384150 tn?1399904816 Has anyone with a short luteral phase used the natural progesterone cream and found it helpful??
Avatar f tn I am not 100% positive but im pretty sure that you can only get this with a doctors prescription. I used prometrium pills that were prescribed to me and had no side effects. I hear the creams are super messy. Good luck!
Avatar n tn t prescribe anything until more bloodwork the next time I was pregnant I took matters into my own hands a little and decided to use progesterone cream as I had read a lot about it and saw the positive effects... Most likely the reason I've held onto this one so far I'm only 4 weeks 2 days and progesterone level was 16.11 they want above 20 and hcg was 295... Now they called and prescribed promethium 4x a day and I pray to god that this helps!!
233053 tn?1321643821 has any of you ladies used rometrium after having difficulty getting pergnant, and saw positive result? my doctor just prescribed me with prometrium, becaus ei have been trying since march 08, but have not gotten pregnant. Emotionally, i need to believe that this may actually work. I want to know if any one has a success story with Prometrium.
1319297 tn?1274794630 s and am hypothyroid) And it was able to help my body get my progesterone level back to normal. I had tried progesterone cream, then Prometrium, and then progesterone suppositories, but nothing worked. I kept getting progesterone levels around 4 or 5 at 7DPO. But the month I added maca (& took Prometrium, too), at 7DPO it was 17.5! I highly recommend it! It's an adaptogen so it gives you the right amount of whatever you need to balance hormones and help the thyroid to function optimally.
935576 tn?1246071706 I am currently 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I started taking progesterone cream shortly after ovulation to maintain my pregnancy as I suffered from a miscarriage last October. Has anyone had positive results using natural progesterone cream while pregnant?
Avatar n tn I spoke to my doctor and she switched me from the 100 mg. oral Prometrium to a 50 mg. compounded progesterone cream and I can play with the dose to work for me. I started on a very small amount and I felt much better than with the oral Prometrium. This is tricky business, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
8987249 tn?1404774097 Hi ladies - I'm about to stop using the Crinone 8% progesterone cream (when I hit 12 weeks this weekend), and I'm curious if anyone had bad results from stopping (or if things were fine). I'm nervous to stop using it!
Avatar f tn I have pills called Prometrium. I have heard that the cream is actually better/more effective. After doing more reading up on progesterone I have found this information: progesterone is necessary to keep the uterine lining thick. If your uterine lining thins out (progesterone goes down) then you will eventually miscarry. So it's good that we're on it!
Avatar f tn I always get itchy and yeasty towards the end of a fertility treatment cycle because I use the progesterone vaginal suppositories (prometrium). When it's gotten really bad, I asked my OBGYN and they said it was OK to use the external cream that usually comes with the monistat suppositories. I do NOT use the monistat suppository, just the cream that comes with it and only externally. It seems to help.
282955 tn?1394730951 Your progesterone numbers look great! so I doubt that you would need it.. most of the time low progesterone or luteal phase defect would show up on cd21 bloodwork, and have a short luteal phase.. i had spotting starting around 10dpo when my progesterone was low... you can buy progesterone cream otc, but not prometrium that i'm aware of! those are great numbers though! good luck!
Avatar m tn Maybe that is what I am going thru with the prometrium, I think I am going to try the progesterone cream by KAL next month. I don't see how you tolerate the biopsy every six months. Have you or do you know of anyone who has tried a progerterone cream?
Avatar f tn The placenta takes over around 12-13 weeks and they shoudl not take you off it till at least 14 weeks but if you end up being like me I had contractions at 12 weeks casue that is when you start needing moreprogesterone and my body was not making it so they ahve me on 500mg cream plus the Prometrium. I use the cream every 4-6 hours and it has worked wonders.
Avatar n tn I never had my progesterone tested when I was pregnant before I started taking supplements - prometrium 200mg/oral a day. It was prescribed for me after two miscarriages as a 'just in case' kind of thing (testing showed I have a blood clotting issue for which I take baby aspirin). I took the prometrium for the first trimester - and am now 30 weeks pregnant with a future soccer player! Good luck!
