Avatar f tn Got a friend that recently experienced this and she is in slow labour. When in slow labour you can last until your due date. If you get any of these signs. Talk to your midwife and get some bed rest.
6520484 tn?1399082398 Hey ladies. I'm high risk for preterm labour and now that I'm in the third trimester everything new that I feel is scary. I know I'm probably just freaking myself out. So any ladies who went into preterm labour, what were some of the signs before it happened?
Avatar n tn I instantly knew that feeling and rushed into the hospital and when they looked to see if I had dilated at all the membranes were showing and I was fully dilated. This was at 11am and I was in labour until I had my son Archie the next day at 5pm. As soon as I feel the tightening’s I feel as if, if I pushed the baby would come right out. I feel like I have the contractions because it’s my body trying to fight against my mind trying not to let them come out.
Avatar f tn The doctors will try to do everything in their power to keep the baby inside you. You have to get shots in your bum. That will help the baby's lungs develop. They go over the survival rates of having a premature baby. I had two ultrasounds. You're hooked up to baby heart rate monitors and all kinds of machines. You're not allowed to get out of bed.not even to pee. You can't eat or drink. I had four different ivs. They come in and do blood work every couple hours.
Avatar f tn i too was in the hospital for preterm labor..i was having contraction every 2-3 mins and was dialated to 1-2 cm..they gave me a shot of brethine and continued to monitor me and my contractions went from 2-3mins to 5-6mins and then they had slowed down enough that i could go home..im hoping she can wait another 6 weeks before i have her..just hang in there and take it easy..keep your feet up as much as possible..

Avatar f tn m in a similar situation. Battling preterm labour since 27wks, now 33wks, just trying to hold on til a csection at 36wks. Unfortunately those steroid shots are only good for 10days and you have to have them at least 24hrs before delivery to be effective so I'll be going in for my 6th hospital admission before I deliver. Sure makes for an uncomfortable pregnancy. But at least we are on the count down now and we have put in a mammoth effort to get our babies this far! Hang in there!
Avatar f tn Hi im 28 weeks and was sent to Nottingham hospital when I was 25 weeks because I went in to preterm labour they managed to stop it by putting me on a drip and giving me 2 steroid injections im back home now but im still having the pains so my question is because I'm still having these pains do you think I will go full term or will I have baby early?
Avatar f tn Hey there, im 31 weeks pregnant and im very scared of the risk of preterm labour. My baby is already in the birth position with his head down. Im not sure if its my mucus plug but every time i go pee there is mucusy stuff when i wipe like its gooey white and clear stuff. The baby is healthy and constantly moving and I've had a very normal pregnancy I've had every symptom and no issues. I haven't had any contractions that i know of. Am i worrying to much?
Avatar f tn Im 24+5 i just been having some cramps no bleeding and really bad lower back pain my doc said i might be in preterm labour but he isnt sure im so confused im a ftm this is all new to me
Avatar f tn Had preterm labour contractions at 32 weeks and doctor managed to stop it and since that i am in bed rest and taking Duvadilan 10 mg tablets for cramps. Now i am 36 weeks and doctor said to stop taking tablet. Is there a possibility of getting labour pain soon after stopping Duvadilan tablet.
Avatar f tn It depends on the reason if any she went into pre term labour, there are complications that are hereditary that can cause pre term labour but pre term labour itself is not hereditary :)
Avatar f tn I had my first at 24 weeks from this and have been in labour at 29 weeks with this one (doctors were sure it wasn't sex until then) However if we have sex with him pulling out before then I do not go into labour.
561393 tn?1320962815 Looking at your history your doctors should give you good explaination regarding preterm labours.. alot of women having preterm labour usually get a stitch in 2nd trimester to make sure water doesnt break.. it could be possible that you might go into labour however if you should stay in complete bed rest and also i have heard women being dilated upto 2cm and going full term.. just try and relax and drink plenty of water so you dont catch any kind of infection..
1021301 tn?1275310290 Hi, I am 14wks pregnant and have been experiencing a fishy odor after sex. From what I read on internet, I'm sure it's Baterial Vaginosis. I have mentioned this to my doctor and he reckons unless I have itching, irritation etc. it's not that serious and don't need to be treated for it. He also says that my mucous plug will keep it away from baby so I've nothing to worry about. But I also read it can cause preterm labour and complications.
Avatar m tn That what i just had and I'm 33 weeks and i went to hosp and was having bad contractions, now I'm on strict bedrest for preterm labor, i would go to l&d just in case!!!! You never know.
Avatar f tn I went into preterm labor at 25w due to a kidney infection they were able to stop if and I ended up delivering at 35 weeks. He was in NICU 5 days.
11356079 tn?1421357818 d and talk them through how your feeling and they may be able to tell you what to do. But my preterm labour felt no different to my full term labour in regards to how painful.it is.
Avatar f tn m still pregnant. My dr told me a risk factor for preterm labour is a previous preterm delivery however it absolutely depends on why you went into preterm labour. Talk to your dr and maybe develop a plan to manage any risks if you're worried. Good luck!
Avatar f tn ve heard of ladies going into preterm labour due to things such as strenuous exercise, falls, food poisoning, and laxetives. I went into preterm labour at 34wks due to a stomach bug but luckily it stopped once they got my vomiting and diarrhea under control.
Avatar f tn i went to the hospital and they said i was in preterm labour and could have bub anytime...i had also dilated 1.4cm. They gave me 2 injections of steriods to mature the baby lungs incase i was to go into labour. i was 30weeks pregnant at the time. The docs just said to take it easy and rest heaps.
