Hi I was wondering if any one took prometrium during their first trimester of their pregnancy? If yes, what were the side affects? I have had one miscarriage at 4 months and I fear I am probably having another one with my second pregnancy I have been prescribed Prometrium and I am just wondering if it has done any good to any one etc.

Progesterone above 20 is great! Your levels will fluctuate throughout the day so it is possible that the "drop" was just that your progesterone was low at that particular time of the blood draw.
There's no harm in taking the supplements (I'd do oral supplements, aka Prometrium, as opposed to suppositories since your prog. is above 20) if it helps to ease your mind. You'll have to stop taking them by week 10-12.
m now CD25, 12/13DPIUI did HPT (NOT FMU ~second ~- in cup-5seconds) and came out BFN ~ but ~ prometrium was floating around in the cup ~ could it be mileading the HPT..??..
Hey ladies. I am almost 6 weeks. We've been on prometrium since the IUI, was once a day. My first progesterone at 12 DPO was 20. It dropped to 19 at 14 DPO and then at 19 DPO it was 11. (I forgot to take my pill the night before) They put me on 2 a day since then. I went to get it checked today and it was only 15. Is this low or normal? When will the dizziness stop?? Am I usually on them until 12 weeks?
I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I am supposed to stop my prometrium when I'm 10w which is this thursday, but I have read that some people have miscarried because ur body is not making enough progesterone of its own. I been trying to get preggo for almost 4 yrs and to miscarried now would be devestating. I have also heard that if ur preggo with twins which I am its good to keep taking the prometrium to minimize the chances of premature labor.
I got mine the next day, as soon as I stopped prometrium I started spotting and the next day I got my AF.
I have had 3 past m/c, but 3 healthy children since the last one. I found out Thurs. I was pregnant. I called my ob. He started me on Prometrium 200 mg vaginally per day. I started that Friday night. Sat. afternoon I had some brown spotting. Was checked at ER and everything ok. hcg was 17-they said was very early.They also checked my progesterone level. Sat. night late had heavier red bleeding like period. Went back to ER they said was m/c most likely.
The doctor prescribed prometrium for her. She is scared to death to take the medication because it has a strong warning on the label "DO NOT TAKE IF PREGNANT OR ANTICIPATE GETTING PREGNANT. Why would the doctor prescribe prometrium if the twin is OK at this time?
I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
my dr. was concerned to he prescribed me prometrium to take for 6 days, saying that it should cause me to get my period about 3 days after i stopped taking it. well, it's been 2 weeks now and i still haven't gotten my period. i've had extreme cramping and adominal pain everyday since i had stopped the prometrium. Im starting to get worried and im wondering if anyone has ever experienced this or has any suggestions of what the problem could be?
They called me very confused because my HCG was 46 and my Progesterone was 0. Two days later I retested at HCG 48 and Progesterone 12. That day they put me on prometrium. I retested 2 days later because of the very little rise in HCG and the test came back HCG 24 and Progesterone 25. At that time they told me my levels had dropped too low and to prepare for a miscarriage, and to call them in a week if I hadn't started my period.
I've been taking prometrium vaginally twice daily for 13 days now (started the day after my IUI) and on day 10, I started noticing a headache, a dull gnawing sensation on both sides of my head. It is day 14 of prometrium now (CD32) and I am still feeling this. If I bend over to pick up something it hurts even more.
Also, is anyone taking Prometrium orally? What dose are you taking and what time of day do you take it? Are you worried about any side effects it may have on the baby?
Ladies were any of you were/are on Prometrium. I was on it since week 6 till week 15. I am so concerned about it leaving any effects on fetus. Does anyone know anything about it?
My ob/gyn has put me on Prometrium to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. I still have not gotten my period, and I am 3 days late.
