Restasis light sensitivity

Common Questions and Answers about Restasis light sensitivity

restasis

Avatar n tn I'm 26 years and my problem is light sensitivity. My eyes are burning when I try to watch TV, computer or when is strong sunlight. In 2004 I had a lasik surgery for medium myopia and before that I had contact lenses. Now I wear glasses for small myopia and astigmatism. I had this problem before the lasik surgery but it was rarely, after the lasik it became permanent. I've seen many doctors and the only cause they could find was dry eye.

184420 tn?1326739808 My eyes were driving me crazy with itching, feeling like I had sand in them, light sensitivity, itching, etc. I went to my eye doctor and he put me on Lotemax and Restasis drops and they have helped immensely. He said he is going to keep me on the Restasis for the entire time I am on treatment. Personally I would see an eye doctor for this problem. An eye doctor can examine your eyes to be sure there is nothing else gouing on with them.
Avatar f tn I have been dealing with light sensitivity and dry eyes since July 2013. I went to a corneal specialists who put plugs in both eyes, upper and lower ducts, which has helped with the dry eyes to some degree. However, the light sensitivity has been an ongoing problem. The corneal specialist I saw said there was nothing else he could do for me to help with the light sensitivity.
169075 tn?1296078787 For the past year I have had extremely dry eyes and light sensitivity. I went to two specialist who both told me I had dry eyes and would have to stop wearing contact lenses and my eyes would get better. My question is...how long should it take for me to notice any improvement because it has been a month now that I have not worn contact lenses and have been putting drops in my eyes several times a day and don't see to notice much difference.
Avatar m tn I have dry eye ( moderate to severe ) Occular Rosecea , chronic conjuntivitis, and after capsolotomy on both eyes-cataract surgery on both eyes- Vitrectomy-- buckle for torn retina- laser for lattice degeneration- I also suffer from light sensativity - It is tolerable with sealed sunglasses with rv and reflective coating , living in Pa.
Avatar f tn Byrn - the same thing is happening to me (along with the light sensitivity) and it's freaking me out! I had surgery 4 weeks ago and am experiencing the same symptoms. I'll be driving and all of a sudden my eyes will start to hurt and I'll have a hard time keeping them open. The light sensitivity is also extreme and I have to keep the lights really dim around me. I just bought polarized sunglasses and use them constantly. Has your doctor explained anything else?
Avatar f tn My eyes experience a mild redness (especially in the inside corners of eyes), burning, uncomfortable irritation with increased light sensitivity for the past three months that occurred initially during a trial of Xalatan (I was not wearing contact lenses at the time). I've been to three opthalmologists (one is a repected corneal/external disease specialist at university).
Avatar f tn Sorry but i misread your post. How did the doctor diagnose that you have it?
Avatar f tn He wakes up screaming and the morning routine is insane because he cannot see due to the severe light sensitivity. He often cannot get on the school bus and has missed so much school because of this. I am SO happy to find someone else with this condition as I have searched and searched and found no one!
Avatar f tn I would wake up in the middle of the night with blurred vision, scratchy, hard to focus, and sensitivity to light. I also wake up in the morning with this. I have been putting perservative free eye drops in my eyes but it doesn't seem to be helping. I was told that taking fish oil & flasx seed supplements helps with dry eye. Is this true? If so how many milligrams should I take and how many a day? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Surgery was done in the fall and now 5 months later one eye is giving me extreme light sensitivity and watering. Tfhe dr. put me on Restasis and drops. Tried temporary plugs and when they melted my condition got worse. Now one dr. wants to put pemanent plugs in, went to a world reknown hospital and head of eye dept. said they are a foreign body, don't do it.
Avatar m tn t affecting the diplopia, then it seems less likely to be muscular fatigue. Does your vision get better in bright light or dim light? One forces your mucles tighter and one looser. They also require different things from your nerves. If it were me, having gotten answers I didn't agree with, I'd experiment and do some research (or have someone help me). Best of luck to you.
Avatar n tn Now i also have been having sensitivity to light when driving at night the lights from cars leave a dark blue afterimage in my eyes.. I have been using the lubricating eye drops and it seems to help the eye irritation and the head cakes seemed to subside too. I do spend time on the computer since i am a graphic designer. I am 25 yars old. i do wear glasses to see far distances. what should i do to relieve the dry eyes. i have purchased a humidifier and i try blinking more often.
Avatar m tn Hi I have a problem with fluorescents and the issue is the type of light with the frequency and wave length. My problem is it gives me axentiy and makes my mind and whole body stress out I also lose train of thought and I can't think under them them. I been to Irene. And that didn't help plus I didn't want to have my world in colour. I did find a pair of sunglasses that works tho but to be honest everyone just makes you feel weird in the office wearing them.
Avatar f tn I have been having this strange symptom for about 3 weeks now & it's driving me nuts! I went to the eye doctor and the GP, both who told me I checked out fine. Bloodwork was run & the whole 9 yards. I'm 22 years old, for the record & in very good shape. Basically what I'm experiencing are some issues that seem to be related to light sensitivity.
Avatar m tn after 1 month my light sensitivity is still very bad. eye color has changed from dark brown to blue around the edges of the iris. I see the change, my friends see the change in color , but my surgeon says they are the same.
Avatar m tn They fit you b check your vision for glasses. You should get a dialated exam. Sensitivity to light can be caused by different things. A new inset of floaters needs to be addressed. How old are u because some ppl as they get older get floaters. I have the beginning if a cataract so I'm very sensitive to light. I also have hundreds of floaters caused by a retinal detachment I had fixed in 2006. Just get flecked out. It'll put your kind at ease and if it's something they can fix it.
Avatar f tn My eyes have always been sensitive to the light, but the sensitivity seems to be increasing. This is with the heat sensitivity is really disappointing since I really do love summer. I have so much work to do in the yard but I seem to try to get it done very early in the morning or later in the evening when it is almost dark. It is getting harder and harder to be outside in bright sunlight and even certain types of indoor lights are starting to bother me.
Avatar n tn Thank you Dr Hagan, what else can contribute to the light sensitivity? I notice the light sensivity has gotten worst since I had the 4 plugs put in. I periodically see more of a haze around lights at night in my left eye. Not sure if thats a side effect of lotemax/xiidra or if its an underlying cause of my condition. I also notice a film that covers my cornea from time to time. Is this cornea haze? As always any input is greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately all of this has caused severe anxiety and agoraphobia, because of the debris, Haze and floaters plus extreme light sensitivity that not even very dark sunglasses help! Going outside has become Terror inducing... In the past 7 years since my journey of eye problems started with the left eye that has passed to the right I have seen 9 different Retina Specialists in 3 different states, two neuro opthamologist and one uveitis specialist in Memphis Tennessee.
Avatar m tn As of this present time, after a good night sleep and my eye gets fully hydrated, when I wake up, I have the best vision anyone can ask for at age 50, but as the day progresses my eye seems to dry which effects my distance the most, but the HD lens has to work extremely hard to focus through that dryness. As a result during the day I have extreme contrast sensitivity and a slight bit of glare.
4943237 tn?1428991095 m remembering correctly you mentioned the sudden temporary deafness as well, and now with this light sensitivity I wanted to pass along this webiste. Have you seen a vestibular specialist as well? This is a good site. People don't often realize how delicate our vestibular system is - disruptions can affect our eyes, balance and so much more fwiw - http://vestibular.