652899 tn?1284047173 I will preface by saying I have only used Crinone which is a vaginal cream but here is what I've read about progesterone: -The suppositories and the creams are thought to be more effective than injections because it puts the progesterone closer to where it's needed. -The suppositories can leak and cause discharge. -Crinone can build up and cause discharge (definitely true!) For me the Crinone is a $30 copay (my copays are $10, $30, and $50).
1610106 tn?1298173845 I wonder if your levels start to decrease before taking the prometrium can a pregnancy still continue? meaning could the prometrium bring the levels up after they go down, or does it always result in MC?
922048 tn?1387942584 I tried for a few months to get my progesterone level up, first w/the natural progesterone cream, then with Prometrium, then w/the suppositories. It seemed like nothing was working which didn't make any sense. Then in March I added a supplement called maca root. In case you haven't heard of it, it's an adaptogen that helps your body make the right amount of everything it needs.
887196 tn?1267555107 t thrilled to learn I had started using a cream, and she prescribed oral Prometrium after my first appt, which I took through week 13 of pregnancy. Just for the record, I'm not advocating doing anything without a Dr's supervision; I'm just telling you what I did. ;-) If you went the official route through your OB/GYN, if you explain your concern and give them reason to believe you may have LPD, I think they would test your progesterone levels at Day 21 of your cycle.
1176767 tn?1266188094 I have been taking a vaginal dose of prometrium at night before bed now for about a week . My husband was not too shy to mention to me that on a romantic evening together while having an oral sex moment that I happened to taste different. Has anyone ever been told that this medication could make them taste like a copper penny? That would be the only thing that has changed in my daily routine, I just wanna make sure that there is nothing more serious going on with me.
Avatar n tn I have been on prometrium for 6 months and have found it has helped me sleep as well as with the hot flashes, I take 200mg before I go to bed. The doctor suggested I try cutting it back to 100mg but the insomnia came back so I am back on the higher dose. I now just get the odd night sweat and hardly any hot flashes during the day. It took about three weeks for it to work for me so it's probably worth sticking with.
Avatar n tn so a day and a half after the shot. Are you taking Crinone cream as your progesterone supp? I have taken that many times. It is gross cause it is messy and it gives some pregnancy symptoms so it can be deceiving. I can't think of anything that you can not do while on it, but I'll let you know if I think of anything. Good luck! Are you having an IUI done?
907699 tn?1251630847 I am on 50mg of progesterone suppositories that have to be made at a compounding pharmacy. I get mine shipped and they are working cuz my temps have gone up. The suppositories go straight to the area needed from what I hear.
Avatar m tn I have tinkered with Prometrium and testosterone cream. I have read mixed results about progesterone after hysterectomy. The testosterone cream, I thought, was causing acne. I NEVER have acne, so I stopped taking that. I noticed other issues going on and my regular doctor said it was due to the V-dot patch. My gyno did blood work and it came back low thyroid. I am scheduled to see the Endocrinologist on Monday. I have, since, been taking Synthroid for the thyroid issues.
Avatar f tn I stopped the Prometrium for 10 days and MY BLEEDING STOPPED ENTIRELY so it has to be the Prometrium. I know I need progesterone as still have my uterus but am I the only one that is seeing this happen? I was told by Sott Pelle providers that a women minimally needs progesterone 14 days every third month. Can someone tell me their experience with this?
Avatar n tn The 2mg dose of estrace seemed to help with the mood swings but the sweating and frontal hair loss has been devastating to me to say the least. The Dr. now has me on 100mg of prometrium together with 1 mg of Estrace, but stated to me that I shouldn't really need the prometrium beings I don't have a Uterus anymore.Am I going to keep loosing my hair like this?I'm sick about it b/c my hair is already so fine and thin. What can I do?
588676 tn?1317820597 Has anyone ever used Crinone 8% vaginal gel suppository? I have used Prometrium (orally) in the past; however, my new OB would like me to try Crinone 8% being that it is absorbed directly where it is needed. I am curious to know if any of you have had experience with it. Are there any side effects? Do you experience a discharge with it? Is it messy?
