Common Questions and Answers about Salbutamol medicine

Avatar n tn I would ask for a methacholine challenge test that will give a yes/no answer of whether you have asthma. Also, ask your doctor to watch you use your inhaler, I found out I was using mine wrong and it really cuts down on the medicine you get into your lungs (the medicine "works" 10 times better now that I'm using the inhaler properly). You may have a mold allergy as well as the trees.
Avatar n tn Flovent inhaler contains steroids and is given to prevent an attack of asthma. Ventolin inhalers contain the active ingredient salbutamol, which is a type of medicine known as a short-acting beta 2 agonist. This is given when a person actually has an attack of Asthma, and is referred to as an ‘escape inhaler’. It would be good to have it with you, handy to use it when you need it. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.
Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.

Avatar n tn I went to my family doctor with the complaint of producing more sputum than normal for 3 years. I thought there might be something wrong with my lungs. However, I have no breathing problems. The doctor said that he was listening to my lungs with a stethoscope and that he was fine and said I don't need an X-ray. But he gave me the nasal spray medicine. When I said that there was no change after 1 week, he prescribed different drugs.
1344892 tn?1276541735 i did take my salbutamol reliever inhaler when this first happened but found it made me feel worse. i have not taken my reliever for 3 days now. please help me i am feeling really unwell. thank you.
Avatar f tn You cannot be addicted to this medicine. You have a chronic disease and this medicine keeps your lungs open so that you can breathe. It is necessary for you to live. It will not harm you in any way. Oral steroids do have adverse side effects, but the significantly lower doses of steroids in ICS's and the fact that they go directly into the lungs where they are used keeps the steroids out of your system, and therefore they don't have side effects.
Avatar m tn can i give salbutamol in 1st trimister thretened abortion?
Avatar m tn Singulair 10mg tablets contain the active ingredient montelukast, which is a type of medicine known as a leukotriene receptor antagonist. You may need regular inhaled corticosteroids and short-acting beta agonist such as salbutamol, to relieve your symptoms. Nebulization may help. Sometimes, steroids may be needed to control the symptoms. Would advise you to consult your doctor at the earliest for evaluation and therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn It's April now and I had a cough since December. Since December my cough has remained and I've gotten sick 3 times with the cough never leaving even tho the other cold/flu symptoms left. In april I had a chest xray that came back negative. I've done a course of azithromysin that didn't work and I'm not on salbutamol but that seemed to cause more phlem. The salbutimal made the cough not as strong but also made me cough more often. Why won't my cough go away?

Ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
1570941 tn?1295664225 Headache mouth and throat irritation, tremors and bronchospasm are possible side effects of salbutamol or ventolin. It is possible that your symptoms are related to the increased dosage of this medication. It is best to discontinue it at this time and check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Rest, ice packs and prescription medicine from your doctor may help. Take care and do keep us posted.
880900 tn?1467270141 I have had deep veinal thrombosis, a couple of TIAs, and severe rheumatoid arthritis (for 24 years). Two years ago, my GP prescribed a salbutamol inhaler. I would maybe need a squirt of salbutamol twice a week, then, but I am now needing to use it about three or four times a day. Could you tell me whether the dyspnea is heart or pulmonary system related, or has it to do with the RA? How should it be treated? Thanks so much for your help!
Avatar f tn I had stridor 7 hours ago and rushed to hospital as I cannot have salbutamol. I had adrenaline IM and also nebulised. 7 Hours later my heart rate is still sitting at 120 at rest and I have tingling in my fingers and hands, waves on pain in my left chest (that I had at hospital nothing showed on ecg), and short of breath. Should I be worried????
Avatar m tn The result was non reactive. I inhale sometimes salbutamol because I have asthma. Do you think it can alter the result of the test?
