This month I used an ovulator kit and BD on the right days and took prometrium as soon as I ovulated, so why am I not pregnant. I have all the symptoms; but this can also be prometrium side effects. I really do not believe that I am pregnant because I have not experienced any spotting. I am SO frustrated. Has anyone gone through the same experience?
While taking Prometrium for luteal phase defect, I got several faint positives on home pregnancy tests. But then I began bleeding (light but steady full flow). So I stopped taking the prometrium. I've been bleeding for a few days now--still more than spotting though less than before. But I decided to take another home pregnancy test anyways because something felt funny. Two different brands of test were positive, darker than before but still quite faint. What do I do now?
I'm so sorry about the BFN, Miranda - it's all so frustrating and confusing especially when you know the conditions are right for conception.
My doctor just prescribed some kind of progestin (I think it was Prometrium) to jump-start my period so I'm not sure too why it's used both ways. My husband's a pharmacist so when he's up and functional, I'll ask him and see what he says.
to get preg one must ovulate if you are not ovulating you can not get pregnant no matter what, also once you are pregnant if you do can not keep enough progesterone (i think could be estrogen its one of the two) in the system you will miscarry which is why many with PCOS need medical help keeping a child to term (not all but many).
I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
I've been ttc for just about a year now...my doctor put me on 200 Prometrium to start my period then Clomid 50 last month, no positive preg test so this month he did they same but uped my Clomid to 100. I did my OPK on days 10-today, which is day 15 with no LH surge. Can I still become pregnant without an LH surge? I thought for sure i ovulated, I got the little crap in my lower stomache and also had the extra mucus. is it possible or not?
I found out that I am low also before I got pregnant I started the prometrium. The placenta does not start working on its own till 12-13 weeks. During that time your progesterone helps ot finction and grow. Once it is working on its own they say there is no need for the pills. However they will put me on shots becasue of preterm labor starting at 14 weeks and I will go off the pills at 12 weeks. I will have two weeks with nothing! Scarey to me. Do you have a history of preterm labor?
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and my doctor prescribed prometrium 200mg and and I have been cutting open the pill and taking the medicine that way because I can not swallow pills, so I want to know if the medication is still working in my body?

I have hormone testing annually to make sure my balances are right. I feel good on this regimen. About testosterone, I was tested, and found out I had bound testosterone (testosterone that is chemically bonded to a protein called Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin) showing in my tests but I needed more free testosterone so my body could use it.
Thanks everyone! I had an IUI this time last year on clomid and I was a wreck during the TWW. I didn't really have any symptoms. My mom got me alot of lavender stuff to help with the anxiety. I was working then so it was easy to be distracted. I'm not working now so it should make for a very hectic TWW!

told me to wait until day35, confirm pregnancy and to take prometrium. But the last two miscarriages was within 5 weeks. I could not call it as chemical pregnancy, because we saw the sac in u/s. Please give suggestions, from when to take prometrium( after confirming pregnancy or from day14 ).
I haven't take prometrium pass than 15days ofter DPO. I do not know what to give you advise, but the best is call your doctor and ask for their opinion. I think if prometrium helps, then dr will keep you on the med.

Sunday afternoon had cramping and bleeding. Did not take Prometrium the night before due to being told I was having m/c. I called my OB Sunday. He said to keep taking the Prometrium and have my hcg rechecked Monday. I did. Monday my hcg was 44. My bleeding was only light spotting by then. My Doctor said I was still pregnant-could be tubal, molar, or normal. He did not know. He said Progesterone levels taken previous Saturday would tell if it was tubal or molar.
Everything is going great. I am on baby aspirin a day and 200mg 2x prometrium. its working for me! progesterone does an amazing job at holding pregnancies, and the baby asprin is to thin you blood so more goes to the uterus. This can also help if you have a blood clotting issue. i have never been tested for anything but i wanted to try 1 more time first with these medicines and i believe its really helping me.
One of the twins was not viable after six weeks. The other twin is still going strong at 8 weeks. The doctor prescribed prometrium for her. She is scared to death to take the medication because it has a strong warning on the label "DO NOT TAKE IF PREGNANT OR ANTICIPATE GETTING PREGNANT. Why would the doctor prescribe prometrium if the twin is OK at this time?
If I do however miscarry this time around, I will be on prometrium until I no longer do not want any children.
