observation if another biopsy done in 04/09 shows increase in positive cores to 3 or more or if any one core shows 50%+ positive for cancer? Also, is there any current opinion regarding use of Avodart or Proscar while in Watchful Waiting mode? I understand there would be a likely reduction in PSA, but that new PSA baseline be established and return to monitoring of PSA velocity. Not sure what, if any, benefit this would provide.
s due to using findriside for hair loss. My hair is fine but not worth it now. I only just noticed it four days ago and have immediately stoped taking the medication. Would you say I have done permanent damage or when the findristride is totaly out if my system will it all go back to normal. I have an okay sex life and I am 32.
Propose that your partner try Avodart. I think it really helps with prostate enlargement. That is what the television commercials say anyhow.
Unfortunately it also can cause a large reduction in semen production.
AND women wanting to become pregnant should NEVER touch the pill as it can cause birth defects if they are exposed at all to it.
You can Google Avodart read all of this yourself from a variety of sites, including Avodart's manufacturer.
The Proscar can reduce your PSA by 50%, so future PSA results will have to account for that reduction. Meaning you may have to double your next score for a true value.
You need to make it clear what your status was when you took the last PSA test 1.35. Had you already been on Proscar for some time?

s for benign prostate enlargement, and the results were rather mixed. Then Proscar came along and pretty much ended that debate. Saw Palmetto has faded into the background - it's possible you affected your DHT levels, but it will definitely only be temporary. I quit Proscar for that reason, best not to fool around with sex hormone levels, in my opinion.

Medications include oral, intramuscular and transdermal agents, but results vary a lot. Before you start any medication, I suggest you try a natural approach: physical exercise + DHEA, vitamins C,D, B, E and fish oil. Make sure you're not taking any meds that may influence your hormone levels, e.g. finasteride (brand names Propecia, Proscar) for male pattern baldness. I have been taking Proscar to help reduce facial hair and increase scalp hair prior to having any of these symptoms as I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) since I was 29. I am now 60. I am concerned that the Proscar may have caused my symptoms, but my endo says no. I asked them to see which ovary the high testosterone is coming from but they want to take both ovaries.
my 12 yr old is currently seeing an oncologist as he a lesion on his right mandible which they described in ct scan as high potential of sinister pathology, he had one biopsy which came back with nothing nasty and then he had another biopsy where they have taken 3 samples and swabs ,we dont get results til the 11th aug.. can anyone tell us do you think this is cancer as sarcoma?? was written in his notes ,i just want to be prepared for my sons sake.

Over the past few weeks have started to notice small unintentional movements in various parts of my body: legs, hands, fingers, feet, arms. This isn't muscle twitching or spasms, rather my extremities move very slightly often after performing some kind of function with them. For example, I move my arm and after the intended movement it will jerk/contract very slightly in some direction very quickly and stop -- almost as if the muscles in my arm are contracting very quickly and releasing.
During the last two years large biopsies were not taken (even if PSAs have ben followed and free-PSA has been between 6 and 9) but when I think the April results, I am still puzzled??Should I ask a re-evaluation of these biopsies? How likely it is that I am really 'clean' of cancer under such tumor volume conditions?
Just had my blood results back my iron is 145 but my ferritin is 27. Been getting concerned as im loosing a lot of hair to late to ring the midwife any ideas what these readings mean?
