At day 22, i took raltegravir from the box but im not sure whether i drank the pill with the water or not. Normally, I remember the pills that I drank through glass of water but i cannot remember this time whether i drank this pill with glass of water or not but i counted pills and i concluded that their numbers are as expected.
I searched couple of papers and i concluded not to double the dose in the case of i used that pill.
combining emtricitabine and tenofovir from the NRTI class, and raltegravir, from the integrase inhibitor class. There ARE alternative drugs available and possibly in Thailand they use lamivudine in place of raltegravir. I am definitely NOT a chemist, so I can't tell you for sure if the combination you're taking is appropriate. You should discuss your concerns with the doctor who prescribed PEP or a pharmacist/chemist. I wish you the best.
m considering asking him to prescribe me Rifampin for several reasons. They conducted a study which showed that chronic chlamydia-induced arthritis can be cured by 9 month combination therapy of doxycycline and rifampicin, Rifampin being useful due to its greater tissue penetration. Additionally, I read that among antibiotics Rifampin has the strongest action against chlamydia. However, it is not used in monotherapy, because of the rapidity with which bacteria develop resistance to it.
I cannot take Rifampin because it contains Omnicef which I am allergic to, so I should be ok right?
Soo I am gonna post a pic of my meds again like yesterday but in place of Rifampin, she is putting me on Septra(like Bactrim..its a sulfa) anyway please let me know if anyone has had experiences with this drug. And if u think this will be a good combo. I trust my LLD. And will do anything to get better. I am prepared for even bigger herx once I add the septra.. I am on everything except the Cefidinir(Omnicef) bc she is adding that after we add the Septra and sees if it is well tolerated.
I am supposed to start taking rifampin once a day and bacterium 2x a day. I'm just wondering how to space it out. The bactrim I will take every 12 hours but wanted to know if I can take the rifampin at any time? Together with bacterium?
I started PEP 2 hrs later (truvada, norvir, raltegravir, and preszita), my initial results are negative. I do not know the viral load of the patient yet, i can only pray that it is low. I know odds are 0.3% but that doesnt settle my fears, i am young and want to live a happy healthy life with KIDS! DR. please tell me if you have honstly heard of any cases like mine that have converted. I am in awe and feel like my life is totally over and ruined.
He was on hydroxyzine and prednisone. Now the doctor has put him on rifampin, USO and ambition.
I am currently taking truvada and isentress (raltegravir) is this enough I couldn't get my prescription for dolutegravir filled...is this pep enough?
Yes, they have me on Rifampin along with my Lyme meds now for awhile, and I have been told to stay on it, yet I am still afraid for when the next one will hit, its like having babies all over again! And with this herxing from the Lyme meds to top it all off, I just cant seem to get ahead here....I have cut down my protein consumption, I've read that it helps keep the cysts from growing too fast.
Thanks mojogal. What antibiotics did you use to treat lyme? I heard doxycycline can make it worse. My LLMD suspects bartonella since I have the swollen glands, rashes, shin pain, etc.
Please be very careful if your pet is ever put on rifampin. It is a very powerful antibiotic and made my kitten worse than what he was before he went on the antibiotic. He was so lovable and precious to me. I wish I never would have put him on this antibiotic for cat scratch disease. I loved him very much and will miss him. I have two older cats to help me get through, but this is just like losing one of your children. I have to go, starting to cry again.

m confused on the prescriptions given to me I have a 7 day dose of raltegravir and dolutegravir...thought it was supposed to be 28 days?
The only antibiotic that has ever been shown to interfere with birth control levels and effectiveness is a medicine called rifampin which is used to treat tuberculosis. Rifampin may also interfere with the birth control patch and vaginal ring so if you are taking it, be sure to use a back-up, non-hormonal (i.e. condom) form of birth control.

Thank you for the reply I was pretty sure antibiotics would not affect the implant at all have no idea why he would even mention it if it's not the antibiotic that can cause it to not work
I appreciate your blunt response. I was prescribed Truvada + raltegravir (PEP) but could not obtain raltegravir in Europe. To be fair, I called the US PEP hotline who told me that I could take Truvada as PEP as there are no studies that prove it’s ineffective, so I didn’t start it without advice from the US HIV experts. I agree my anxiety is an issue but I legitimately was seeking an answer.
Be sure you are not allergic to rifampin prior to taking it - if your health care provider is willing to prescribe rifampin. You can apply unfractionated coconut oil to your skin while using rifampin for some relief of the itching and "stabbing" or "skin pricking" sensations caused by springtails while taking rifampin prior to commencing use of ivermectin lotion. Note: ivermectin is hydrophobic. It does not mix or dissolve in water.
Anyways I rushed to the hospital and was put on PEP at a maximum of 3 hours post exposure (truvada and raltegravir). I have taken the pills without missing any doses. At 3 weeks post exposure the lymph nodes in my neck swelled up slightly and I felt a tiny bit feverish. Checking my temperature rectally though revealed it was always in the 37s. These strange symptoms lasted only 2 days...could this be ARS?
