told me to wait until day35, confirm pregnancy and to take prometrium. But the last two miscarriages was within 5 weeks. I could not call it as chemical pregnancy, because we saw the sac in u/s. Please give suggestions, from when to take prometrium( after confirming pregnancy or from day14 ).
I had 2 miscarriages in the past and with this one i went on prometrium and baby aspirin although nothing was ever diagnosed either. i did not experience any bleeding as a side effect of the prometrium though. have you had a scan yet?
My period is regular at every 33-35 days with ovulation happening at 15 to 17 days. I took prometrium (200 mg 2x daily) for the second pregnancy starting at 6 weeks and still miscarried.For this pregnancy the progesterone level is lower than the last at 5.4 with an HCG level of 27. I have another HCG test sched for tomorrow. I have a feeling this one will end the same as the others. This will make 3 miscarriages in a year!
Since there is no evidence that luteal phase defect causes miscarriages, I do not often add prometrium. When I do, I recommend that you test your urine daily with urine ovulation prediction starting on day 10 or 11, have intercourse the day the urine turns positive and the day after, and then start prometrium 3 days after the urine turns positive; this way you know that you are starting the prometrium at the correct time.
had any of u taken prometrium after a HPT for 12 weeks of ur pregnancy. i'm hopeful this time, just ovulated.... i had 2 miscarriages, so waiting for this time to be a +ve one.

Well many doctors have prescribed it to pregnant women and it has helped some with their current pregnancies since they have had miscarriages in the past! I was doing some online research and yes it is not meant for pregnant women yet it is depending on individual cases...if that makes any sense!
I was pregnant...this was my 2nd pregnancy at roughly 2-3 weeks!...I had a miscarriage in Dec 09 at 4 months with no valid reason...they were guessing my cervix was incompetent!
We have been having my hcg levels and progesterone levels monitored due to my history with miscarriages. HCG levels were going through the roof for a while with a doubling time of 48 hours. This last hcg test was much lower than I had anticipated due to the others. It had a doubling time of almost 100 hours. Also my progesterone has been slowly declining even though they have me on prometrium 100mg twice vaginally a day.
I too my self suffered 2 miscarriages, I was tested for everything under the sun and the only thing that was low was my progestrone level. When I became pregnant the 3rd time my dr. prescribed prometrium and I am happy to say I gave birth to a 10lb perfect baby girl. I am know pregnant again and began taking the prometrium as soon as I got a positive test. I am only 5 weeks but so far so good.
The doctor prescribed prometrium for her. She is scared to death to take the medication because it has a strong warning on the label "DO NOT TAKE IF PREGNANT OR ANTICIPATE GETTING PREGNANT. Why would the doctor prescribe prometrium if the twin is OK at this time?
daily low dose asprin, 100X3 per day prometrium (progesterone supplement), fish oil and prenatal vitamins. I take all except the prometrium even while not pregnant (we plan to try again as soon as possible).
I know it's hard, but stay strong and keep believing. I got to the point I never thought it would happen for me, yet here he is. It's scary but just take it one day at a time!
I never had my progesterone tested when I was pregnant before I started taking supplements - prometrium 200mg/oral a day. It was prescribed for me after two miscarriages as a 'just in case' kind of thing (testing showed I have a blood clotting issue for which I take baby aspirin). I took the prometrium for the first trimester - and am now 30 weeks pregnant with a future soccer player! Good luck!
Everything is going great. I am on baby aspirin a day and 200mg 2x prometrium. its working for me! progesterone does an amazing job at holding pregnancies, and the baby asprin is to thin you blood so more goes to the uterus. This can also help if you have a blood clotting issue. i have never been tested for anything but i wanted to try 1 more time first with these medicines and i believe its really helping me.
My 2nd pregnancy he had me start prometrium at my first appointment with him (about 5 weeks along). After that loss, he gave me a prescription for prometrium so that I start it as soon as I get a positive on my home test. He said it can't hurt anything to be on it. I also found out here that many many of us "older" expectant moms are on it.

I had 3 consecutive miscarriages in the last year and a half.The pattern was the same in all three case, lower progesterone levels. After the first miscarriage , I was asked to take baby aspirin and prometrium with the subsequent pregnancy. I anyway miscarried. I was referred to a reproductive endocrinologist. He checked for genetic disorders in both me and my husband. He did the clomid challenge test , checked for abnormalities in the uterine wall , checked thyroid level , blood sugar.
I have had 3 past m/c, but 3 healthy children since the last one. I found out Thurs. I was pregnant. I called my ob. He started me on Prometrium 200 mg vaginally per day. I started that Friday night. Sat. afternoon I had some brown spotting. Was checked at ER and everything ok. hcg was 17-they said was very early.They also checked my progesterone level. Sat. night late had heavier red bleeding like period. Went back to ER they said was m/c most likely.
my fertility doctor has told me to take these and to also take a preggo test next week if it says not preggo for me to continue taking the Prometrium untel I start my cycle. With all 3 m/c i never carried past 6 weeks....I can tell you that here in North Carolina that the Prometrium 200 mg's 16 pills cost $ 75.00....Also to Lilyb is this doctor you are talking to is it a obgyn ??? I didnt ask my doctor to put me on this !! I told him to and he did....good luck to all of you .....
ive had 6 miscarriages no doctors will tell me what's wrong with me matter of fact they say nothing's wrong.. I was put on prometrium for one and it didn't help. I don't know what else to do. Incompetent cervix??? I can't think of anything. I make it to 10 weeks and everything ends.
