after that i went to several doctors but non of the eyhedrops work for me and i constantly have swollen eyelids and specially at night and at crease and lower lids. this summer one doctor gave me hydro cortisone which made it worse. even though it's been a long time i haven't used the product i still grow lashes specially at lower lids and some of them are loose and fall easily.
ve been using Latisse now for about 3 months and have really nice, long, lush lashes, aside from the patch that fell out. I have no idea how it happened, except maybe I was rubbing too hard to remove my makeup.
I've continued using Latisse every night since and have seen no growth whatsoever in the lash "blad spot". I don't even see the follicles where the hair should be coming from. I've had to wear eyeliner constantly because it's extremely noticeable.
I have optimalized my condition but so far I still have little eyebrows left.
she told me I should be a -4.25 r and l, and that everything else about my eyes looked totally healthy and normal. she said that with the lower prescription, i should find that my eyes feel better. well, it's been almost a week since i was given the lower prescription, and i'm having the same problems- trouble focusing (like my eyes are constantly tired), and i have a low grade headache and nausea. I'm not sure what I should do next?
I have been suffering dizziness for 2 months now. My doctor has done all kind of test and a CT and found nothing. I'm slightly love in iron but not iron difficient. I'm slightly low in B1. I'm currently taking supplement for iron and B1 for a week. The dizziness and nausea is constantly there, low grade but I had 3 attacks at 3 different times and it seemed to relate to my eyes somehow. I noticed my eyes are extremely dry lately, for the last few months.
OK, help. I'm 45, doc verified post-menopausal (yes, very very early) and the last couple of years I have significant darkening of my sclera (whites of my eyes). I have had hypothyroidism since I was about 20 and I take levothyroxine. I had my doc run a full blood / urine panel to ensure it wasn't thyroid/kidney/liver related (nope). I went to my Opthomologist and he said he agreed they were dark but could see nothing medically wrong with my eyes.
Hi Emsed. I posted a similar thread in the Derm Community under "Eyelashes-fell-out-and-not-growing-back-w-Latisse". I had a clump of mine just fall out for no apparant reason (the curling iron might've been the culprit, but I'd been curling my lashes for almost 12 years so it's doubtful). I'd also been using Latisse for years (under Revitalash when it wasn'y yet FDA approved and the product was available), so my lashes were always super long and lush.
regarding Lumigan and others like it, have people experienced growth of eyebrows and hair elsewhere as well like scalp hair? or is there good understanding of the active ingredients,that they can also help brows and scalp hair too?
I am not only thinning fair eyelashes, but also fair hair and eyebrows and in my 40s with only slight graying. so has lumigan been studied long enough to know if fair skinned/hair people get similar darkening and lenghtening benefits?
Just diagnosed w/ all three. Doc sez to use Restasis and artificial tears w/ no preservatives. Everything I read about Fuchs sez to dry it out, even w/ a hair dryer. Doc sez eye is damaged by current dryness and he cannot do the cataract 'til tears function better in a month or so. Will the Restasis increase the moisture and worsen the Fuchs? What is the failure rate on cataract w/IOL combined w/ dry eye combined w/ Fuchs? He is concerned w/ this combo.
I have had that too and noticed it the past couple of years...I'm 56 and not using Latisse or anything else. It does irritate my eye sometimes, and I have pulled them in the past.
Don't know if it's normal, but I never was concerned either.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Restasis is only available in the U.S. and a prescription is necessary I was told. I am in Montreal. What exactly is in this medication that is so helpful? Can a Canadian cross the border, visit a clinic, and get such a prescription because at this point, I am ready to try just about anything.
I see the top ophthamologist at one of the hospitals in Montreal and he told me to search the net for info on SLK as the man runs he has so many patients.
No restasis does not cause floaters. I have been on restasis for about 3 years and my wife 7 and I have hundreds of patients on restasis. Now floaters are common and can occur anytime. Thus people decide that their floaters are due to whatever they have been doing. Example attributing them to flying, reading, watching tv or having their pupils dilated. Remember it take 4-6 months for restasis to become fully effective.
My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?

Both my wife and I have moderately severe dry eyes. Both of us are on restasis with complete success. She for 6-7 years and me for one and a half year. IT WILL TAKE 6 MONTHS BEFORE YOU SEE THE FULL BENEFITS OF RESTASIS SO DON'T STOP THEM. Restasis eye drops does not cause cancer if it did neither my wife or I would be taking them.
I personally would not have plugs put in. they fall out, they can scratch the eye. If you're not on Omega 3 I would start them.
I have a moderate to serious dry eye. I am going to start my Restasis today and I know that I will not see the result till 2 months or more from now. I am also planning for a cataract surgery in 1 to 2 months. I also foresee that I will use some steroid or antibotics for a few weeks after the surgery. Do I need to stop Restasis once I start the steroid ?
what is latisse used for? has any one heard of it? i know its for eyes but what does it do?
I am having the same issue since starting Restasis about 2 months ago. The first month my vision seemed to be fine, but around week 6, my left eye has become very blurry at all times. Even my up close vision, which I've never had issues with has become blurry, and fuzzy. Also, everything in my left eye looks very dim, almost a shade of blue. I went to an eye specialist last week about this, and he told me that there were no signs of anything wrong.
Not all cases respond though and oral doxycycline and oral flax and fish oil are often very helpful. I also like to use commercial lid scrubs like ocusoft original to start with and sometimes sterilid cream works great. There is one other thing - demodex follicularis - which are little mites in the eyelash follicles. They can cause terrible blepharitis in some people and the doctor needs to look for that.
