Running foot injuries top of foot

Common Questions and Answers about Running foot injuries top of foot

foot

Avatar n tn As there is very little soft tissue to protect the top of the foot, bone injuries are common. The second, third and fourth Metatarsals are the most commonly injured bones due to something falling on your foot. Without any fracture you would need physiotherapy and anti inflammatory medications to decrease the pain and inflammation. I would also suggest you to wear proper footwear. Take care!
Avatar m tn I'm a runner and recently got a pain on top of foot, as if my laces were too tight 9they may have been!) recently been doing a lot of off road running on uneven hard surface. it seems to be in the Extensor Hallucis Brevis area and there is a squashy lump the size of a smallish coin in that area, which isn't really painful to touch. If I loosen my laces in that area I can walk and do a bit of running without too much discomfort.
Avatar f tn You need an x-ray. I fractured a metatarsal bone (upper top of foot) while in the military and it took a year to heal, and I still have pain decades later. Generally there is a "window of opportunity" to immobilize such a fracture, and if missed the bone won't heal without surgery.
3851566 tn?1348338001 I stubbed my foot very hard running, and there is a lot of blue bruising on my toes and around my joints and on the top of my foot. After I stubbed it I got really hot for a few minutes and light headed. That made me think I probably broke something in my foot. It is very painful to try to walk on it, but other than that it doesn't bother me that much its not in constant pain.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?
Avatar n tn I've get heart palpitations a lot, espicially after i exercise and I'm starting to get injured more frequently. I think i have a stress fracture on my left foot kind of under the big toe (ball of the foot) that hasn't gone away since last November.
Avatar m tn You might want to look at your shoes and make sure they are not getting to worn out to support what your doing or not to tight in that area, check with a running store they can fit your foot to shoe pefectly, Also it could be a shin splint i use to get those on the treadmill if i did not put it at an incline and that can pull on the muscle that goes along the top of the foot its painful, I worked with trainers who told me to use the incline not to get chine splints, good luck these things hav
Avatar n tn Can you get mortons neuroma twise in the same foot? the pain is on the top this time and not under the foot.
Avatar n tn I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad. I do not know where to go from here. Does anyone have any suggestions???
Avatar m tn Any more comments. I still suffer from the same problem, a pain kind of on top of my foot where the foot meets my shin, but feels like its in the joint. Only hurst for 10 seconds or so first thing in the morning when I put weight on it. Don't want to see a orthopedic doctor if I don't absolutely have to as it will be quite expensive.
Avatar m tn At first sight at the crash, the top of my foot was swollen badly in two specific places, one swollen part has this cut which wouldn't stop bleeding and the other is just a giant bump. After elevating my leg for a couple of hours with ice and pressure, its still bleeding somewhat but the swelling turned from 2 concentrated places to spread all over the top of my foot. I doubt it is broken though, I can move all my toes and my ankle fine without the severe pain of knowing that its broken.
338416 tn?1420045702 I've been trying to lose weight the last few months, and it's been very difficult. Every time I lose a pound, I seem to gain it back the next day. So I started running again. At first I started running about seven minutes, until my foot started dragging and I was out of breath. I'm definitely out of condition! Right now I'm up to fifteen minutes before my foot starts dragging. Then I walk the rest of the way.
Avatar m tn I am 34 year old female with chronic bilateral ankle pain. The pain in my right foot is terrible..my ankle aches all the time, my left foot is bearable. I can't wear shoes other than sneakers, and even wearing sneakers my foot aches. I was diagnosed with sinus tarsi syndrome. Originally in May 2015, I had grade 2 ankle sprain of ATFL ligament and bone edema in calcaneus...this was after completing exercise program T25 and running.
Avatar f tn Six months later I was diagnosed with fractures in both heels and have been in two casts, crutches and another walking boot. I am still in pain! I just had an MRI that shows Marrow Edema in four bones of my foot. What does this mean? I do not see the Dr. again for two weeks! I can't be on my feet for any length of time with suffering excruciating pain!
Avatar m tn I have read multiple posts about this and have also read about the Mortons condition, but I think mine is different. On occasion such as last night, I was awoke by a stabbing pain on the top of my right foot. I refer to these as "labor pains" because you can feel the jolt coming on and it lasts for a couple of seconds then subsides. It is like a burning electrical shock. It will continue to do it at anywhere from 30 to 45 second intervals. My toes are unaffected.
Avatar n tn on her foot, just above her toes and a deep, though small looking cut at the point of impact. The rest of the top front part of her foot was swollen. She was told in Casualty that there was tissue damage and damage to the tendons but no apparent broken bones. A few days later when some of the swelling subsided she began to walk on it. It ached but every so often she got a sharp piercing pain on the top; and underneath her foot.
1218873 tn?1300091216 However, during the day yesterday, first the top of my right foot at the base of my toes started to cramp, then my left foot started -- same place! I was about to drive home from work, but couldn't. Every time I tried to sit in the car, it started again. So, being desperate, I tried something I read about in People's Pharmacy. I opened a package of yellow mustard that I'd had leftover from a fast food meal, and sucked out maybe 1/3 of it -- yuck!!!
Avatar f tn A 3 pound can was dropped on the top of my foot today,I am experiencing swelling and pain that shoots down to my toes ands up my leg.I can still walk on my foot but it hurts.Could I have a small fracture on the top of my foot?
Avatar m tn In the last 2-3 years have acquired severe pain in ankle and foot! I get a burning pain in center of foot and at the ball behind big toe it stays sore to the touch.. .. Any recommendations!???
