Avatar m tn Pain becomes excruciating if I try to run(only when I use the front part of the foot and don't land on my heels).I have to appear for a physical exam for admittance in the army in January. Please help!!!
Avatar f tn I cannot walk for a long time and when I try to stretch my toe start to cram together and my ankle foot becomes so painful, I have tears running down my cheek. Someone mentioned do not waste your money on a foot doctor, and I totally agree. What I usually do is go into the nail salon and get a 15 min foot massage and It helps. Also I do an exercise where I stand straight and I place both hands on the wall in front of me, one foot bent a little and the other away from me and stretch it that way.
Avatar f tn But, when I get tired, I still trip over my right foot. I have tried running, but it's like my right foot has lost its shock absorber. Maybe it would be more accurate to say that it's ,uch harder for that foot to push off the ground? I feel more impact when I land on it and then have a harder time pushing off with it. If I focusd on it, maybe it would improve. Probably best to start with a threadmill, rather than hard surfaces like pavement. Good luck!
572651 tn?1333939396 I just dropped 150 dollars on new running shoes and foot still hurts!
Avatar n tn I went to the ER when it first started and was really bad. My entire left side was tingling, including the left side of my face, my left arm, leg and foot. It only happens on the LEFT side. When I walked it felt like my left ankle was just going to give out on me, it felt really weak. I was also EXREMELY dizzy. I was admitted and these symptoms were strong and lasted for over a day. I was in the hospital for 2 days and they ran a CT scan, an MRI, blood tests, and all came back negative.
Avatar n tn I am 6ft2 tall and lean only weighing 73KG's I am muscular for my weight and not a bean pole. I am having pain problems when I run. I generally land mid foot and have a relaxed pace with a slower leg turn over. The problem usually kicks in around 15-20 mins usually after 3-4km's of running. I own new running shoes and have custom made orthotic arch support. I run on different surfaces such as gravel, grass, tredmill and mixed surfaces with the same issue.

535822 tn?1443980380 “You land in such a way that you have what we call a ‘mid-foot strike,’ which is slightly in front of the heel and not up on your toes because that part of your foot is actually designed to absorb some shock. So, if you can train yourself to land in a more forgiving, mid-foot stance, you actually have less force transmission, which may, over time, mean less injuries,” Dr. Joy says. Dr.
Avatar n tn It clicks everytime I land on my feet. When running it clicks when my left foot hits the ground and clicks when the right foot hits the ground. Other than that it doesn't.
Avatar f tn Press down on the bench forcefully, and launch your body into the air. Switch your leg position while in the air so you land with your left foot on the bench and right foot on the floor. Repeat the same pattern, and continue to alternate back and forth. Do a set of star jumps. Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Lower yourself into a squat, and move your arms down in front of your body. Jump off the floor in an explosive manner, and extend your arms and legs out to your sides in an X shape.
Avatar f tn You probably over stride and land hard on your heels. Try shortening your stride so your foot strikes a more of a glancing blow beneath your hips. Decreasing foot contact time with the ground makes you feel lighter on your feet and a smoother runner. Quicker leg turnover is necessary to compensate for your new, shorter stride length. Good runners take about 180 steps per minute, or 90 in 30 seconds. Count your number of strides for 30 seconds and try to hit 90 consistently.
Avatar n tn It was roughly a year ago, I was going for a lay-up during a basketball game when i was pushed from behind while up in the air. I land with my left foot with forward momentum. I felt that my knee took all the force of the landing, and eventually, it gave and i collapse to the ground. The rest of the day, i was left with a mild sharp pain. Eventually, after a couple of weeks of inactivity, the pain disappears. But eventually it came back. Actually, it comes back everytime i do an activity.
Avatar f tn It is literally just localized to that one are and it is not my whole ankle or foot. When I walk on just the upper part of my foot there is no pain as well as sitting and twisting my foot around there is no pain. As I stay off of it it does not get worse and it actually felt a little better this Thursday morning. Although the pain increases on it as I use it more. I am very concerned and I am running a half marathon this coming Sunday.
Avatar m tn I broke them while ATVing, my foot got in front of the footpeg, then my foot hit a small hard snowdrift and my leg broke against the footpeg. I got a rod in my Tibia because the doctors couldn't get it set otherwise. It was 3 months after I broke my leg that I had one of the upper screw removed so that my bone could compress and heal more. I was still on cruches at that time. I was on cruches for 2 weeks after that and in a walking cast for 2 1/2 months after that.
