol cough syrup 3.5 mg 3 times a day saying that she has wheezing. Is it safe? It is not releiving the cough at all, already tried for one and half day. It is about the same.
Avatar m tn This can cause bloating of stomach and consequent breathlessness. Check with your doctor for adequate control of asthma. Ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been administered magnesium sulfate to slow down or put off preterm labor? They are planning to give me the magnesium in an IV when I begin to contract and dilate more as I'm only about to be 30 weeks and I have no measurable cervix already and am 1cm dilated. Curious on symptoms/experience of the magnesium, I've read it isn't pleasant and I'm worried.

Avatar m tn About 1 month ago my pain management doctor increased my dosage of morphine sulfate from 10 gm to 30 mg (1 every 12 hours). Shortly after I began taking the 30mg morphine sulfate, I started to develop a slight rash. Over the last week, the rash has become much worse and a real problem. I've been taking over the counter benadryl tabs to get some relief from the rash which is helping a little to relief the itching and rash.
Avatar m tn what would happen if someone took (about) 20 ml of morphine sulfate(concentrated), which is 20 mg per ml? I got some m.s. from someone, and never asked how much was "safe", though, i do realize taking it at all is unsafe unless directed by a doctor. i took this amount yesterday, within a 2 hr period. lastnight i vomitted a lot, was too scared to go to the hospital (another stupid move i know) if i feel good, should i still go to the hospital?
880900 tn?1467270141 I have had deep veinal thrombosis, a couple of TIAs, and severe rheumatoid arthritis (for 24 years). Two years ago, my GP prescribed a salbutamol inhaler. I would maybe need a squirt of salbutamol twice a week, then, but I am now needing to use it about three or four times a day. Could you tell me whether the dyspnea is heart or pulmonary system related, or has it to do with the RA? How should it be treated? Thanks so much for your help!
Avatar f tn I had stridor 7 hours ago and rushed to hospital as I cannot have salbutamol. I had adrenaline IM and also nebulised. 7 Hours later my heart rate is still sitting at 120 at rest and I have tingling in my fingers and hands, waves on pain in my left chest (that I had at hospital nothing showed on ecg), and short of breath. Should I be worried????
Avatar m tn The result was non reactive. I inhale sometimes salbutamol because I have asthma. Do you think it can alter the result of the test?

Avatar n tn Flovent inhaler contains steroids and is given to prevent an attack of asthma. Ventolin inhalers contain the active ingredient salbutamol, which is a type of medicine known as a short-acting beta 2 agonist. This is given when a person actually has an attack of Asthma, and is referred to as an ‘escape inhaler’. It would be good to have it with you, handy to use it when you need it. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.
