Hi,
I'm not familiar with the Proscar, but have been on Flomax from 1994 till 2008. At first it was believed that problems with urination were due to an obstruction at the bladderneck. In 1995 at the age of 30, I had a T'URP and resection of the bladderneck. Later after a urodynamics test, I was found to have a neurogenic bladder. The Flomax worked for me to enable me to urinate during the day. I also used self catheterization to ensure that my bladder was empty.
he tried avodart for 1 year but not worked good for him thats why he stop and try another drug name proscar...
m 19 years old and I took saw palmetto for about 5 days because it is known to increase sex drive and help with erectile function. After 5 days of use, it lowered sex drive and made my erectile dysfunction way worse. I just need to know if this is at all permanent. Has anyone else had experiences with this? I only took it for 5 days so im not as worried but I just dont know at this point. Any help is really appreciated.
I'm 24 and used to be an outgoing, energetic and happy person. My wife now says to me, "You aren't the same person I married!". I'm depressed, I'm fatigued, I have next to no libido at all (Which is what is hurting our marriage), weight gain, worsening gynocomastia, extreme irritability and I desperately want to feel better. I haven't felt normal for almost 2 years and my irritability is sooo difficult to control.
I am 77 years old and have been taking Flomax for about 2 years. I have had cool thermo therapy for enlarged prostrate about 2 years ago.
Unrination is really no problem anymore, but I have a problem with getting erections and now when I ejaculate I have no semon in me. Also have a runny nose mostly in the a.m.
What is your advice and opinion for this problem.

During the last two years large biopsies were not taken (even if PSAs have ben followed and free-PSA has been between 6 and 9) but when I think the April results, I am still puzzled??Should I ask a re-evaluation of these biopsies? How likely it is that I am really 'clean' of cancer under such tumor volume conditions?
I am 67 years old, and have gradually developed some symptoms which I think suggest BPH. [not on Proscar etc.].
However, my PSA is now 1,8.[risen 0.5 over 18 months]

This is not the best alternatives because studies show that prostates respond best to there drugs like proscar if they are 40 grams or larger and it takes 6-12 months to work . Start with the urodynamic evaluation to determine the correct reason for the retention, but most men his age are obstructed and will probably need surgery at some point. Good Luck.

More because of drugs, but after detox (62 days ago ) people in detox were telling me i shed more then a dog, if it grows back it would be amazing
5 days later he had prostrate problems and ended up leaving the hospital with a catheter. He ended up with an infection and after taking proscar and flowmax for 5 months (and using the single use catheter) he went in for an opening of the urethra. He since has had recurrent bladder infections, terrible gas and bloating. He is still on nitrofurantion (2 pills a day for 5 days) one pill a day for 30. He has no relief. He is up every night with terrible pains.

im a 21 year old student. I recently had uprotected sex and recieved oral sex. Within a week my throat was soar, but that eventually went away. Then my uretha and just the tip of my penis would itch, not burn but itch. I noticed about 12-24 hours after ejaculation it would occur. I was positive I had an STD, I got tested twice, nothing. I don't have any problems urinating, no bumps, rashes on penis.

I first had a burning sensation when I urinated about two weeks after unprotected sex. I went to get treated at a clinic and got a shot and a presciption. took all medicine and still had same problem. i have been to different clinics and even the emergency room only to not be told anything and not being cured. I have sought out a urologist who said he detected a high count of white blood cells. I was prescribed procrit or proscar for an extended period of time.
For example, I move my arm and after the intended movement it will jerk/contract very slightly in some direction very quickly and stop -- almost as if the muscles in my arm are contracting very quickly and releasing. It kind of seems like a small electrical shock is sent to that part of the body and it just...reacts without my say so.
This isn't adversely affecting my life, but I am becoming increasingly aware of it. Just now as I type my thumb/hand noticably jerked.
25 years old, 60 Kg (~130 pounds). This means that I am skinny and can feel my bones almost everywhere. Im not a doctor but had prostate cancer and 45 radiation treatments. Im ok now and my psa has been steady at .08. Well i guess you already know about retrograde ej. My psa was 4.7 and had a biopsey and discovered it. Ive learned that the best warning sign is called a spike in the psa. Like from 1 to 4. I dont see a spike with yours. Just keep checking with your doctor.
