5, and my hcg more than doubled. My OB prescribed Prometrium 200mg, saying he wanted the progesterone level >20. My concern is his refusal to check my progesterone level after taking the Prometrium. He says the results would not matter, as he would not prescribe any additional progesterone, saying the body "can only absorb so much."
I have a friend whose OB tested her progesterone, and prescribed 200mg Prometrium for a level of 8.
So he put me on Prometrium 200mg for 12 days. I started it on 5/2 and last night I began spotting. Then today heavy flow (mostly dark brown and kinda gooey) and cramps. I have 3 days left of the Prometrium (after today) and he had said I wouldn't start until 3-7 days after. The whole idea of me taking this is to regulate my cycle (it was either this or birth control for 2 months, but he said since I an TTC to try this first).
t know should I find another doctor....Would it be OK to come off Prometrium all of a sudden and I should reduce my dosage to once a day...Please help..so confused...
Is the dr going to test you every other day to see if the progesterone levels increase so they will know if they should increase the dosage or if it is fine at the dosage they have you on? I take prometrium when I get pregnant and have found that it has a great effect on helping the progesterone levels.
As a preventative measure, my RE prescribed prometrium for me. I was a little squeamish about taking the suppositories so I received the tablet form. I need to take 2 tablets 3x a day.
I'm looking at the bottle right now and I'm a feeling anxious about it. I'm worried about the possible side affects. I'm scared about fooling around with my hormone levels. Please, please tell me I'm being silly.
would that be a cause for concern? My doc said it wasnt a cause for worry. I dont agree. I was on 200 mg of Prometrium for this deficiency anyways so I dont think it should have dropped.
When I found out my HCG level on the 3rd, I was told to up the dosage of prometrium from 100mg to 200mg. When my HCG level dropped, I was told to stop the prometrium due to the impending miscarriage. I go for an ultrasound on the 8th, but, at this point, I am in the process of having a miscarriage. I passed some tissue earlier this afternoon and have had the spotting turn to bleeding, which has been pretty consistent. I am pretty much just numb at this point....

05MG one in the AM as a back up ( in case I cant get my Armour RX filled ) Is it OK to switch from Armour to the cytomel/levothyroxine and is the dosage equivalent ? I notice when I take my Armour, I feel very hot/warm and somewhat irritable afterwards for a few hours. Is that a normal side effect?
I have an enlarged pituitary and enlarged pituitary stalk , which is monitored by MRI yearly.
But yeah, 24000 hcg is high. I am on Prometrium 200 twice a day and also taking Folgard (high dosage of Folic acid).
Do you have any symptoms? I don't have any, except for some cramps.
I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
ve tried everything I can think of to get some help. I read an article which said 300 mg Prometrium every night would help and would be safe. I've been on that regime but feel kinda dizzy all the time - and I'm worried about blot clots etc. My doctor put me on Ogen (estrogen) just last week as I still don't sleep and my hotflashes are making me miserable. Question is - is 300 mg every night plus estrogen 25 days/month considered effective and safe?
Maybe I will ask him to add prometrium in addition to crinone. Originally he had prescribed only prometrium but it was a vaginal suppository. I did not know you can get those in pills, maybe I should ask for that

I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I am supposed to stop my prometrium when I'm 10w which is this thursday, but I have read that some people have miscarried because ur body is not making enough progesterone of its own. I been trying to get preggo for almost 4 yrs and to miscarried now would be devestating. I have also heard that if ur preggo with twins which I am its good to keep taking the prometrium to minimize the chances of premature labor.
Go back to your regular doctor. This one doesn't have a clue about thyroid. You were stable, you were feeling well. Now, this new doctor is messing with your dose because she's just looking at TSH and has no clue how to use it in someone taking Cytomel. Don't put up with this for 30 days. You will feel less and less well if you do. Call your regular doctor and explain how bad you feel since your dose was reduced.
I went through the saliva hormonal testing and found out that I am in menopause ....... being estrogen dominant. I am taking prometrium, 200 mg at night. My night sweats are gone - but I still don't feel energized.
My T3, Reverse levels are at 36 -- a little high with normal being 11-32 ng/dL. No meds were given to me on this.
Do I need to be on meds to keep this stablized? And I need someone to explain the Reverse T3 to me.
