Avatar f tn I took her to the doctor who prescribed her Salbutamol cough syrup 3.5 mg 3 times a day saying that she has wheezing. Is it safe? It is not releiving the cough at all, already tried for one and half day. It is about the same.
Avatar f tn U do not classify asthma only by wheezing or cough. Carry out a pulmonary function test and a chest x-ray. Tell your doctor that salbutamol is not helping.
Avatar n tn I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. When I blow my nose, there is a sticky white mucus that comes out. I have been told by the allergist that this is asthma and allergies. I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning.
Avatar n tn I have been splitting up lite green phlegm for the last two months. I was told by a non medical friend to not use any over the counter drugs because this might supress the secretions that need to come out naturally? Could he have a valid point of view and what do you recommend? This discussion is related to Uncontrollable Phlegm.
Avatar f tn It's April now and I had a cough since December. Since December my cough has remained and I've gotten sick 3 times with the cough never leaving even tho the other cold/flu symptoms left. In april I had a chest xray that came back negative. I've done a course of azithromysin that didn't work and I'm not on salbutamol but that seemed to cause more phlem. The salbutimal made the cough not as strong but also made me cough more often. Why won't my cough go away?
Avatar f tn Hi. I had this cough for almost three weeks now, it started with just a simple cold and turned to an all out asthma attack. Which is not new for me. I have asthma and I only have attacks when I caught a flu or cold and I usually just drink salbutamol cough syrup and it would go away after a few days. But now I had it for 3 weeks. and the doctor told me to start using an inhaler twice a day. Then I was told to take ventollin expectorant I took it but nothings happening to my cough.
Avatar n tn His cough didn’t improve and so eventually he stopped taking these. He continued having the cough and in 2014 we paid for a CT scan, just to check things were ok. We were worried about asbestos as we know he has worked in buildings containing it. The CT scan showed up some scars, granulomas and a raised left hemi diaphragm. He mentioned this to his GP, but he didn’t do anything about it.

Avatar f tn i have a lot of things i need to attend to and it is affected by this asthma and cough. and this was the first time that i had an asthma with cough for more than a month and it is also the first time that i used an inhaler my whole life. i'm already 22. and usually i don't get sick. and this is the first time that i got so effing sick that i can't go out even in our garden. i really want to know what caused this and what i can do and if this is gonna be what my life is like.
Avatar m tn When I have otherwise recovered from colds, a cough can persist for weeks. I saw a doctor about this twice during the last year. Seems a difficult thing to 'diagnose'. Any thoughts much appreciated. At the end of the day, I just feel 'constricted' in the upper airways, and my breathing feels strained/laboured. Thanks all.
Avatar n tn Occasionally (3-5 times per day) I have had a very deep cough and I cough up a lot of phlegm from my lungs. I have had this for over 3 weeks now. In hindsight I probably did not heal because I have been training and not resting. I would ride 1 day, cough up a lot of phlegm and not feel great the next day, wait 2-3 days, feel just fine again and get back to training. Since it is winter, sweating in the cold air probably didn’t help much either.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctors, I had bronchitis for roughly a month (I procrastinated with hoping it would resolve itself). He gave me antiobitocs, mucinex, allergy meds (As a precaution, he thought it may have been caused by this but I doubt it, never had an allergy in my life), cough syrup and an inhaler. Now this inhaler is a Qvar,40 mcg of beclomethasone. It says take it twice a day. This was prescribed for what I assume to be my shortness of breathe that I was having very very often.
Avatar m tn With my COPD mornings are the toughest for me. I will cough feeling like I have mucus in my chest. But, very little if any mucus comes up. It usually though will pass for me about half an hour or so after waking up. Some mornings are just worse than other mornings. Some mornings I will hardly have the cough and the mucus. But, I do understand the shortness of breath. That is part of my day all day long. I am not on oxygen, as we lost our health insurance last year.

Avatar f tn I got Amoxillin and Paracetamol but it did not help much. My cough has subsided for a while but I still have a hack now and again. My chest also developed a wheeze that is not causing discomfort but is still a nuisance. I am now on Salbutamol and Erythromycin. Hopefully this can remedy my symptoms. But are there any other reasons why I have wheeze and a lingering cough? Appreciate the input.

Avatar n tn I'm 40 years old. I have had asthma since childhood - mild (occasional salbutamol) until about 10 years ago, then a little worse. Preventer inhaler as well as occasional ventolin - very rarely had symptoms. I smoked socially from age 20 (3-4 cigarettes each day - not underestimating!) until about 9 months ago - no further smoking. My breathing has become a little more difficult, is so for most of the time, and is worst in the morning.
Avatar m tn can i give salbutamol in 1st trimister thretened abortion?
Avatar f tn ve only had the one a week). and I have had past asthma attacks like this, where for a few weeks I just cough every couple of minutes.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??
Avatar n tn I really think you should ask for an echocardiogram, stress test and an event monitor that is worn for either 24 hours or an entire week. If the pain is related to your heart, then it will surely show up in at least one of these tests. If all these test have good results, then I would suggest seeing a chiropractor, you may have some pinched nerves in your mid to upper back causing the pain.
