Avatar n tn Ask him/her if you should also take pills to help you breathe, either SINGULAiRor something similar once in 24hr, and the inhaler. You should also have a rescue inhaler such as ALBUTEROL and use that only in emergency. I have posted a large post re: asthma and all, please read them, hope it will help you. Again do not overuse your inhalers. Keep an air cleaning machine in your home to filter out 99% of all polutants, you can get one for about $60.00 at K-mart or Sears. They help.
Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.
Avatar f tn I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??
Avatar n tn Understand your predicament. Flovent inhaler contains steroids and is given to prevent an attack of asthma. Ventolin inhalers contain the active ingredient salbutamol, which is a type of medicine known as a short-acting beta 2 agonist. This is given when a person actually has an attack of Asthma, and is referred to as an ‘escape inhaler’. It would be good to have it with you, handy to use it when you need it. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am a 21 year old male living in Toronto, Ontario and do not smoke. I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. When I blow my nose, there is a sticky white mucus that comes out. I have been told by the allergist that this is asthma and allergies. I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning.
Avatar n tn Hi, my GP has changed my meds today from seravent, becotide and salbutamol to Symbicort turbohaler. I have never used a turbohaler before and am finding it really hard to "suck" the drug into me! I have read the instructions and followed them to the letter but it just seems really difficult to suck through. Is this normal? or could the turbohaler be faulty? Also does it matter if i hear 2 clicks when loading? Please help as really need it to work!
Avatar m tn I think you are lucky that your salbutamol is working , palpitation is its side effects, leave it

Avatar m tn This can cause bloating of stomach and consequent breathlessness. Check with your doctor for adequate control of asthma. Ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar f tn she told me that i should focus on treating my asthma so i nebulized on that visit and prescribed me a inhaler. i felt the relief but my cough and breathing is still bad. and started using my inhaler. after a few days that i was using inhaler I still feel the same it gave me a little relief but i was still feeling sick and tired and the cough is still bad. so i went to visit her again and i was on my third week with the cough and cold and asthma.
Avatar f tn My breathing became difficult again gradually and my doctor put me on a steroid inhaler (Clenil Modulite). This seemed to do the trick, used in conjunction with my blue inhaler (Salbutamol). I had small flare ups, but could generally control my asthma. Then I got a lung and water infection and this triggered my asthma. I had another flare up which got worse, to the point of having another attack on Sunday 14th June and had to go back to the emergency room.
Avatar f tn 362 (Actual) 359 (Predicted) I suffer from asthma (have for many years but always controlled) and use a serotin 250mg inhaler twice a day and salbutamol when required, however I have had 3 nasty chest infections in the last 3 months and I am now feeling breathless (hence the spirometry tests) a lot of the time and have tightness in my chest (like my chest is in a vice).
880900 tn?1467270141 I have had deep veinal thrombosis, a couple of TIAs, and severe rheumatoid arthritis (for 24 years). Two years ago, my GP prescribed a salbutamol inhaler. I would maybe need a squirt of salbutamol twice a week, then, but I am now needing to use it about three or four times a day. Could you tell me whether the dyspnea is heart or pulmonary system related, or has it to do with the RA? How should it be treated? Thanks so much for your help!
Avatar m tn This is the worst part of my emphysema. As soon as I wake I have to use my inhaler (Airomir, Salbutamol) I have tried sleeping sitting up, but as I go off I get a chocking sensation, Has any one solved this problem?
Avatar m tn Hi, I'd see your doc for a look/see and PFT testing to see what's going on. You may need an albuterol and/or steroidal inhaler and the PFT tests will help determine what's going on. May be inflammation and night is when it rears its ugly head sometimes :( Keep us posted and WELCOME! Also --- croup can happen with a sharp change of temp. It's tricky so the PFT is extremely beneficial for your Dr.
Avatar f tn and my med is flovent hfa 250mcg (orange inhaler, 2 puffs twice a day), the other is [apo-salvent cfc free] salbutamol 100mcg (2 puffs/4 hours as needed. up to 4 times a day(.
Avatar f tn when you have asthma its because youre tubes are smaller than normal and so its harder for you to breathe normallly since theres not as much space for air to get through. The steroid inhaler helps to prevent these from getting any smaller, because exercise, pollution, smoking and passive smoking all make them smaller and harder for you to breathe.
Avatar m tn I currently take Gabapentin, Lansoprazole, Laxido Sachets, Magnesium, Lidocaine Cream and recently added is Morphine (MST) and Salbutamol Inhaler. I am at the maximum dose of Gabapentin for the nerve pain and I am currently waiting for a specialist appointment with a neurologist. Since taking Morphine my asthma has flaired which has resulted in me taking alot of my reliever inhaler which has worsened my sleep, anxiety and caused muscle tension/cramps.
Avatar n tn Vital capacity was 104% of predicted whereas the ratio between FEV1 and FVC was 69. After 200mcg of Salbutamol inhaler his FEV1 improved by 270 ml indicating some reversibility so overall my clinical impression if that his cough could be secondary to hypersensitive airways plus/minus mild asthma.'' He was prescribed Symbicort Turbuhaler 200/6 one puff twice a day. This was back in September.

Avatar n tn I just went to the doctor, most likely viral bronchitis and he gave me an expectorant, and an inhaler (Salbutamol). The problem is that I am suposed to fly to South Africa on Monday and compete in a 3 day mountain bike race starting wednesday. The days will be very demanding and I am worried how my lungs will perform, moreover are there any possible short and long term effects. I feel totally fine.
