provigil tachycardia

I take Coreg for bp and tachycardia and am also taking Provigil. I get relief from my fatigue on just 100mg a day and have had no problem with the bp. I have noticed some mild tachycardia recently, but I think it may be connected to the recent switch to generic Coreg. I'm curious . . . can tachycardia be caused by MS?

I received a letter of denial for Provigil coverage after a free week's trial (from the drug company). The Provigil made a world of difference, but is really expensive. My other option is Ritalin, and I don't like the sound of the side effects. I had no negative ones from Provigil.

Ugh! I've been on provigil for the last couple of months, and have felt better than I have in a year and a half. Then, I realize that getting up at 4:30 in the morning is NOT a norm for me. I stopped the provigil for a couple of days and BAM!, I feel awful again. Now I'm wondering, have I been manic(I am bi-polar)? Is this just the chronic fatigue again? My BP goes up when I'm on the provigil and I don't even take my midodrine.

More things went on with the blood pressure situation. He believes I probably have POTS. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (had to copy and paste that baby!) I had to be googling that one of course, had no idea what that was. He did also order an MRI of the C spine. Any thoughts on this? He decided this after we went over the foot situation. As he was hammering on that leg (R) it went crazy swinging. He put me on Provigil and approved my scooter, yeah!

My neuro suggested maybe trying Ritalin.....he says Provigil is the best, but it is kind of pricey even w/ my insurance.......So is Provigil worth it? ....Has anyone tried Ritalin? Has anyone had any weird s/e w/ either med??? I would be very grateful for any input....

For me the Provigil has helped my thinking clarity a lot in addition to the fatigue.

I'm talking about coverage of medications. I've mentioned before that my insurance won't cover Provigil because I don't have a diagnosis, though a trial of it helped me a great deal. I called the company that makes it today, to inquire about their Patient Assistance Program. If you have any insurance, you aren't eligible for their help, even if your insurance won't pay for their medication.

I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?

This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.

Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...

Has anyone tried ProVigil? My sleep specialist suggested that I try it for the deep tiredness that I experience, even after getting great help with sleep from my CPAP machine. By the way, my trip to Seattle went very well. Though it is indeed very hilly, the cooler weather and low humidity made it easier to get around than here is muggy Baltimore. The weather seems to have a huge impact on this disease.

Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!

I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.

I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.

s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.

I just read this in the "Health" Section of Foxnews.com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached.

I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. I'm wondering if this will really help or possibily aggravate my dizziness from stairs and mild exertion.

A decent GP would be the place to start ..... provigil is actually indicated for treatment of CFS .......... Its an expensive drug at 10.00 a pill prescription.....lots of insurance companies dont wish to cover it for that reason...... but it is being widely used now - - it will most likely be rescheduled before long because it has more of the shortcomings that straight amphetamines have than was thought during trials........

Hi everybody, I went to my doctor today regarding my tireness and how I still have tremors in the legs and hands, He put me on provigil, he also shared with me that he feels when my thyroid is out of whack its causeing this attack on something that would otherwise was dorment? He wants to still rule out ms but if i dont have ms he wants to start searching for the other things he has in mind. He refused to say what!!!!!! wants me to focus on ruling out ms.

So now my Dr is thinking of prescribing Provigil. Has anyone tried this drug. If so does it work well for fatigue. I read that it helps with focus but I haven't read anything about it helping with tiredness.

After all this time, three years at least, my insurance company is no longer approving me for Provigil. This drug is the one thing that I've taken that has made a huge impact on the quality of my life. Without it, I'm unable to think clearly and I'm too fatigued to get up out of bed or off the couch. I may have to retire on disability because there's no way I will be able to teach. The drug also helps with the ADD (diagnosed after the MS as an adult, LOL).

I have been diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy. I also have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) which is caused by the autonomic neuropathy. I am working with some very good neurologists who have not been able to find find the cause of my neuropathy but we are still trying. I also have problems with muscle fatigue which no one can find a cause for. I do not have diabetes. I take a low dose of Propranolol to help with the tachycardia.

I even feel the effects of the Provigil the next day (though not nearly as strong). Actually the Provigil fades out about 8 hours after I take it, but I sure do sleep well that night! The next day, I have slightly more energy than usual. I love Provigil, but, due to the chest fullness, can't use it very often so that is why I was considering Adderall (I'm also ADD). In your opinion, how did the Adderall compare to the Provigil in terms of fatigue reduction?

Hi All Posted a few days ago maybe a week about fatiuge alot of you advised to go my GP which i will and i have a rheumy and consultant appoinment in august so will bring it up there i have researched what is out there and the most popular seem to be this provigil but it is a has something to do with the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain and i have been on requip and other dopamine meds as my rheumy seems to think these are greast but my body hates them i go mad on them!!
