Restasis success rate

Common Questions and Answers about Restasis success rate

restasis

Avatar m tn the success of the permanent plus does not in my experience relate to success/failure of disolving plug. Question 2: I do not recommend plugs with caps or ones that are located deep in the tear duct. Too hard to remove and often cause problems. I use only easy to remove. They come in small medicum and large and properly sized cap not a problem. I use to use plugs first, now I use restasis first.
Avatar f tn sort_by=date Both my wife and I have moderately severe dry eyes. Both of us are on restasis with complete success. She for 6-7 years and me for one and a half year. IT WILL TAKE 6 MONTHS BEFORE YOU SEE THE FULL BENEFITS OF RESTASIS SO DON'T STOP THEM. Restasis eye drops does not cause cancer if it did neither my wife or I would be taking them. I personally would not have plugs put in. they fall out, they can scratch the eye. If you're not on Omega 3 I would start them.
Avatar m tn I HAD MY LOWER LID PLUGGED WITH NO SUCCESS. THE DOCTOR PLUGGED THE UPPER AND NOW MY EYE IS TOO WET. TEARS ARE CONSTANTLY RUNNING DOWN MY FACE. MY FIRST QUESTION IS ARE THERE HEALTH RISKS TO HAVING TOO MANY TEARS? MY NEXT QUESTIONS IS THERE A PLUG THAT JUST DELAYS DRAINAGE INSTEAD OF TOTALLY OCCLUDING DRAINAGE? THE UPPER PLUG IS A LITTLE IRRITATING AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW ALSO WOULD CAUTERY BE A GOOD CHOICE? I WAS NOT SURE IF CAUTERY WAS REVERSABLE OR NOT.
Avatar n tn I have noticed the burning sensation you have discussed. What is the success rate for Restasis for people who have tried it and stuck to the Restasis program.
Avatar n tn Will the Restasis increase the moisture and worsen the Fuchs? What is the failure rate on cataract w/IOL combined w/ dry eye combined w/ Fuchs? He is concerned w/ this combo. I am seeing glares at nite and eyes are also astigmatic. I am 62. This discussion is related to Fuch's Dystrophy?.
Avatar f tn has anyone taken restasis? I either get intense lacrimation and cannot see, or now my orbital is attacked and I cannot focus in one eye. any success with anything?
1318483 tn?1318347182 HI Addi, The plugs do work really well for most people. They are not hard to insert, and "technically" the patient doesn't feel much of anything, except for some pressure, as Lu mentioned. Occasionally the patient has to take a bit of valuim if the nerves are to great, but otherwise it is not a big deal. (easier said that done, since I have never had it done, but have assisted the doc a number of times.) Did you get some prism glasses? I hope they help your double vision.
Avatar f tn My wife and I are both on Restasis with fabulous success and I use it extensively in my practice and have recommended it many times her at the Eye Forum. I think your experience is atypical as Restasis is the most widely prescribed prescription eye drop in the USA. A tear duct plug would not cause blurred vision nor ringing in your ear (tinnitus). If the ringing is new you need to see an ENT physician for an audiogram and evaluation of the ringing.
Avatar m tn A new prescription drop you may want ask your doctor about is Freshkote. My doctor said it is an option he likes to use before Restatsis. I've tried every OTC drop, and I've heard the Restasis is expensive and has a low success rate. Freshkote has been working better than anything I have tried, and I can use it with my contacts. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn The lense felt like it was a thicker material and immediately sucked all the oxygen out of my eyes. During this period I also started on Restasis and even that doesn't seem to be working. I have Raynaud's disease and think this may have something to do with my dry eyes. What brand of contact lenses do you think would be best? Thank you!
Avatar f tn As the foreign body pain increases so goes the tightening to the point both lids are drawn together. Happens a few times a day to where it is interfering with my professional life. Restasis, Lotemax, AcuVail, lubricants..... Nothing changes the outcome. This has been going on for years and ophthalmologist shrugs and doesn't know what to do. I have caught this 'eye fit' on video several times. Anyone else have this problem?
Avatar n tn regarding dry eye treatment on this forum you can access thru a search. Treatment can include punctal plugs, restasis, artificial tears (without preservatives), increase humidified air, moisture goggles, fish/flaxseed oil (2000 mg/daily).
