Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar n tn Please note that propranolol is a beta blocker and, in addition to quelling anxiety, will lower blood pressure. Generally speaking this medication is not given if the systolic blood pressure falls below 100.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if anyone has used propranolol or has an educated opinion on both its use in ED and possible interactions. Then of course there is the possible addition of Cialis.
Avatar f tn I've had a rough couple of weeks, herxing like crazy with my mood going downward. I know I need to make some changes and have put an email into my Doc with no answer...The 3 new drugs I've started in the last 2 weeks are Mepron, Propranolol, and Methyl-Guard plus. I'm wondering which of these is causing the depression. If it's the mepron I'm off it for 2 weeks but I never want to take it again.

Avatar m tn Hi, I've now wanted to talk about a major part of my anxiety that I feel has impacted my life and has made me become reliant on propranolol. You see, ever since my anxiety got worse I have developed cardiophobia. I started to become obsessed with my heart and worried non stop about heart attacks and disease. So much that I took more propranolol tablets and became addicted to heart rate apps. Now I no longer use the apps but I feel like the propranolol are what's keeping me stable.
Avatar n tn The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
Avatar n tn I usually have high blood pressure. I'm on propranolol to control it, a very low dose of propranolol at that, but for the past few days, my blood pressure has been exceptionally low. My heart rate too, for example this morning my blood pressure is 112/66 heart rate 61. It's been like this the past few days, heart rate as low as 54 and blood pressure as low as 100/59. What's up with this?
Avatar n tn I know that I shouldn't be using cocaine because it can lead to death. I have been trying to stop but I have had trouble. I'm currently taking 40mg of propranolol twice a day. I originally was taking it for anxiety, but now i feel as though it is good for my drug problem and saves me from having a heart attack. Is this true? Because I feel as though the propranolol slows down my heart rate and makes my pulse lower than it would be if i just did coke.
Avatar f tn I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I am a 28 yr old female who has been on propranol for almost 4 years. I have a at home blood pressure monitor, that also checks my pulse and I do it religiously. My pulse has always been 65 to 80.
Avatar n tn The decrease in HDL-cholesterol levels and increase in triglyceride levels reported in 1978 to be associated with use of propranolol, and with the concomitant use of hydrochlorothiazide and propranolol, was not found.
Avatar f tn That in itself could be a reason to use caution while taking propranolol during smoking cessation.
Avatar n tn i am having some shivering like condition in my limbs [ both hands and legs]. it is very mild and can be observed if i hold something in my hands or very careful monitoring my hands.i had it since my childhood as many of my classmates use to ask why ur hands shiver? i could never accept it as a child that i had some problem of this kind.i was very good and normal in my routine works.but this condition is increasing with age.now i feel very concious in the public gatherings.
Avatar n tn They told me she was having 3-4 PACs in a row constantly. Is this really dangerous? I read that children often have PACs and is not dangerous. Now that she is on the propranolol, her PACs have become less frequent and the cardiologist has mentioned up titrating the propranolol. Is it possible that the Concerta has caused this arrhythmia since nobody heard the arrhythmia before? How serious is this?
Avatar f tn I also was on propranolol for a while with no side effects. I don't agree with banglamom in saying the best cure is to stop taking your medicine. Some medicines can have side effects at first that wear off after you've been on them for a month or so.
Avatar f tn I wake up and go to sleep with a lump of anxiety in my chest. I also read that it is not good to use regularly for someone with asthma. Any suggestions or feedback on your experiences with this?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn A GP that specialises in headaches suggested Propranadol in 2013, I have tried other things he suggested first so I explained this to my new regular GP & he said I could give them a try.........no checks what so ever! Anyway I got a BP test done at the chemist & read all I could & have decided to start taking them, I am on 20mg twice a day intending to work up to 40 mg twice a day.

Avatar n tn I started taking such medication since then, and recently I have got to know that the main compound, propranolol, present in these medicine pills, is also used to treat PTSD which is a cure for the said, by erasing memory of the patient. i am just concerned for the fact that the prolonged use of propranolol might cause any sort of memory loss to me. Kindly advise me in this regard.
