I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.
I have had a migraine every day starting at around noon and lasting until I go to bed. I took prometrium prior to pregnancy for period induction which i took for 10 days and i would get a "withdrawl" migraine for a day or two. Have any of you ladies experienced this? I'm really getting sick of taking tylenol every 4 hours but my head throbs so bad i can't see straight if i don't. I called my doc today and of course he's out of the office.
Was just writing on my journal and realized that even wehn I was pregnant last month and was taking prometrium 200 mg. 2X a day, I was never ever this nauseaus. So I think I'm just getting really sick.

It is taken the day after Ovulation and till the period occurs. Now as it raises the progesterone it can delay your period if you are not pregnant as during the luteal phase (after ovulation) your progesterone will decrease and estrogen levels will rise talling your body to shed the uterine lining causeing yoru period to occur. When you take suppliments the progesterone stays up and may not fall till stopped.
My OB/GYN gave me Progesterone (prometrium 100mg per day) to take after ovulation. I have been doing this for several months now. I recently started seeing a RE and when I told him I start the prog either 1dpo or 2 dpo, he freaked out telling me that I should not start them until 4dpo because talking starting it any earlier than 4dpo would cause me not to ovulate properly. I always start prog after I get a +opk one day and a temp increase the next day (which I count as o day).
ve been taking prometrium vaginally twice daily for 13 days now (started the day after my IUI) and on day 10, I started noticing a headache, a dull gnawing sensation on both sides of my head. It is day 14 of prometrium now (CD32) and I am still feeling this. If I bend over to pick up something it hurts even more.
He does monitor me with 2 blood tests per cycle, one at ovulation and one a week later and an ultrasound at ovulation (always found 3-4 follicles on each side and said my uterus looks good. He said my tubes are not blocked because he checked them after the surgery 2 years ago. The last 2 cycles I was also taking crinone 2 days after ovulation.
Ovulation should occur around 36 hours after the HCG shot.so a day and a half after the shot. Are you taking Crinone cream as your progesterone supp? I have taken that many times. It is gross cause it is messy and it gives some pregnancy symptoms so it can be deceiving. I can't think of anything that you can not do while on it, but I'll let you know if I think of anything. I am doing the ovulation kit starting on day 10 to pinpoint ovulation, and then they will begin blood work to check levels. So I don't think the medrol is necessary for pinpointing transfer time. I think that is what the blood work is for. It seems like the 2 meds they want to put me on is to minimize rejection and sustain pg. Both of which should not be an issue for me. Do either one of these meds "control" your cycle? I know lupron does, but I will not be taking that.

I had a lot of breast tenderness last month bc I was taking prometrium and esterdiol, when I told my doc she said prometrium was causing it, this month I'm only taking esterdiol 2mg a day and I have extermely sore breast again. Not sure if it's due to esterdiol or I'm pregnant.
I am on day 22 of cycle. I took clomid 50mg at beginning and have been on prometrium by mouth since day 14. I have been feeling strange today and noticed a little bloody tissue in the bath tub. I am have low back pain and some cramping. I felt ovulation pain on day 14 but the opk did not give me a positive until day 16. Does this sound like I am pregnant?
I was also on Estradiol cycle days 8-12 and am now on progesterone suppositories cycle day 17 until I get my period or a positive pregnancy test.
I had an HCG trigger shot 10,000 units (Profasi, Pregnyl) on cycle day 15.