Avatar m tn My daughter who had PRK recently is taking Thema Tears Nutrition (it is a pill) and another vitamin and has had a lot of success getting rid of dry eyes. I have used Restasis and frankly can't see much difference. I'm using it after cataract surgery. It is very expensive. Even with my insurance paying some it was $100.
1539611 tn?1345659183 I would like to know what is the success rate (Chances of getting pregnant) in first cycle of taking clomid. Also please let me know will there be any side effects of taking clomid. Any suggestions are welcome.
351846 tn?1273615544 I think the success rate for suboxone is gonna be really small but maybe the phar. companys will make it seem different because at 6$ a piece from the pharmacy and due to the fact that they make anybody who is ill instantly well again ensures its success at the cost of billions of brain receptors. Somebody has to speak up, if im going to be on this for the rest of my life then just give me a script with unlimited refills.
Avatar f tn Wow! $26,000! That's a lot of money. I've never done IVF, but I've checked the cost (I've had two miscarriages myself...and each time it took me more than a year to get pregnant). At the center I went for three IUIs last year, they charge about $7,000 for IVF, but that does not include meds, which I've heard can cost several thousands by itself. I've just kinda guestimated that it will cost about $10,000...but I'm starting to wonder if that's way off now.
Avatar m tn nPEP success rate is 86% apx.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows how much IUI increases your success rate. I was on Clomid for a while with Metformin with less than adequate results. The first round of Femara I had 3 good follicles(can't remember sizes) and the HCG trigger on Saturday morning and then IUI on Sunday evening. My husband has excellet counts and motility, there was a brief issue with the morphology but that is even great now.
1748995 tn?1427334864 I to get pregnant, so I was wondering what the success rate is?? Have any of you heard of a successful pregnancy after 1 IUI?? As far as I know there are no issues with me but my hubby had a really low sperm count. We see a urologist at the end of next month (Nov). If anyone has any suggestions to help it would be appreciated! Thanks ladies!
Avatar f tn I just got back from my optomologist & he prescribed for me Restasis. He mentioned that once you're on Restasis, it's an on going thing it's not really temporary. Is that the case, do I have to stay on it. I was hoping that once my eye is feeling better, I could just use artificial tears to keep my eyes from drying so badly. He also changed my contact lenses to Acuvue Oasys. Any advice or info would be great.............................
Avatar n tn My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?
Avatar f tn I'm on restasis, my wife is on restasis, I use restasis in my practice. the medicine does not cause floaters. Floaters can occur at any time. If they start and you are doing something else like mowing the yard, reading a book or starting restasis the relationship is COINCIDENTAL. On the other hand if you are hit in the eye with a fist and note floaters the relationship is CAUSATIVE.
Avatar m tn Rare anyone to be too sensitive to restasis. My wife and I have been on restasis for many years with fabulous results. restasis works with both forms of dry eyes. Many people have stinging with restasis for several weeks which can be helped by using steroid drops for a couple of weeks. there is a new medication that works like restasis called Xidra it is supposed to kick in faster (3-4 months) than restasis (4-6 months) but has not been shown to be better than restasis and is more costly.
Avatar n tn I prescribe Restasis and I use Restasis. I am not familiar with a blue vial holder. I Googled the term and nothing comes up so I don't know anything about it.
Avatar m tn I have a moderate to serious dry eye. I am going to start my Restasis today and I know that I will not see the result till 2 months or more from now. I am also planning for a cataract surgery in 1 to 2 months. I also foresee that I will use some steroid or antibotics for a few weeks after the surgery. Do I need to stop Restasis once I start the steroid ?
