If you were my patient, the first thing I would do is to (after checking the pregnancy test which I ALWAYS do ) treat you with 5 days of Prometrium. This medication should start your period and "clean out" your uterus. Then, I would start you on Metformin and Femara. For some reason that we don't entirely understand, Metformin reduces the insulin insensitivity that is a part of the PCOS. The Femara would help you to ovulate regularly and speed up the time to conception.
m reading conflicting things on the web - ie - that taking aspirin during conception can actually contribute to a miscarriage (but maybe this is adult dose)?

I had laproscopic surgery to get rid of it and was then on prometrium to raise my progesterone level and clomid to aid in ovulation and conception. Clomid is pms x1000. It makes you feel very crabby, headaches and your breast hurt. My husband said, how are we going to have sex when you are acting like a *****!
It took 3 months to conceive once I had surg. and was on meds.
I have been using ovulation predictor kits since I do not ovulate regularly. My gynoncologist has also put me on Prometrium to enduce my periods. I return to my gynecologist in November for my normal well-woman checkup, and she told me if I am not pregnant by then, we would take the next step of being referred to a fertility specialist. Any ideas of what could possibly be interfering with my ability to get pregnant?
For the past 2 cycles of TTC, I have started spotting about 5-8 DPO. When it happened last month, I was sure it must be implantation bleeding, but after spotting for a few days, full blown AF showed up. Now this cycle, on 8 DPO the spotting has begun again. It's not enough to even get on my undies, just when I wipe. But when hubby and I BD'd last night, it did get on him a little too.
So, there could be a 10 day gap between the time a conception occurs and the time we can detect it. That is probably why your doctor wants you to wait. If you don't want to be pregnant, be sure and use something during this wait time! If you were my patient and had both a neg test and no MP on the next set of tests--I would prescribe progesterone to start your period--I like to use Prometrium because it won't harm a baby in case of an "oops".

I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes.
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I am supposed to stop my prometrium when I'm 10w which is this thursday, but I have read that some people have miscarried because ur body is not making enough progesterone of its own. I been trying to get preggo for almost 4 yrs and to miscarried now would be devestating. I have also heard that if ur preggo with twins which I am its good to keep taking the prometrium to minimize the chances of premature labor.
I got mine the next day, as soon as I stopped prometrium I started spotting and the next day I got my AF.
I have had 3 past m/c, but 3 healthy children since the last one. I found out Thurs. I was pregnant. I called my ob. He started me on Prometrium 200 mg vaginally per day. I started that Friday night. Sat. afternoon I had some brown spotting. Was checked at ER and everything ok. hcg was 17-they said was very early.They also checked my progesterone level. Sat. night late had heavier red bleeding like period. Went back to ER they said was m/c most likely.
The doctor prescribed prometrium for her. She is scared to death to take the medication because it has a strong warning on the label "DO NOT TAKE IF PREGNANT OR ANTICIPATE GETTING PREGNANT. Why would the doctor prescribe prometrium if the twin is OK at this time?
I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
I've been taking prometrium vaginally twice daily for 13 days now (started the day after my IUI) and on day 10, I started noticing a headache, a dull gnawing sensation on both sides of my head. It is day 14 of prometrium now (CD32) and I am still feeling this. If I bend over to pick up something it hurts even more.
Also, is anyone taking Prometrium orally? What dose are you taking and what time of day do you take it? Are you worried about any side effects it may have on the baby?
Ladies were any of you were/are on Prometrium. I was on it since week 6 till week 15. I am so concerned about it leaving any effects on fetus. Does anyone know anything about it?
My ob/gyn has put me on Prometrium to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. I still have not gotten my period, and I am 3 days late.
My dr. just put me on Prometrium 200mg at bedtime with hope to get my period. Has anyone taken this for similar reason and what was your outcome? We are trying to get pregnant.
