Rsv symptoms and signs

Common Questions and Answers about Rsv symptoms and signs

Avatar n tn Some w/ ear inf., others with RSV, and some with bronchiolitis. My son has not been that sick. He has had two bouts of bronchiolitis (9mths apart)and a sinus infection, all in one year. He has had congestion that he can't get rid of and a cough ( not nearly as bad as others I have read). Although sometimes his cough makes him vomit. I guess my question is this.....Could he have been misdiagnosed? Or are there less severe symptoms that go along with RAD? Please help!

Avatar f tn no symptoms except heavy boobs
Avatar n tn Lymphocyte% 71. Lymphocyte # 8.3. She came back neg. for flu although they noted minor flu symptoms, RSV was negative, and her chest x-ray showed what may have been viral pnuemonia, however she had a chest x-ray 1 month previous and it had showed the same thing with no change. Does anyone have a clue as to what these #'s mean? She is not getting worse but on the other hand she is not getting better.
Avatar f tn She emailed that if you baby has a cough with no fever, please take them to get checked for RSV. My DD is 6 months old and has had a chronic cough for a long time. It seems to get better and then starts all over again. I have taken to the doctor for it three times, the last time a week ago today. Everytime they check her really good and say it is just drainage from a cold. She has not had any fever and feels good. Last night her cough seemed a little worse, but she still feels great.
Avatar n tn He has all of the symptoms of RSV...they did the mucous test and said he has moderate case and that the ventolin and cortisone inhaler will help make him comfortable, although I am losing faith in his Dr. since I was the one that was showing the most concern for an answer. We have been in to see her once a week for 12 weeks...he has ran 2 very high fevers that lasted days each one, along with crying when this a true diagnoses or is she covering her tracks for treatment?
1294995 tn?1330662736 One of my friends on the forum got a BFN from a blood test today and I was shocked because she was having really good symptoms and a great attitude. Of course I feel for her, but it also makes me worried that I am reading too much into my own "signs"... another week stretches out before me, I am so hopeful... I close my eyes and focus...
377012 tn?1283965435 (crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!
Avatar f tn All premenstrual signs have gone - however periods have NOT come

1749731 tn?1362096513 Went to bed last night with very sore BBs and woke up this morning and they were not sore at all. They have become a little but sore as the day has gone on but not bad. Nipples still sore. Nausea and dizziness is increased today, but nothing severe at all still mild.
172411 tn?1287086265 RSV is a virus that is quite common at this time of the year - do whatever the doctor tells you and your little one will be good - untreated and uncared for, RSV can go into pneumonia, etc - its a lot of respiratory symptoms, similar to a cold or flu and seems to effect infants most commonly - probably because they are so small and immune systems are weak - do what the doctor says - and your little guy will be ok

453798 tn?1262633421 My symptoms that have been noted are only at night. Mostly, I don't have any symptoms of being pregnant. That is a little scary, but all seems to be well. As long as it stays this way, I will be happy!
602157 tn?1443562354 It started where I was bed ridden for 3 days with a fever and chills and now its just a constant battle with congestion and a cough. I still have odd pains around my body but it feels like its never going. Any help with how long this virus can last? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi, understand your anxiety. RSV infections generally occur during fall, winter, and early spring. The timing and severity of RSV circulation in a given community can vary from year to year. If other children in your community show symptoms then it is probable that the infection is present. Usually children show symptoms within 4 to 6 days of infection. Most will recover in 1 to 2 weeks. If his symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor. Regards.
Avatar f tn They always say her lungs are clear and have never even mentioned RSV to me. She feels fine during the day and is eating well. She has no fever and isn't seeming to have trouble breathing. Do you think she could still have RSV? My reason for not going back to the doctor is that where I live, flu and a serious stomach virus are really bad. I don't want to take her in and expose her to those things unless absolutely necessary.
Avatar f tn My son is serving 30 days in jail and they choose not to give him Loritab, Kolonipin, Neurontin, or even Motrin 800mg. They are going to give him nothing. We know he is addictted to these drugs afte 5 years. The Kolonopin they switched from Xanax and Valium, the Loritab they have alternated with the Oxycontin, the muscle relaxer and sleeping pill we did not even try for.
Avatar f tn Since last June he has ran a temp at least once a month(usually more). He was treated for RSV about 2 weeks ago and is also being treated for asthma symptoms. He finished a round of antibotics about a week ago and as of last Friday has started running fever again. It generally runns between 99-101 but has recently started rising to 103-104.5(it was 104.5 when I took him to the hosp and he tested positive for RSV).
Avatar f tn My son also just got over RSV. Did they do a chest xray when you took him in? The reason I ask is because when I took Jadyn in they did a chest Xray and swabbed for RSV. The xray came back clear and his breathing "sounded fine" so they gave me the choice of taking him home and caring for him myself.
Avatar f tn I took my 4 week old to the ER and they told me he has RSV. They just gave me a paper on it, They didn't really tell me what to do except suction out his nose. I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?
Avatar n tn Maybe go for a second opinion. I would.. It very well could be RSV. My daughter has alot of the same symptoms and they are tryign to figure out what it is.. does he seem to be in distress when his lips turn blue... or does anything about him change when he has a fever... or coughing??? If your doctor isnt giving you proper advice. Go get a second opinion.
1690584 tn?1340297472 Savannah was admitted to the hospital for RSV, Bronchitis, Ear Infection. Stayed until Saturday but was released earlier then she should have been due to Christmas. Her oxygen levels were still not staying up high but she is now doing better. She does have a partial collapse of the right lung and they want to no check her heart due to some blue around the mouth.

Avatar f tn I was told yesturday that my 7yr old has RSV and it got bad in one day.. I'm worried because, my 3yr old has RAD and is now showing symptoms of the same thing. Her Dr is closed. Im giving her treatments every 4 hours should I start doing it every 3 like her sister? She trys to blow her nose and tells me crying it won't come out, it'll run a little, but it seems to be doing the same as her sister.. Is 99.5 under her pit something I should be worried about?

Avatar n tn My second little guy got RSV at 10 weeks from daycare and we are still dealing with respitory problems and he will be 5 months next week. I hope you don't have to deal with RSV, our episodes were very scary and I almost had to hospitalize my second one, we were told we were lucky he was 10 weeks, a week or 2 younger and it could have been way worse.
