4268628 tn?1375041176 Just curious if anyone else in here is a musician. I'm playing in out community band and am struggling and questioning if I should even be playing until after the baby is borne.I am 16 w. Doc said it was ok for as long as I am comfortable. My issue is not breath support, but prego brain in just reading music....like level 3 music, not even level 4 or 5. I'm so frustrated. I love music and normally this music would be minimally challenging.
Avatar f tn ve heard that somewhat soft and slower music is better, particularly harmonious, soothing music, like guitar, violin, piano, classical. Its recommended to avoid anything harsh or brash or discordant or startling. Its also strongly recommended not to use headphones or music directly against your belly as that amplifies sounds too loudly. I'd think bluegrass or country would be fine. I do a lot of classical or soft folksy stuff myself.
Avatar f tn My husband and I are musicians so she definitely listens to music lol. She listens to just about everything. She likes music, she moves around when she hears it.
Avatar f tn I had a rough nite, rough morning so iwalked an hour and still no relief so i found a music channel on the tv and i am currently jamming out to the 90's singing and dancing around my family room cleaning and looking like a total fool and i dont care. but it made me remember who i was, i found out that i used to love music and it gave me the happy adrenalin rush i needed and i feel lots better. So dont just sit there DO SOMETHING that's going to make you happy and MOVE.
Avatar m tn I know the feeling, but I usually listen to either my CD of a violinist, of course I can't remember his name, but he is just wonderful.............. Or my CD (with headphones is the best) of ocean sounds. I pretend I'm riding my big beautiful white horse up and down the beaches..............makes my heart feel good!!!! Okay, am I gonna have to travel up there and take that axe handle away from you before you go out and do damage? I'm sending you hugs to help ease your anger...
Avatar f tn m relatively sure this was caused by holding and carrying a heavy violin case in that hand (walking several blocks, frequently), as well as probably overworking as a violinist. (bow arm, right hand) After speaking with two hand surgeons, I was told that it was a secondary artery and it could easily be removed. Hmm.... no thanks! One surgeon had seen the issue before and said it would either stay the same or get worse.
1748105 tn?1314473206 I was just wondering if anyone had any info or experience regarding this situation. I should add that I am a professional violinist, so protecting my arms is vital.
220090 tn?1379167187 I once saw a famous Israeli woman violinist interviewed; she was asked what was her favorite music to play. She replied without hesitation that it was the Brahms Violin Concerto in D minor. She said the notes were so perfect that they must have been written by God. I didn't know what she meant, but now I do.
Avatar f tn The single vision glasses that were prescribed only correct the distance vision to about 20/200. The computer and music glasses (I am a keyboardist and violinist) only correct that distance to about 20/100. The CME is not completely resolved but I will only know how much exactly until the next OCT is done.At this point I have no idea how much of my visual difficulties have to do with the CME and how much with the Restor lens.
Avatar m tn I am a professional violinist and recently developed an essential tremor in my bow arm which interferes greatly with my playing. My neurologist tried primidone but it has helped only a little. I asked if he could put me on Inderal which I understand can help with essential tremor. However -- the doctor pointed out that I am already on lisinopril (for hypertension) which, he claimed, ALSO is effective in treating essential tremor.
Avatar f tn more important is, I am diagnosed last year that my neck bone degenerate at C5 and C6..and I am a violin player.. in the past 12 months, every time I practice my instrument I gotta rest for two days after that in order to play again without neck pain, headache and stiff muscles of my whole back. Should I gradually stop practicing my instrument? Desperate..
220090 tn?1379167187 In line with your comment about strings, I notice it mostly on classical music and particularly those with the poingant violin solo. My CD of Scheherazade never seems to live up to my childhood memories. All you said makes perfect sense to me, now.
Avatar f tn I came out of town for one day only like 3hours away and I feel so sad because I miss my fiance.. I normally wouldn't feel this way But I want to go home. I am getting sad just thinking im sleeping alone..
Avatar f tn U know what I've noticed- the music i listened to alot during my other detoxes are essentially ruined for me. i can no longer enjoy them because they immediately bring me back to that terrible time and all that i was feeling. jeez- psychosocial is ruined for me forever (ibkleen may actually find this a blessing). does anyone have suggestions for kinda good bad music i cam listen to and i won't be sad to lose forever - Justin brieber or some other sad sack. no country please.
Avatar f tn Just curious, and since virtually everyone loves music, what is you're fav. Music genre? Fav bands? Fav songs? I personally love heavy metal, love bands like Slipknot, Mudvayne, Pantera, Lamb of God..etc. However I love classic rock, Queen, Bad co. Kansas, etc. I'm also in love with Amy Lee (from Evanescence) voice. Love that band.. yes, I have a soft side lol.
Avatar f tn m about to get upset, I will go for a drive and listen to music to calm myself. Sometimes you have to separate yourself from the situation to gain composure. Whatever it is that helps you relax, whether it is music, reading, driving, taking a bath, do that whenever you feel things are going to explode. Find some peace, let your heart stop racing, rub your stomach and let your baby know everything is okay, then once you two have calmed down then continue the conversation (if need be).
Avatar f tn Its my third day off vicodin... Honestly I was told that music can be a great comfort.. I thought NO WAY...Well, I'm feeling like crap so TRYING IT really couldn't hurt right? Well I'm listening to Aaron Neville and believe it or not...
9309926 tn?1405447056 So I'm folding clothes listening to music an i just want to cry. For no reason really I just got the feeling to cry....
Avatar f tn Just scream.. I'm totally not eve kidding grab a pillow or turn up music and just scream you will not even believe how much it helps!
1096392 tn?1257311240 I'm a 20 year old female and I got into a nasty car accident 5 months ago where I shattered my pelvis, fractured my femur, and tore my aorta clean in half. All of those things have been resolved, however I have had a coordination issue with my left hand since the accident. I've done a lot of research and only found information on conditions that had pain, numbness or tingling as symptoms, and my doctors have no clue what is going on.
Avatar f tn I've become absolutly engrossed in music In my last 5 months clean. But it doesn't make me think of my pills. Some songs make me feel guilt of the things i had done, some caused grief in the things I've missed out on,some cause love because they remind me of my husband, some cause sadness because they remind me of someone I lost but didn't have the emotions at the time to grieve for them because I was high. The music makes me hate the pills more but never love them.
Avatar n tn My hubby was deployed for most of my first pregnancy. Our son was 8 weeks when they pulled back into port. It was very rough especially since I was high risk and our son spent time in nicu but having my friends and family helped a lot! Lots of people will ask dumb questions like don't you miss him, etc. Don't let them get to you! Keep busy and write emails, letters go shopping for random stuff to put in care packages and time will fly by! Good luck!
Avatar m tn There is still a small amount of pain, but I am very aware of how much strength I am losing in my finger. I am due to start a Masters in university playing violin in 5 weeks so need to start rehabilitation of the finger as soon as possible, but don't want to further injure the finger.
Avatar m tn I think you are talking about those cords which can occur if one or more lymph nodes were removed. These are scar tissue, or more specifically, fibroid lymphatic vessels. i have been asking a lot of questions and this is the best answer I have received. curiously, it appears that this never used to be a problem in the past much but is a fairly new development. The worst case my PT has ever seen was in a woman who only had one lymph node removed. I have it as well and these come and go.
Avatar f tn Try to get with fam or friends.I listen to music also. But this app helps me a lot for this reason you feel bad or sad even if you got questions its always someone on here to chat with, its so helpful just keep posting and being interactive.a lot of these moms are great!
