That being said, the above is true, but vitamins usually have way more that anyone needs in them so a little deterioration in potency isn't that big a deal depending on why you're taking them. After all, much of them just goes down the toilet anyway, so again, a margin of safety is built in there, too.
By the way, a friend of mine is a teacher. She had started a new medication for her mental health issues and unfortunately, had a psychotic break at school. She walked herself to the office knowing she needed to be away from her classroom. She'd called her husband to meet her who came immediately. They talked the principal and she left and her husband drove her to the emergency room. She took the next day off of work and they were getting her meds corrected.
Is she still in the hospital or home now? If she is home and you are in the US, a social worker or case worker can arrange for her to go to an assisted living center for rehab. Once you go home, this cannot be done unless you are admitted again per Medicare rules. Then to set up services on your own costs a lot of money (usually out of pocket).
Well, it certainly should help him fall asleep sooner - which may be her idea. It sounds like you have researched this pretty well. I don't think our opinion is going to matter much to your ex. I think you will need to find a professional for that.
