Prometrium for adenomyosis

Common Questions and Answers about Prometrium for adenomyosis

prometrium

654396 tn?1237508912 I had a lap for endometriosis about a year ago. The DR said that she suspects adenomyosis too, but there was nothing she could do for it. Anyway, my husband and I had a miscarriage in March at 10 weeks and have been ttc since. I just discovered, after several months of negative ovulation tests, that (thru blood work) my progesterone is at 1.0 (21 days in to cycle). She said that is low, but I have no idea what's normal. I have a DR appointment on the 23rd to get more info.
Avatar f tn Welcome aboard, I was diagnosed with possible Adenomyosis myself over a year ago. My symptoms never went along with the expected symptoms for Adenomyosis. I didn't have pain during periods or prolonged bleeding. In fact, when I was diagnosed, my AF had been shorter and lighter than normal. I also have a tilted uterus so that doesn't make anything easier. But I wouldn't get a hysterectomy and I'd seek advice from an RE as the poster above said.

I saw some natural cure for adenomyosis were introducted in some places, and i also wanna to know more details about herbal medicine, pls share with me ,thanks !
Avatar f tn Last monday I have ET done,My fertility docotr put me on prednisone ,baby aspirin ,prometrium and supposotries and Iam waiting for 7 days.I am right now so scared that it will happen to me again.Has anyone had this experienced. Please help.
Avatar f tn As for your uterus being soft, it could be indicative of a condition called adenomyosis which would account for your cramping, although generally there is more discomfort to the point of extreme pain, not unlike the cramps of childbirth or Braxton Hicks contractions. Some women have what's called (and it's a horrible term), a "boggy" uterus; a term indicating a sense that the uterus is softer and spongier than average.
Avatar f tn For all of the research I have done I was told its impossible to know if you have adenomyosis unless you remove the uterus for biopsy's and examination. Did the ultrasound say possible adenomyosis? There is nothing really you can take to come to term with it unless you are taking the pill continuously. Do you have endo as well?
Avatar n tn My Dr has prescribed Prometrium 200mgs to be taken for the 1st 5 days of my next period. Everything I have read about this is that it is usually prescribed for 10 days before your period, so I am confused. Also, he mentioned that Prometrium will help protect me from endometrial cancer and possibly breast cancer. I read that it may increase the risk of breast cancer so I am totally confused. Can someone help and offer advice? I am going for a 2nd opinion in December with another Ob/Gyn.
1404364 tn?1289431561 My cycle is nowhere to be seen (not totally uncommon for me) and my last period was in mid-December. My OB was fine with giving me an Rx for BC pills to induce a bleed, but when I called the RE's office, she said that I shouldn't start them and that we will talk about an alternate route at the appt. Now I'm just curious what types of drugs they would put me on? Are there stronger injectibles to induce a period?
Avatar f tn My insurance refused to pay for a hysterectomy for adenomyosis untill everything else had been ruled out. The problem with Adenomyosis is that it can't be 100% proven untill the uterus is removed and tested. So basically I had to jump through alot of hoops before insurance would pay. Have you had other things ruled out? I ask because after all my years of pain and bleeding, once I had my hysterectomy and the testing was done, I found out I did not have Adenomyosis after all.
Avatar f tn HERE IT IS - Information about diagnosing ADENOMYOSIS for anyone looking for an answer who has symptoms similar to my own (see above posts re ADENOMYOSIS). Avatar f tn s very easy for friends who say it worked for them it will work for you, and for the hospitals to take your money and keep you going and hoping but i would say to anyone thinking of ivf...think carefully it's a very very tricky road and it's very easy to get caught up with the hope...I have been to hell and back-felt suicidal for years watching all my friends having children....it's a rocky journey...I am happy now...still yearn for baby but there is life after infertility...
