Pulmonary angiogram lungs

Common Questions and Answers about Pulmonary angiogram lungs

angiogram

678571 tn?1228012270 I usually go to a cardiologist in another city. But my cardiologist could not perform my scheduled angiogram. My symptoms before this angiogram were chest pain with exertion of any kind. After this angiogram, I have had blood pressure problems, breathing problems, dry cough, shortness of breath and all the other symptoms that my cardiologist wanted me to do an angiogram for. He had said that if I needed an other stent put in. I would need a bypass even though I have small vessels.
Avatar m tn Pulmonary circulation disorder – Inability of the body to pull oxygen from the lungs into the bloodstream ( blood clot in lungs, pulmonary vascular disease, scarring in the lungs, heart failure). This shoud have already been done with the tests you have had! So, does the doctor want to do further testing for pulmonary embolism? _____________________ >>>>Has a chronotropic incompetence been considered?
Avatar f tn Tests that could evaluate patients with suspected pulmonary hypertension include chest x-ray and high-resolution CAT scanning, pulmonary function tests, and echocardiogram. Right heart catheterization or angiogra, as previously suggested can be used to confirm this diagnosis. Take care and do keep us posted.
1856046 tn?1330237245 Had an angiogram / pulmonary catheterization and everything looked great! They said my arteries looked as good as the day I was born. Hopefully they were OK back then! Good to get some good news once in awhile!
Avatar n tn (such as lung function tests, echocardiogram, CT scan and xrays etc...). Sometimes heart conditions cause low O2 levels if the lungs check out fine. Pulmonary hypertension and shunting are some examples of disorders that often drop your O2 levels. I hope you find answers soon...do the docs have you on O2 while walking? I hope so with those numbers.
Avatar m tn Without a doubt I would go for the non-intervention test with a CT angiogram and calcium score including pulmonary system, heart and descending aorta. You are a good candidate because you have a family history and you don't have CAD confirmed other than an EKG showing depressed ST segment. Your exercise tolerance is very good, but you have chest pain that comes and goes for the last 2-3 years and the pain didn't occur with the completion of the test.
6763842 tn?1385390664 Have you had tests that show your lungs are degenerating? There are pulmonary function tests, just as there are tests of heart function.
Avatar n tn Arteries supplying the Lungs and the general function of your lungs? You sit in front of a machine with a skuba diving type apparatus on your mouth and a computer analyses your lung functions.
Avatar n tn The normal CT scan of your lungs goes a long way toward that. Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT’s) and an exercise study with arterial blood gas determinations, if normal, would rule out other lung disease, with a high degree of certainty. At that point, it would not be unreasonable to look to anxiety, possibly with Panic Disorder, as the cause of your symptoms.
1645754 tn?1301146675 To have normal systole (pumping) of the left ventrical, and distolic (filling process) dysfunction can relate to the right side of the heart and possiblely high pulmonary pressures that are due to pulmonary (lung emboli (clots)) and or pulmonary artery thrombosis (clot). This will usually cause the rightside of the heart to not adequately supply blood to the lungs to be oxygenated. Less blood to the lungs, less blood to the left side (deficit in filling capacity) ventrical and DD...
Avatar f tn Your medical history, direct clinical examiantion and diagnostic tests such as ECG are important. Aside from cardiac issues, musculoskeletal, pulmonary and gastrointestinal conditions should also be evaluated. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I have not been told any thing about the pulmonary hypertension it was diagonesed during a routine angiogram I have mitral and aortic incompetence from rhuematic fever as a child.
Avatar n tn A collapsed lung (pneumothorax), high blood pressure in the arteries carrying blood to the lungs (pulmonary hypertension) and asthma also can produce chest pain. ■Sore muscles. Chronic pain syndromes, such as fibromyalgia, can produce persistent muscle-related chest pain. ■Injured ribs or pinched nerves. A bruised or broken rib, as well as a pinched nerve, can cause chest pain. ■Swallowing disorders.
