I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I have symptoms, but the doctor has a presription for prometrium on hold for me awaiting these results. Any thoughts??
m taking 200mg/day of Prometrium). The nurse who called with the results said they were fine. I think the hcg seems kind of low. With my last pregnancy at 15 dpo my hcg was 269. Any opinions? I am worried. Thank you.
Question i am currently on prometrium 200 mg twice a day to keep me pregnant. On the 20th of this month it was 1,000+ and beta was a 21 point something and on Thursday of last week i took another and it was 3,000+ but my beta dropped down to a 16 point something. The hcg is good but what is the beta and why is it dropping and what could that mean.. Now i did miss about 2 or 3 does of the prometrium since the first test but the hcg is high and going up so why would the beta drop?
my 5th IUI (3rd on Clomid) ended with a BTN, but still no AF. wondering if the prometrium might delay my AF. I stopped it 2 days ago but still no sign of AF. I did blood test today but won't know the result till tomorrow, just to confirm the failure. I am really fed up with the trying and no knowing what could've gone wrong. said she would call me tomorrow tomorrow with todays bloodwork results. I am very worried as I just had a miscarriage in March 2009 with only one period in between then and it was June 9, 2009. Could low progesterone have been a factor in my first miscarriage? and what is the likely hood that I will be able to continue this pregnancy? Dr said could be a chemical pregnancy or we could have just miscalculated the ovulation dates.
5, and my hcg more than doubled. My OB prescribed Prometrium 200mg, saying he wanted the progesterone level >20. My concern is his refusal to check my progesterone level after taking the Prometrium. He says the results would not matter, as he would not prescribe any additional progesterone, saying the body "can only absorb so much."
I have a friend whose OB tested her progesterone, and prescribed 200mg Prometrium for a level of 8.
I am 21 weeks and have had to take Prometrium orally ever since week 8 of my pregnancy for low levels of progesterone, also after having 3 miscarraiges within the last year. The diagnosis was a Luteal Phase Defect.
I am currently still on the Prometrium although I only take 100 mgs everyother day as oppossed to the 200 mgs I was taking daily up until weeks 16.
I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
I having my period after 2 months of treatment of cabergoline very heavy bledding and large blood clod for five days .Its that normal? I have miss period on the past with negative results of blood pregnancy test..
I haven't had that happen actually. I think the only weird thing that happened was from when I inserted it too far, I got some spotting and a little pain. But I don't think it would qualify as cramping. I'm not positive, though, as it was a few months ago. But good that it's working for you. Something else that helped me is maca root. I had a few months w/just progesterone supplementation (prometrium) but it didn't really help much.
If you searched and read other threads as I suggested, you have seen that although results above 1.1 are officially considered positive. However, only results above 3.5 are definitely positive. Your results of 1.22 and 1.54 were very low and most likely truly negative; the value of 2.44 is of greater concern. Still, with these mixed results, and your negative sexual history, most likely you are not infected.
There are confirmatory tests that can sort this out.
Hey girls ~ was told yesterday that having Prometrium prescribed as a suppository was ludicrous ~ that Crinone Gel is mega better and sticks as opposed to the Prometrium which just drips out "because it was made to be taken orally ~ not vaginally ~ and anyone who suggests it is just playing with being a Fertilization Specialist"....
I have always wondered if the suppositories affect the eggs and she thinks that prometrium caps are better. Any thoughts about this ladies?
