Avatar f tn Hello, From your symptoms,it sounds like tendonitis but ligament injury also needs to be ruled out. Tendonitis is an inflammation of tendon. The inflammation is caused by activities involving repetitive use of the tendon, overuse of the tendon or trauma. Apply cold compresses on the ankle and give rest to the part. Also keep the part elevated and use casts or splints.Take some over the counter anti inflammatory pain killer like diclofenac and apply some topical muscle relaxant on the ankle.
155639 tn?1251738603 I took a few days off running and ran only one day the next week. I supplemented spinning classes for my cardio. I had a indepth sports massage on the area. I also went to my podiatrist who confirmed that it was an achilles issue but not a severe one. I have a lift in the shoe where I am having this problem. The one issue that I am really concerned about is the creaking feeling I will feel when moving my foot. This feeling has improved but is still there.
1017324 tn?1390936445 Over-straining the foot as in running could be the cause. Foot pain can also be due to arthritis. Faulty foot wear is another cause: the top portion of the foot could be rubbing against the shoes. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
97615 tn?1212678589 This is located below the ankle bone on the outside of the foot but closer to the bottom of the foot than to the ankle bone. I have seen a chiropractor for an adjustment that did not work. I have seen a podiatrist that said I have tendonitis and gave me a corticosteroid shot. It had no effect. I will not do that again. I can run on it and have no other pain. There is only this electric shock sensation while flexing. Please help!!
Avatar m tn It might be the meniscus, it might be patella tendonitis, it might be just a strain. When I hurt my knee the first time, it happened running, and I gotta tell you, I still haven't gotten a definite diagnosis of it, it can be tricky. I've been told it was a sprain, tendonitis, a torn meniscus, and shoulder shrugs.
Avatar f tn I did the anti inflammatories, icing, rest, return to running slowly... etc. The pain persisted. The pain hurts when I run for longer than 5 minutes and hurts the duration of the run, and continues hurting the whole day. I had a bone scan and MRI done. THe MRI concluded there were no stress fractures (which surprised me because my pain is very localized--just a two inch patch on my mid tibia that hurt to the palpitated touch). The bone scan showed activity and inflammation in my knee and ankle.
Avatar f tn Xray and ultrasound showed plantar fasciitis, tendonitis and heel spur. I still suffer with tight band around foot. Burning sensation and pain in foot. This is 7 months after operation. Horrible. No-one has offered me an explanation or help to fix problem.
Avatar m tn m keeping my foot angled. I am also starting to develop pain in the bottom of my foot behind the toe joints. I called last Friday to request an appt with a specialist but due to the holiday they were closed, and their message also states that referrals take 72 hours to happen. I'm sure it will eventually but this is getting to be a real problem as I've already missed out on a few activities that I had planned (football game, etc) because I just can't be on my feet that long..
1114793 tn?1258730647 My husband has had chronic foot pain for 2 years. He is flat footed and has been so since he was a child. He wears orthotic inserts, but only since he began getting foot pain (he thought it might help). The pain began in Oct or Nov of 2007, and he doesn't remember ever injuring it. He said it began hurting (very slightly) as he was running down a stairwell, but doesn't remember twisting or rolling it. It began hurting severely a few days later, and hasn't stopped hurting since.
Avatar f tn I had a mri done that showed I have tendonitis in my left shoulder. I can't raise my left arm up very high which makes washing my hair or brushing it extremely hard. I know I have bulging disc in c5 and c6 with nerve root damage in both. I could raise my arm before they found the tendonitis tho. I can't reach behind me with it either. It just won't move. This has added to the severe pain I already had. I am currently taking hydrocodone apap and zoloft as my meds.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago, the other side hurt after running. It was hurting in the morning and then got better. Now, the pain is pretty much gone, but my legs are heavy and tingling somewhat below the knee. (not in a line down from the back, JUST below the knee.) Should I just wait to see what will happen or should I seek medical attention. (I'd rather wait...) J.D.
Avatar n tn About two years ago I was diagnosed with patellar tendonitis as a result of running to much too soon. Now I am trying to get back into walking and running, I've started walking on a treadmill 4 miles a day (no running) and at the same time trying to stretch and strengthen my quads. I do wall squats and I push it, but don't bend the knee too much. The activity aggrivates the condition. My knee feels week, but no pain.
338416 tn?1420045702 s quite foot drop yet, but I certainly have to *think* about lifting my foot up. They make a foot brace that would hold my foot up, but it's plastic and clunky. I don't think I would have started running again if it wasn't for the weight. I get so frustrated, because I'm really trying to restrict my calories, and it doesn't do a bit of good. Working out on the trainer was exercise, but it just wasn't enough. I'm starting to wonder if I have a thyroid problem.
Avatar f tn He suggested I might have diabetes but the blood work showed Vit d deficiency. Can this cause neuropathy? I also have stiff joints and have had calcific tendonitis this year. Is this all connected? Thanks for your help. I feel I need a more holistic approach rather than seeing a neurologist, rheumatologist and endocrinologist separately! ( as well as a shoulder specialist or the calcific tendonitis!

778480 tn?1235826812 I have been struggling with Achilles tendonitis for a few months, after a high ankle sprain and a possible slight tear in the tendon, although this has never been confirmed. I am under the care of a Ortho, M.D. and have had some physical therapy There is not much if any pain involved anymore but there is still a good amount of thickness through the achilles tendon compared to the normal looking tendon on my other calf. My question is, eventually does this thickness go away?
Avatar f tn I've been to an orthopedic twice now. He diagnosed me with patellar tendonitis, or jumper's knee. It hurts just to walk on it, and whenever I'm reading online, I see to rest it and discontinue any activity that aggravates the knee or causes pain. I was curious whether I should be using crutches or not, I just don't want to make it worse. The orthopedic didn't say anything about it, and just gave me a NSAID cream to put on it for the swelling and what-not.
Avatar n tn You can change the way you play, stand and apply pressure on the back of your foot by some corrections in your foot play. With these corrections you will no longer put that pressure on the back of your foot. Selecting footwear is very important for you knowing the flat foot you have, take the help of a specialist in selecting the footwear, take care!
Avatar f tn My foot drop started with a foot injury (insertional peroneus brevis tendonitis) in April 2016 that made me walk incorrectly and caused lower back pain. I was in terrible pain in May 2016. I fell 3xs before I realized there was anything wrong with my foot gait. I was diagnosed with foot drop in June. After x-rays, MRI, and EMG it was determined I only had degenerative disc disease with no bulges or herniations.
739070 tn?1338603402 Does that help with a freezing foot? Thank you for your response, hope you have a great day!
Avatar m tn i'm no expert, but i'll offer what i can. first of all, if this is not just discomfort and you're pain is severe enough to make you stop repeatedly, i think it's probably a good idea to discontinue running until you have a better understanding of what is causing the pain. did you say you were running on the beach? running on the sand could encourage awkward movements that may strain muscles or jar the skeletal system.....
Avatar n tn There is possibility of stress fracture of metatarsals, neuropathy, tendonitis etc. If possible get X ray foot done to rule out stress fracture.
1354136 tn?1331875317 finally got to see a specialist today and he diagnosed me with posterior tibial tendonitis. i was given a cortisone shot to my inner ankle, and given orders to get these medical inserts for my foot to help my arch. i have flat feet. my questions are - has anyone else been through this? how long was your recovery time? after the cortisone injection did the injection site and area really puff up, and when did you notice relief? i'm just pretty bummed out.