Avatar f tn Dear Dr, I have recently at the age of 57 yrs, been diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy after a near collapse and a subsequent angiogram which showed that the pressures in my heart were too high. I also have a past history of sarcoidosis and cardiac involvement, over 30 yrs ago, which I thought I had recently recovered from. At the moment I am able to work full time, but get breathless and tight in the chest if I walk too fast or climb stairs. My ECG was normal.
Avatar n tn I had triple by-pass surgery back in February, 2008, and had another angiogram back on September 8, 2008, as I am having alot of chest tightening and breathing problems. The chest tightening and breathing problems will get worse if I do activities and even with just no activity at all. In the last few weeks, even just sitting or lying down in bed will bring on chest tightening and breathing problems.
Avatar f tn Now they says to take angiogram test. Please let me know whether angiogram is necessary in this stage as already she takes treatment for lungs she is more weak in health wise. We are confused....Please guide how to proceed...Currently the doctor gave this tablets for ten days: dopah, tonact, cordarone tablets..
Avatar n tn During a stress test my cardiologist noted a change in my EKG that concerned him, which prompted the first angiogram 3 years ago. If I continue at a moderate pace the angina disappears-like clockwork, beginning at about 13-15 minutes, and by 20 minutes it is completely gone. I can then push myself to the limits of my heart and respiratory rate. Once I get "warmed up", start sweating, everything is fine.
Avatar n tn THANK YOU ..
Avatar m tn I had a Pulmonary function test , results were clear lungs 93% o2, my bp runs 183/ 108 to 98/ 78 with a resting pulse of 112- 125. I have always been very active and still try to maintain my excerise, i just have to stop every 6-10 minutes and catch my breath, this takes about the same amount of time. When I run out of air it feels like I am fighting for air. I have small chest pains everytime I do excerise. I take nitro about 4 times a week.
Avatar n tn PTB is Pulmonary Tuberculosis, or TB, is an infectious bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which most commonly affects the lungs. It usually affects the apical portion of the lungs. It is transmitted from person to person via droplets from the throat and lungs of people with the active respiratory disease. Undetermined activity means, the findings identified in imaging studies could be due to an active infection or due to an old infection.
Avatar f tn predominantly necrotic and inflamatory debris with blood. reactive and degenerating bronchial epithelial cells with pulmonary macrophages present, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Avatar n tn A congenital heart murmur and anomolous right coronary artery (pinched between my aorta and pulmonary artery, attached to the bottom left side of my heart. Discovered in '00 (52 years young at the time) was told I had a "runner's heart" and yes, I could keel over immediately. Right mammary artery CABG was discovered to be totally occluded after 6 months.
Avatar m tn After complaining for years about exercise induced shortness of breath and after being prescribed inhalers which did no good, HMO performed a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) with a gas diffusion component. Previous tests did not perform the single breath carbon-monoxide test. My oxygen saturation is normally in the low 90's. It drops into the mid 80's when walking on flat surface at sea level at a reasonable walking pace.
Avatar m tn QUOTE: In echo there were only two impressions: 1. Diastolic relaxations abnormally and 2. mitral trivial regugation. and some medicines were advised. it has 5 10 days gone and my father is feeling well however he is feeling weakness also. Diastolic is the filling phase of the heart cycle.
Avatar n tn Today the doctor gave me the results and said I have Pulmonary hypertension. He will be referring me for a CT angiogram. This blew me away because I have been complaining of shortness of breath to my previous doctor for a couple of years now. The last time I saw her I told her that it was really starting to concern me. She said it was because I am overweight. I told her no, that I thought it was more than that.
Avatar f tn An angiogram is a test that injects a contrast dye into the blood stream and takes images of heart vessel blood flow. An interventional angiogram is with a cath, a CT scan 64 slice angiogram is almost as good as a cath and can be a test of choice. There should be some concern as the condition if not treated can develop into heart failure, arrhythmia, etc.