Avatar m tn Ive had to stop these for the 3rd week now as there is sharp pain when I land my left foot on the ground sometimes. Here is my problem. Im having difficulty getting an appointment with my GP because I work long hours. Ive now got one for next Thursday but by then I would have been in pain for 3.5 weeks. Im also not sure just what the doctor will add, Im really looking for information on how to approach the upcoming period and the healing process.
Avatar f tn Good posture puts less stress and impact on the joints, which reduces injury risk and increases efficiency, meaning you can run longer with less exertion. While running, keep your chest up and your shoulders down. Your feet should land underneath your hips, positioning your body in a straight line from your head to your toes. Avoid leaning forward from the waist, which can tax the lower back. Keep your hand unclenched to prevent unnecessary tension.
4043517 tn?1374010173 Went backwards, hit my head on a brick, broke at least one toe, soaked in Epsom salts, bloody and foot swollen, butt and side throbbing, goose egg on my elbow. Confused. **** this hurts. Back to like my bike wreck. I feel so awful right now. **** **** ****. Thought I had this under control. Apparently not. My foot hurts so bad. My head is swollen. Kids made me stay up until they were assured I didn't have a concussion. Oh. I forgot how much it hurts to fall. Glad my bones are relatively strong.
Avatar f tn I have posted this on the MS community and feel at home there, but I am seeing my PC again on Thursday and would like to have educated questions to ask him so I am not left in limbo land. For several years I have been living with tingling in the arms and legs, burning sensation on the thighs, inside of knees and feet.
Avatar f tn As I was laying down, I got that awful familiar felling if fire running through my veins, up my neck, into my stomach, which is always how my panic attacks start, and for the first time in 17 days I wanted to use, not suboxone, just use, anything a pain pill a xanax a klonopin whatever, and it scared me a lot, because I started having those scheming thoughts in my head of how and when I could cop something. luckily for me, ,I don't have people in my life that dealanymore, just drs.
1490050 tn?1288304613 So that's kinda freaking me out. AND NOW, ontop of all of that, Yesterday (the 27th), I was running the mile in PE (which isn't abnormal) and right beside my bellybutton and in that region on the left side, everytime I would land on my left foot, it felt like there was something hollow in there, or pressurized just in that region. The best way I could describe it as is like a running cramp but lower in the left abdomen region.
Avatar f tn Some people have told me that my symptoms sound neurological, but then the neurologist I saw last month said that if I've never gone blind or been paralized then I don't have a neurological problems and that none of my symptoms (including dropping things, tripping, running into door frames, etc.........) are not neurological. I don't know what to think any more :/ I don't want to be treated like I'm crazy any more. The last 2 drs acted as if I was lying about my symptoms.
Avatar f tn tingling in legs and arms, drop foot (tripping a lot), hands dropping things, chordination problems (running into door frames or other objects due to not being able to perceive acurate distance)、foot not working while driving. My MRI last year was negative (im scheduled for more in a couple of weeks) I do have a lot of symptoms that are common to both MS and fibro but also lack some of the main symptoms found in both.
219241 tn?1413541365 had a cup of tea in a mountain at Moraine Lake, studied rocks with wonderment of the force of the earth, cried at the marvel of stars in the heavens in Death Valley, waded through snow chilled water through the Narrows in Zion, gasped in total silence at Bryce Canyon, laughed at the antics of squirrels on the rim at Grand Canyon, slept in places only a pauper would think was luxury, stayed in a casino where the flashing lights kept me in la-la land all night (very hypnotic!
219241 tn?1413541365 Woohooooooo! I can't believe I am in the land of the baseball and the ever obese population! Man! what a spin-out!!!. I have never seen so many obese people in my life! Sure there are a ton of really healthy people too, but when I saw the morbidly obese waddling toward me, I had to run in case one fell over and squished me! I know that sounds rather harsh, but I can see why these Americans are so big...I mean EVERYTHING here is big...
148588 tn?1465782409 $450 an acre-foot versus $2,000 an acre-foot. An acre-foot is equivalent to an acre covered by water 1 foot deep, enough to supply two families of four for a year. Competitive price That brings Mandell's water cost close to what farmers are paying, in wet years, for water from the Panoche and other valley districts - about $300 an acre-foot. And that makes it a more economically attractive option than any of the 17 conventional desalination plants planned throughout California.
211940 tn?1267884866 A new one for me has been on my little flat land bike rides, I have an old symptom of going numb from the waist down. After I rest for 20 - 60 minutes, everything's fine. But something new has cropped up this spring, and that's my left foot stays numb for an extra 3 hours after everything else normalizes. I've told my neurologist, and he and I both know this is just a pseudo-exacerbation. Neither of us wants to treat with steroids at this time. Love the gardening, too!
