protonix

Avatar f tn I went to see family doc and he did blood test to rule out pancreatitis (result came back normal), and put me on Protonix 40mg, once a day. I took for couple of weeks, and felt ok, so stopped, but pain would come back, so went back on it couple of days later. The bottle had 30pills, and one refill. After I took for 30days, I was off of it couple of days but again, the pain was coming back, so I went to get refill, and started taking daily.

Avatar m tn I am an 18 year old male and I have dyspepsia (uncomfortable movements in the stomach) and I take 40 mg Protonix a day for the stomach. Lately I have been having small chest pains that come and go for a most 2 minutes. Yesterday I started having theses weird floating (not quite fluttering) sensations in my throat and chest. At the same time my vision goes dim and I feel lightheaded like I am about to faint. The lightheadedness only lasts for 2 seconds. It is very worrying.
Avatar m tn Currently, I am taking Protonix in the am and pm for heartburn problems that I have had for about 3 years (Dr thinks that it was likely GURD related symptoms). Recently replaced Protonix with Dexilant in the pm. Any advice would be great.

1952776 tn?1325606457 My liver enzymes over the years have been elevated off and on but no jaundice just fatty liver. Because my ANA is so high and I tested positive for the RA they went ahead and tested me for lupus. The lupus came back negative but I did test positive for the AntiSmooth Muscle Antibodys which I guess means auto immune hepatitis. My question is: Is there anyway you can have a false positive? I take the following meds.

Avatar f tn Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.
Avatar f tn The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? I was told that some PPI's could take 4 to six weeks to take affect.
Avatar f tn Ok so I had a upper Gi test done tuesday and they found I had little gastritis of the stomach and esophagitis and that my stomach was making to much acid. I been on protonix for 2 weeks now and after every meal and bedtime I take mylanta. I still feel sick all the time. Also i have very smelly green poop??????? How long can this take sometimes. what else can i rule out? Why could I be making to much stomach acid???? Please help its been three weeks a 2 days.
Avatar f tn actually medicaid will pay for protonix or a generic version of it...I had gotten it filled three X just recently.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am new at this and just joined today, but have had the same symptoms. I have GERD and take Protonix for it...however, I still will have those episodes where it starts in the center of my chest and runs up my jaw and into my ear; sometimes when its really bad I feel it in the middle of my back and swear it has to be a heart attack! This will happen without exertion, whether sitting, standing or talking. I have done the treadmill, ecocaadiogram and multiple EKG's to no avail.
750120 tn?1252455030 I've heard that Pancreatitis can be extremely painful and temporarily debilitating. Stay strong. Your subject stated "Hospitalization for Hep-c related Pancreatitis." Why do you think is was the Hep C?
Avatar f tn My doctor never indicated a length of time for taking it, he only listed refills on the bottle. Can I stop taking Protonix without the reflux becoming unbearable?
Avatar f tn I've been taking Prilosec for a month now, it started helping but then stopped. Then when I went to my doctor Thursday, she switched me to Protonix. If they are basically the same, could Protonix work for me if Prilosec OTC didn't? I'd really like to know because I've had this problem for almost 3 months now and I'm tired of eating plain food.
Avatar f tn I was on Protonix for awhile for acid reflux, then was switched to Nexium, which I still take. The Inderal, I think, is a beta blocker, which makes heartburn worse. So does aspirin. That's probably why you were given Protonix. I don't take a beta blocker nor do I use aspirin, Advil, or Aleve because they make reflux worse. I do take one other med that causes mild reflux, but I have to take that for the rest of my life. So, I take a low dose of Nexium.
Avatar f tn Hi Welcome to the forum! Foul smelling gas and stool are seen in steatorrhea. Other causes are Celiac disease (came back negative for you), sprue, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, disaccharidase enzyme deficiency, fatty stools with no known cause (idiopathic steatorrhea), infections of the large intestine, malabsorption syndromes, and short bowel syndrome. The symptoms you experience can be due to any of these.
543435 tn?1282242679 Has any doctor ever suggested he may have chronic pancreatitis? You can have chronic pancreatitis and have flares of acute pancreatitis. This can be hereditary or from drinking or many other reasons. If you have this disease then you are unable to digest a lot of food. Sticking to a low fat diet and taking specially prescribed enzymes to help digest food seems to help some people with this. Usually a diagnosis is made from an endoscopic ultrasound procedure or from CT scan.
