I was in the ER a year ago because I felt like I was suffocating to death, and was hearing crackles in my chest. RSV B virus according to the nasal aspiration test lab results. (RSV-a pleasant way to die-you slowly suffocate but don't have any of the nasal sinus throat pain that comes with flu.)
Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler.
s taking?? Has the doctor ruled out RSV?? My daughters never had it but, his symptoms (coughing for 4 weeks) sounds alot like it. If that's the case he really should be getting breathing treatments, they're much more effective. Were you given med for the cough the first time you took him in?? Could it be an allergic reaction to the meds??
It does take their little bodies to work through viruses longer than us. Ask to make sure your son isn't getting dehydrated.
1 no and the other one said they would feel very comfortable takeing him on, however they would love to sit down have a meeting with my husband and I before the end of that school year, get his medical records they were all trained in first aid and CPR, take any training deemed necessary to make sure that if he did run into trouble they would know what to do. train on any medical device he might have (only a nebulizer) and the list continues. We ahve had 3 meetings prior to him starting school.
after that she was diagnosed with RSV 3 times over the next few months. Each time she was given a refill for meds to go in the nebulizer they gave me the first time she had it. she has alwas had episodes of fevers, and I didn't realise that until recently. for the last few months every three weeks or so she comes down with cold like symptoms (sometimes lasting a week or more), also she has episodes where she will be perfectly fine and then spike a high fever, which lasts for days on end.
She was diagnosed with asthma, RSV, low oxygen saturation levels, and pneumonia. We were sent home yesterday with nebulizer to use every 4 hrs as needed.
I have a couple of questions.
1. SHe hates these treatments altogether, but the mask is completely impossible to use. In the hospital they were using the "blow by" method, and we are using this at home, too.

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!
My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???
Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
My eleven year old daughter has experienced odd symptoms from about four weeks of age. It seems as though she gets everything that comes along. We are frustrated to say the least. The list seems long:
-Elevated biliruben for 5 weeks at birth
-RSV and double pneumonia at 6wks
-ongoing colds and pneumonias (no less than annual) and strep rashes
-RSV at age 2 again requiring hospitalization
-Age 2-4 spontaneous vomitting on about a 30 day cycle.

I would be really careful my daughter was a preemie and as soon as we got home she ended up back in the hospital with rsv because this is the time of year its out. And because she was so small she almost died and ended up in a childrens hospital for 5 weeks. It was horrible.
I took my 4 week old to the ER and they told me he has RSV. They just gave me a paper on it, They didn't really tell me what to do except suction out his nose. I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?
does asthma cause any other symptoms besides the coughing and wheezing ,chest tightening .
