764202 tn?1234594248 I worked for 10years in the silicon Valley in Ca.I have blood gas of 66 and the doc said he is sure I have silicosis and nothing can be done. I am on oxygen I get out of breath very fast with out it. What test can be done to make sure that is what I have? I am 69 years old had heart bypass 8 years ago. While doctor was doing an anagram he went though the artery so I ended up with open heart operation. I had blood transduction etc I am lucky to still be here.
Avatar m tn I saw an asian prostitute at a massage parlor (condo) in the silicon valley. She performed unprotected oral sex then unprotected analingus. I had a sore/rip near my bottom part of my anus during the incident. We finally did protected vaginal sex. I understand by reading the forum that unprotected oral is not an exposure for HIV. How about the unprotected analingus with a tear in the anus? After the exposure, I felt itchy and an irritation around my anus.
Avatar f tn I'm in silicon valley - nothing yet lol
649848 tn?1534633700 Christiansen calls the strategy “going protean,” referring to the concept of “Protean Corporations,” first described in Silicon Valley journalist Michael Malone’s 2009 book “The Future Arrived Yesterday.” Protean corporations are defined by their ability to “shape-shift” and rapidly adapt to market forces, often tapping contracted talent to do so.
Avatar m tn After one year when silicon oil was removed he again started facing problem as his retina was started contracting, so Dr again injected heavy silicon oil and told that now we are going to keep silicon oil for lifetime in his eye as his eye is very sensitive. but he also told that silicon oils have time period and due to which they are required to get exchanged with the fresh one after few years. My only concern is that, is it safe to live life with the silicon oil inside the eye?
937868 tn?1570328281 Yes you need to have the old bag and silicon removed. In fact this coild be causing the inflamation that is causing your fibromyalgia. I assume u had the silicon gel (not the new jelly bean kind but the old gel, thicker than liquid silicon but not as thick as the new jelly bean type bags. The molecule size in the silicon gel should not be able to penetrate the surrounding tissue but it shouldn't just stay there either. Please seek a PS to assess your situation but don't be scared.
Avatar m tn I am now thinking to get a third opinion. Would anyone have a good recommendation for an Eye Specialist in the Silicon Valley (San Jose area ) ? Appreciate the responses.
Avatar n tn I came from the computer field in Silicon Valley in California and my migraines began all of a sudden at work. An attack where I could not walk and almost could not speak...confused. I never fully recovered after that. I mean...I have chronic migraines every week and can not work. I can manage however. I learned that FLOURESCENT LIGHT brings on migraines for me. Also NOISE, change in weather, stress, look up diet online and cut down on salt.
Avatar n tn I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
5509293 tn?1428531475 This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.
401095 tn?1351391770 Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...
390916 tn?1204840470 Has anyone tried ProVigil? My sleep specialist suggested that I try it for the deep tiredness that I experience, even after getting great help with sleep from my CPAP machine. By the way, my trip to Seattle went very well. Though it is indeed very hilly, the cooler weather and low humidity made it easier to get around than here is muggy Baltimore. The weather seems to have a huge impact on this disease.
518001 tn?1212419235 Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!
1088527 tn?1425313375 I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . 565254 tn?1224716453 I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.
Avatar f tn s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.
Avatar f tn I dont know if this is accurate or not, but I thought it should be shared. I just read this in the "Health" Section of Foxnews.com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached.
619930 tn?1260374254 I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. I'm wondering if this will really help or possibily aggravate my dizziness from stairs and mild exertion.
Avatar m tn A decent GP would be the place to start ..... provigil is actually indicated for treatment of CFS .......... Its an expensive drug at 10.00 a pill prescription.....lots of insurance companies dont wish to cover it for that reason...... but it is being widely used now - - it will most likely be rescheduled before long because it has more of the shortcomings that straight amphetamines have than was thought during trials........
Avatar f tn on the addictions forum someone brought up the topic provigil for energy, i have been clean for a while now but i have hep so my energy level is very low, and i also have under active thyroid so my question is this, when i researced this new drug i found """PROVIGIL is a federally controlled substance (C-IV) because it has the potential to be abused or lead to dependence.
