I would prefer to take only the estrogen, but my doctor is concerned that it could stimulate the regrowth of endometriosis. Thank you for your feedback.
I have endometriosis and fibroyoid cyst, I've had surgury twice only due to being in pain. The first time they found severe endo with adhesions attached to my uterus and intestines, the second was only mild since it had only been 5 years since my last surgery for the endo. The surgery will give your dr the answers to help find out more concerning your uterus and remove any adhesions and cyst if they look like they can be causing some problems with you conceiving.
My doctor doesn't want anything in my vagina next time I get pregnant. I've had three losses already. Anyway I will be on prometrium from ovulation time until pregnancy is confirmed. Once pregnancy is confirmed they will switch me to a weekly injectible progesterone supplements. We see an RE because I have endometriosis ans it's hard for me to get pregnant.
Has anyone had a successful pregnancy having severe endo and homozygous for MTHFR C677T? I had a miscarriage (first pregnancy) at week 10 last month. I was on baby asprin and Folgard 2.2 pre-pregnancy. I started on Lovenox at week 4 of prenancy and Prometrium weeks 6-10. I've had 2 Laperoscopies for the endo. Been seeing a fertility doc for 2 years - trying to get pregers for 5 years. I'm worried I will have more M/C. Just need to know pregers is possible.
Hello, my name is lacie i was diagnosed with endo when i was 14 ive had one surgery and i was on depo for two years. Thats a little background history on my endo. me and my husband have been TTC since april. I was put on the lupron shot in jan. I was suppose to get another shot in march but i couldnt stand the hot flashes and plus me and my husband decided we wanted a child well i decided to wait until april to start tryin think my period would come.
I was diagnosed with endometriosis after trying to conceive my second child. I conceived my first child after trying for about 3 months without help for drs. I had severe endo and had it laproscopically removed, went on prometrium to raise my progesterone level and started clomid. I conceived 3 months later and I now have a very healthy 5 year old and 2 year old. It can happen.
My Dr has prescribed Prometrium 200mgs to be taken for the 1st 5 days of my next period. Everything I have read about this is that it is usually prescribed for 10 days before your period, so I am confused. Also, he mentioned that Prometrium will help protect me from endometrial cancer and possibly breast cancer. I read that it may increase the risk of breast cancer so I am totally confused.
Can someone help and offer advice? I am going for a 2nd opinion in December with another Ob/Gyn.
So, I had my last ultrasound in May...do you think I should go back and get another one soon? How do they test for endometriosis? Have you also taken Metformin? My dr. gave me prometrium to induce my periods..
Thank you so much! I miscarried around 5-6 weeks both times and progesterone was low. I am currently around 5 weeks and have been taking prometrium supplements since I got a positive test. So I'm hoping this time is different. Thanks again for your help!
I was dx with endometriosis after trying for my second child. I had sx all of my life but never put 2 and 2 together until I couldn't conceive. I was told that it was not very likely but I refused to believe that. If God wanted me to have another baby, that is all there was to it and if he didn't I would have to accept that he had other plans for me. I had laproscopic surgery to remove the webbing, was on prometrium to increase my progesterone and clomid to help with ovulation.
Everything is going great. I am on baby aspirin a day and 200mg 2x prometrium. its working for me! progesterone does an amazing job at holding pregnancies, and the baby asprin is to thin you blood so more goes to the uterus. This can also help if you have a blood clotting issue. i have never been tested for anything but i wanted to try 1 more time first with these medicines and i believe its really helping me.
I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
I have been on prometrium for 6 months and have found it has helped me sleep as well as with the hot flashes, I take 200mg before I go to bed. The doctor suggested I try cutting it back to 100mg but the insomnia came back so I am back on the higher dose. I now just get the odd night sweat and hardly any hot flashes during the day. It took about three weeks for it to work for me so it's probably worth sticking with.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive since September, 2008 with no baby yet. The doctors know that I have endometriosis and have tested me for P.C.O.S. but all the test results have come back that I DON'T have PCOS which is definately a blessing. However, I had a laparoscopic surgery in December of 2008 to take out any endometrial cells and ever since then, my periods have been completely irregular to non-existant.
Just seems to have went from dealing with endometriosis and PCS to all these hormone issues. Should I go back on the Prometrium and testosterone cream? At the time of my last lab work, my estrogen level dropped from 70 to 30. I'm just confused.
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I do not know what to give you advise, but the best is call your doctor and ask for their opinion. I think if prometrium helps, then dr will keep you on the med.

I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
