87972 tn?1322661239 “Medtronic, a Minneapolis-based drug device company, recently announced that it has started a clinical trial to evaluate a pump that delivers a continuous infusion of interferon alfa-2b (Intron A) for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The trial will test the same type of pump used for continuous insulin delivery for people with type 1 diabetes.
484033 tn?1208516117 FOLFOX is a chemotherapy regimen which includes a combination of intravenous Oxaliplatin, Leucovorin, and Fluorouracil given as a continuous infusion over 2 days (not 3). From my experience in using this regimen in colorectal cancer patients, it's remarkably well tolerated. The adverse effects are due to the Oxaliplatin and Fluorouracil (I have discussed this in an earlier post I sent you) but these are usually mild.
Avatar f tn t infusing properly, it would be noticeable within the transparent infusion drip line. And, the infusion nurse would have probably noticed it. Best wishes to you and take care!
Avatar m tn Im looking for answers. For 2 years I had continuous stomach pain, heartburn and chest pains. I was seen numerous times in the ER when the pain got to bad. Everytime I was told there was nothing wrong. Finally one doctor decided to do a hida scan and found I had a low function gallbladder. it was only 17%. In November I had my gallbladder removed. I had a lot of pain and the heartburn instantly returned.. and I would get nauseas with one bite of food.
Avatar f tn My medication consists of Tambocor (anti arythemic heart med) high blood pressure meds, cholosteral meds, protonix for gerd, baby aspirin, xanax. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pharmacist says no drug interaction actions.
Avatar f tn I am 16weeks now and finally starting to feel normal I am taking zofran (which did nothing for me my first pregnancy) and protonix (for the acid reflux) and now I can eat.
Avatar n tn In July, my bloodwork was normal, but my iron serum and transferrin saturation was low (iron serum was 30 and saturation was 8%). Hemataologist did 4 weeks of IV infusion (Ferracet?) and bloodwork is now worse. Iron serum is now 27, saturation is 8%, TIBC is normal and ferretin jumped from 35 to 135. However, hemoglobin dropped from 12.5 to 11.7. Hematocrit dropped from 37.5 to 34.5. RBC are now 3.9 and low MCV. What does this mean? I am a 45 yo female.
Avatar f tn They admitted me immediately and had the infusion started within a couple of hours. I had a continuous ketamine infusion run for the following 7 days, (the pain "broke" on day 4) then after 24 hours of observation I was released. Once again with this treatment I didn't experience much in the way of side effects except for feeling a little "high and happy" every now and then.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there on Protonix? I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on Nexium which helped slightly with my burping but I was still getting stomach aches. I went for an abdominal ultrasound, endescopy and CT scan with IV contrast and all came back fine. My Dr just switched me to Protonix.
Avatar f tn The Dr gave me Nexium, but I was still getting upper stomach pain and pressure in the chest an back. I was switched to Protonix and it seemed to help with the upper stomach pain right under the breastbone. I'm taking two pills a day. Does anyone know how long Protonix takes to work? I was told that some PPI's could take 4 to six weeks to take affect.

1164212 tn?1262913001 Today I had to have some type of IV infusion with steroid and depakote - it has been 7 hours since IV and still no relief. I take inderal daily as a preventative, migranal, midrin, lortab and phengran in that order as needed to maintain/relief migraine. This last migraine started 1/1/10 and is still here. I am a non smoker and non drinker - it is beginning to effect my job performance. I'm not sure what to do from here.
Avatar f tn t have medicaid and yesterday my health insurance company said I must use generic of Prilosec first and if it does not work I guess my doc can request the Protonix. I really feel a difference not having the Protonix. Glad you can receive it. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I called it a poisoning because she was IVed with Protonix twice even though her drs knew she was allergic.Allergic reactions to Protonix are many and are 99 times out of 100 diagnosed as something else.Unfortunately a certain number of patients will experience severe reactions to Protonix such as pancreatitis. That is why Altana, the German company who developed Protonix made Wyeth set aside monies to cover such reactions before they sold the patent to Wyeth.
Avatar f tn Then when I went to my doctor Thursday, she switched me to Protonix. If they are basically the same, could Protonix work for me if Prilosec OTC didn't? I'd really like to know because I've had this problem for almost 3 months now and I'm tired of eating plain food.
Avatar m tn By the third treatment the headache was almost gone, and by the sixth treatment it was completely gone. I felt well and experienced slow but continuous improvement over the next nine months, gradually regaining strength and energy. But about a month ago the same unmistakable headache returned, so I have begun a second UVBI series.
925522 tn?1243968666 I have phenitone infusion every 5 weeks how does this work i feel ill for a couple of ays after is this normal
Avatar f tn I went to see family doc and he did blood test to rule out pancreatitis (result came back normal), and put me on Protonix 40mg, once a day. I took for couple of weeks, and felt ok, so stopped, but pain would come back, so went back on it couple of days later. The bottle had 30pills, and one refill. After I took for 30days, I was off of it couple of days but again, the pain was coming back, so I went to get refill, and started taking daily.
436191 tn?1256646306 We found no significant difference in outcome in patients who underwent HIDA scan with CCK infusion, regardless of gallbladder ejection fraction or exacerbation of symptoms caused by the infusion. Preoperative symptom complex was also not predictive of postoperative outcome. LC is an effective treatment for patients with acalculous gallbladder disease. A preoperative HIDA scan with CCK infusion does not accurately predict treatment success or failure.
Avatar n tn I've been offered the oppurtunity to participate in a Dexcom Trial, and I'm rather psyched by the idea (heck, its the closest I've come to using a continuous glucose moniter) but I was looking at pics of the apparatus,(on CWD) and gee, that stuff look lethal. (Especially the inserter)I couldn't find much info (online) about it- would anyone know if the receiver thingie is connected to the sensor pod?
Avatar f tn They have given her infusion therapy and now think it sounds like fluid leaking into the brain even though MRI did not show anything. Gave shots of saline solution in spine but that only helped for about 5 minutes. She has been coming to work--because she feels a bit better after having been in bed all night--but the bad feeling starts right up and she's on the floor of the office. What might this be?
