I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.

In the last year she has had her thyroid dosage upped three times. ANd when she went to the alergist Dr. for her check up, he said that her lung function improved to the point that he cut her dosage of Advair in half.

Ask him/her if you should also take pills to help you breathe, either SINGULAiRor something similar once in 24hr, and the inhaler. You should also have a rescue inhaler such as ALBUTEROL and use that only in emergency. I have posted a large post re: asthma and all, please read them, hope it will help you. Again do not overuse your inhalers. Keep an air cleaning machine in your home to filter out 99% of all polutants, you can get one for about $60.00 at K-mart or Sears. They help.

i am 29 years old and have asthma for which i take 100 mg of qvar 2puffs twice daily. for the last 4 days my heart is beating very very fast, it will not slow down, it is waking me up from my sleep and is really getting me down. i went to a&e and had a chest x-ray, and it was fine. then i had an ecg and that came back fine apart from my high heart race. my blood pressure was high but then was taken again immediately after and was deemed o.k.

I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning. During bouts of coughing, I have tried taking my ratio-salbutamol puffer but it doesn't seem to help. Over the years I have tried a variety of puffers to no avail. Since we are now at the end of November it seems as if most of my allergic triggers are gone, so it seems to rule out an allergic cause.

up the Synthroid even though while on Armour I did not prove to be good at converting, Switch to 1/2 grain of Armour (I'm still frightened by Armour due to my previous experience) or add 5 mcg or generic Cytomel which is the route I took. Just started the Lio today and have no great immediate expectations (I'm a bit nervous about it as well since I turn out to be so drug sensitive).

I am not really familiar with aerocort, but I did do a little research on it. Aerocort appears to be a combination inhaled corticosteroid (ICS - as indicated by the "cort" in its name) and salbutamol (a long acting broncho dilater). I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??

bronchodilators and caffeine in tea are both stimulants and cause a rise in heart rate - when you combine them you may get even more of a response (called syngery) then you would see from either of them alone. You could try drinking herbal teas that are caffeine free and this help stop that affect.

Some GI docs are not comfortable prescribing the rescue meds such as Neupogen and Procrit and take the route of reducing the treatment meds instead. My doc was one of them that told me up front that he was not comfortable giving rescue meds and that he would reduce my treatment meds if my counts got too low. I didn't like the sound of that so I got him to get a hematologist on board that would treat me with the rescue meds if it was necessary. Fortunately, I did not require rescue meds.

Before I go to bed on those days when attacks are likely for me I take 2 puffs of salbutamol and it has reduced attacks in those months when i have remembered to take the spray.

I had stridor 7 hours ago and rushed to hospital as I cannot have salbutamol. I had adrenaline IM and also nebulised. 7 Hours later my heart rate is still sitting at 120 at rest and I have tingling in my fingers and hands, waves on pain in my left chest (that I had at hospital nothing showed on ecg), and short of breath. Should I be worried????

The result was non reactive. I inhale sometimes salbutamol because I have asthma. Do you think it can alter the result of the test?

Hi Everyone. I joined this forum because i'm starting to face the reality that my anxiety is too much for me to overcome alone. I'm driving myself crazy and those around me crazy. I'm always over analyzing everything and just feel like anxiety is getting the best of me. I've put off taking meds on a consistent basis because I don't want to be reliant on meds to be 'normal'. But, i'm tired of this craziness ruining my life.