1926359 tn?1331588139 But also- at surgery time I will have been on pain meds daily for 7 months. My dose is fairly high for the past 6 weeks to deal with the excruciating pain. How can I begin to try to conceive while still on pain meds? I will be tapering of course as fast as I can but I can't do another cold turkey. The last time I got impatient tapering I went cold turkey and didn't menstruate for 14 months. I feel like everything is just a mess and I feel overwhelmed and lost.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the info!
Avatar f tn Hello. I have been bleeding for 2 weeks and my dr thinks it may be adenomyosis. She wants to put me on progesterone to see if it stops. Has anybody ever dealt with this before? I do have cysts on both ovaries, but I have never bled for this long. It's getting a little rediculous! I was dx w/endo in 06. Thanks for any help you have to offer!
Avatar f tn Hi all, In november 2009 i had an endometrial ablation rather than a hysterectomy due to continuos bleeding. The ablation was a success as it stopped my bleeding completely. However, i started getting severe contraction like pain in my pelvis every 4 - 6 wks and would have to attend hospital to be treated for the pain. I found only morphine helped!!
Avatar f tn Thank you for your post. I also have severe adenomyosis , endometriosis and lots of fibroids. I have had numerous surgeries and nothing really has helped with trying to conceive. Thanks to your post, I decided to contact Midsummer clinic and going to see Michael next week. I would love to talk to you more about this, so if you could write back, then that would be amazing.. I will wait to hear from you before going any further. I hope you are still checking back to this forum.
Avatar f tn Had a question for you, I know these postings are old but hoping someone can help me. Iv had two miscarriages, on this second one they noticed I had two cysts in my uterine wall, suggesting adenomyosis. Iv always had normal periods with minor pains. After my miscarriage the ultrasound no longer showed the cysts. I'm 25, do u think it's possible I have adenomyosis? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Help anyone know about Adenomyosis?? I am 38 and want badly to have a child suffer from endo have had several surgeries. The Endo was never in the tubes or the uterus. Went off pill which was helping to treat the endo try to get pregnant. Missed a period for 2 months then got one very heavy and this month been bleeding most of the month started as spotting thought perhaps implantantion bleeding but was not.
Avatar f tn About a week after my miscarriage my OB/GYN sent me for a transvaginal ultrasound. I was given the report from the ultrasound tech but am having difficulty understanding it...
329994 tn?1301663248 Just wondering if anyone on here has had adenomyosis, what did you do about it and were you having heavy bleeding with it? Thank you!
Avatar n tn I'm 22 years old. I've been dealing with chronic pain in my lower abdomen since I was 14. I've been seen by a doctor for many years. He has done surgeries, put me on pain medication and other types of medications. Nothing has helped. I'm at my whits end.I need to find some answer soon. I'm sick of being in pain. the only time it has gone away for any length of time is when i was pregnant.
Avatar n tn Anyway, they rescheduled me for tomorrow afternoon since I am not pregnant. In the event they do find it is adenomyosis, my doctor said she will put me on Lupron for 3 months to "shrink" it. I'm sorry, but there has to be other options out there othan than putting your body in a menopausal state. That's scary! I just want to get this MRI done and have my file transferred to another doctor. That office seems very incompetent!
Avatar f tn They tell me they will be looking for thickening of the uterus wall. Are they looking for endometrial cancer? I like to be educated on my body, but I just feel a little in the closet on this one. Please help...
Avatar n tn Only now is my doctor suggesting that I might have adenomyosis. I have been reading about it and want to know if being on Lupron might help. I only have 3 embryos left and would like to give us the best chance at having another baby. Please let me know what you would suggest. Thank you so much for your help.
688845 tn?1325182236 m curious because I to was put on 200mg vaginaly of prometrium. My hcg was at 23 and I feel thats low. I go back on Monday for a re-draw and count again.
Avatar f tn I don't know what to expect and I am so anxious to see my doc. My main concern is that this pain doesn't mean anything bad for my baby. I am sorry for your loss and pray that you can soon have a beautiful bundle of joy. If you don't mind me asking how far a long were you when you lost your angel? I've read so many bad posts that it has me on edge.
