A cardiologist may order the test to get a clear picture of the heart, the aorta (the main artery carrying oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body), the lungs and the coronary arteries. My lungs showed slight abnormalities in the right and left lobes (probably from smoking years ago!).
The main difference between the two tests is that the ct angioplasty shows the anatomy of the entire vessel (not just the lumen).
Pulmonary circulation disorder – Inability of the body to pull oxygen from the lungs into the bloodstream ( blood clot in lungs, pulmonary vascular disease, scarring in the lungs, heart failure). This shoud have already been done with the tests you have had! So, does the doctor want to do further testing for pulmonary embolism?

Have they done a CT or angiogram to make sure the grafts are working? I had shortness of breath and dizziness 3 months after my triple bypass and the surgeon refused to believe anything was wrong. He used his magic stethascope which obviously did an ECG, echo, angiogram and nuclear perfusion scan all in one. His stethascope said everything is doing great. I went to a different hospital and they did an angiogram. It revealed that the Lima was open, but the 2 veins were totally collapsed.
I have had a ct scan angiogram and cath. My ct scan was more inclusive as it took images of the lungs, heart and thorax. It showed the complete anatomy of the heart vessels that included any soft plaque within the lining of the vessel. The ct software scored the soft plaque and evaluated the risk of a rupture. It also discloses any hard plaque within the lumen (vessel channel).
The cath views the lumen for plaque, and has the ability to determine gradient pressures of chambers and vessels..
Pulmonary hypertension usually results from constriction of the blood vessels that supply blood to the lungs. It becomes difficult for blood to pass through the lungs, making it harder for the heart to pump blood forward. This stress on the heart leads to enlargement of the heart and eventually fluid can build up in the liver and tissues, such as the legs. Increasing shortness of breath and dizziness may also be experienced.
For years I always made a distinction by identifying chest angina with angina pec to avoid any misunderstanding. I related to inflammation of the mucous membranes of the throat, and merely making a distinction of the chest pains related angina pectoris, GERD, burning sensation in the throat, etc. and throat pain association with an infection throat membranes.
Vincent's Angina ia an acute necrotizing infection of the pharynx. Sometimes called Plaunt's angina.
The doctor said there is a very very mild change in the stress test and considering my family history (2 of my fathers younger brothers died due to heart attack) suggested for an invasive angiogram to rule out any possibility of a heart problem. He also added it need not be done immediately but may in period of 2 to 3 months.
With the above can anyone tell me how serious is my problem is and how fast should i det done the angiogram. Should i go for invasive or non invasive.
The muscle of the left ventricle is mildly thickened. This can occur when the heart has to work hard to pump the blood through the body. This can be caused by high blood pressure but also i.e. with a not optimal working aortic valve.
Adequate LV Systolic function:
This means that the left ventricle function fine during the contraction phase.
LV diastolic dysfunction:
This means that the left ventricle does not relax very well in the non-contraction phase.
The non-invasive CT-scan 64-slice angiogram provides a complete anatomy of the coronary areteries as well as the respiratory system (lungs, etc.). This test is especially recommended for someone who has a family history as it views any sodft plaque that may build up between the inner layer and outer layer of the vessel. Soft plaque is high risk for heart attack as the soft plaque may rupture through the inner layer causing a blood clot that can cause a heart attack or stroke.

I had an angiogram and my doctor said my left coronaries were about 20% blocked. My non-dominant right coronary artery is about 70-80% blocked but the doctor left me a voice mail saying that stenting was not called for because the right coronary supplies blood to the right ventricle which pumps blood into the lungs (a low pressure area). My question is: why would stenting be uncalled for, why not fix the problem?
I've heard some athletes have asthma. How do they do it? When I was really young (9-10 years old) the doctors told me I had Asthma, but I think I must've grown out of it or something. Anyways, recently I've had some breathing issues. I've been through all the EKGs, had a CT angiogram, and visited the Pulmonologist, so that means I've been told whatever I may have is not super serious. If I do have some asthma though, it may be more exercise induced. What do athletes do?
They all show my ejection fraction to be normal and some minor things, but nothing to be alarmed at. .In May of 2015 I let him do another angiogram and he went back and revasularized the circumlex. He whispered in my ear that there had been no disease progression and everything looked good. Now, for some reason he's being more aggressive. My total cholesterol is down to 104 and I worry that this is too low.
