I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?
After I got the Dr prescription, contacted Allergan and many online pharmacy, I just found that Restasis is still not official for sale (it is approved) in Canada till end of Oct. If someone can tell me some online drug stores can ship it to Canada, that will helpful.
Now, I need to try the option of punctal plug to treat my moderate to severe dry eye. I plan to try a temporary one first.
I have tried to speak to my opthalmologists in regards to the conjunctivitis but they wave it off and prescribe a short course of Fml, Pred Forte, Maxidex or Prednisone depending on the severity of the flareup. They are very skeptical about prolonged use of steroids and I understand why. I have now developed dry eyes in the last year and it seems the issue with the conjunctivitus is worsening.

I had plugs in my tear ducts, but the one in the right eye seems to have popped out as my surgeon removed the mask the day of the operation (other also missi g in action). We laughed about this but I think this may be part of the problem. I too am worried about all the hundreds of tiny, tiny dots as I thought it might be evidence of bleeding somewhere.
Plavix has a unique mechanism of action by blocking the amplification of platelet activation by released ADP, and often used with aspirin to prevent the risk of clots for the first year after DES implant. Plavix and aspirin have different mechanism of action to prevent clots. After a year, plavix is usually discontinue as the risk for clots is decreased, and aspirin is continued long term. All i can tell you is Restasis is typically used to treat dry eye to increase tear production, and it also helps decrease ocular surface disease, lessen the severity of dry eye symptoms and significant reduction in ocular pain postoperative with Glaucoma but i'm unaware of Restasis being used to treat Glaucoma specifically.
I'm on restasis, my wife is on restasis, I use restasis in my practice. the medicine does not cause floaters. Floaters can occur at any time. If they start and you are doing something else like mowing the yard, reading a book or starting restasis the relationship is COINCIDENTAL. On the other hand if you are hit in the eye with a fist and note floaters the relationship is CAUSATIVE.
My wife and I have been on restasis for many years with fabulous results. restasis works with both forms of dry eyes. Many people have stinging with restasis for several weeks which can be helped by using steroid drops for a couple of weeks. there is a new medication that works like restasis called Xidra it is supposed to kick in faster (3-4 months) than restasis (4-6 months) but has not been shown to be better than restasis and is more costly. My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?
Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes. My eyes now feel better than they have for quite awhile but still red like no sleep (I get 8 hrs daily) I have 3 questions; 1. can plugs be used with Restasis?
I've had difficulty with intermittent blurred vision for over a year. All neurological tests have been negative. Two months ago, my eye doctor changed my prescription slightly, and also suggested I try Restasis to see if maybe my eyes were just dry. I haven't noticed much of a change. I went today for a recheck. I read the eye chart with my right eye and did OK, but I could barely see the top line with my left eye. I was very shocked, as this has never happened before.
Hi, I was losing my eye sight about 2 weeks ago. It just came out of the blue. I had lens inplants in 2004. Been doing just fine. Until 2 weeks ago. My eye Dr. / surgeon diagnosed as me as possible glaucoma. The pressure in my eyes was 24.5 . He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open.
I have a moderate to serious dry eye. I am going to start my Restasis today and I know that I will not see the result till 2 months or more from now. I am also planning for a cataract surgery in 1 to 2 months. I also foresee that I will use some steroid or antibotics for a few weeks after the surgery. Do I need to stop Restasis once I start the steroid ?

Recently I have been getting double vision a lot. It is brief, and is like the two images do a circle before joining back together. It happens when I open my eyes, or quickly look at the other side of a room, like my eyes can't focus quickly enough to keep up. It mostly only happens when I am in class and really tired, so I didn't think much of it, but I have been getting about 7 hours of sleep every night, haven't pulled any all nighters, and it is still happening.
s syndrome on steroids for long periods. Most of my patients with your problems I treat with Restasis twice daily for the rest of their life. I have said this before but both my wife and I have bad dry eyes and my wife has been on restasis with good results for about 15 years and me for about 10 years. Note it takes 4-6 months for Restasis to kick in and work fully. There are too other drops that are in this family.
My Eye Doctor suggested I keep Restasis in the fridge to make more comfortable and reduce the burning and to keep using ir for 2 days. Does Restasis lose its effectiveness when placed in the fridge. Also when are results typically seen? I have a TBUT of 5 and hoping to see an increase if ues consistently.
Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses.

Hi Kristylew: First of all I would hope that you were on Restasis for a minimum of 6 months. Anything less is not a fair trial. Both my wife and i are on Restasis with miraculous results after 6 months of nothing happening. We both have different forms of Tears Dysfunction Syndrome (AKA dry eye syndrome). Botox injections is the treatment of choice for blepharospam. I have had many patients had it done and it was covered by a variety of insurance plans including Medicare.
