I have been on my menstrual cycle for 3 weeks now and i'm starting to get worried. Should I be? I was in the hospital recently with an abscess in my throat and the day after I was released I started my period and it is now 3 weeks later and I am still bleeding and passing alot of clots. A friend told me it could be my body getting rid of all that infection from when I was in the hospital. I am still worried though. Can you give me some advice?? PLEASE????
My ob/gyn has put me on Prometrium to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. I still have not gotten my period, and I am 3 days late.
I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.
It would be worthwhile to test both of you if only one of you was tested
2) I doubt that the single strand MTHFR finding is significant, but agree that extra folic acid cannot hurt and might help
3) I would hesitate to start prometrium on day 12 of your cycle. Prometrium is given to treat luteal phase defect, but there really is no evidence that we are able to diagnose luteal phase defect, or that luteal phase defect causes recurrent pregnancy loss.
her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes. I stopped taking the prometrium th week before I called her. On th 23, I was told that I didn't ovulated at all. Could you explain your intake on the prometrium process to me so I could have a better understanding how it works. Thank you.
I have never engaged in any sexual activities and do not understand how I got this disease. I took Prometrium in the past to regulate my menstruate cycle. I did some research on this drug and one of side effects for this drug is Herpes. Is it possible this medicine could cause a false positive or a positive blood results for Herpes Type 2?
Has any one taken Prometrium for abnormal bleeding? and if so did this medicine really works??.Thanks for any advice, it's very much appreciated.
Hello, I am hoping that someone out there can help me my last menstrual cycle was on October 18th, 2008. I never got one in November and it is now December and still nothing. I have been haveing lower abdomen pains off and on since I was susspost to get my period in november. I have taken several pregnancy tests and they have come back negative, I also went to the doctors cause I was concerned, but the doctor was a jerk and was not concerned at all.
I had a lot of breast tenderness last month bc I was taking prometrium and esterdiol, when I told my doc she said prometrium was causing it, this month I'm only taking esterdiol 2mg a day and I have extermely sore breast again. Not sure if it's due to esterdiol or I'm pregnant.
then after I stopped breast feeding my son nothing. BC usually works and brings on my cycle but then it disappears if I stop taking it.
RE put me on prometrium 200mg for 5 days. It just finished my last pill on Sat, so now a waiting game. A friend took prometrium for 5 days and had her period 4 days after she took her last pill. Heard it can take up to a week?
This is only my 2nd month with RE and 1st time I'm taking any type of meds besides BC.
-) And yes, it would be lupron (and possibly b/c) that would help regulate your cycle, not medrol or progesterone. If those are the only two meds he or she is planing on using, then you're right, it's just to help with implantation and maintain the pregnancy. You know, I was thinking....maybe you could ask for a progesterone test the day of transfer to see what your natural levels are. That way, you have the option to change your mind if your levels are low. Just a thought...
THE ONLY EXCEPTION WAS WHEN I WAS ON MY MENSTURAL CYCLE AND AGAIN I WOULD HAVE EXPLOSIVE DIARREAH (NOTICED A LITTLE BIT OF BLOOD). NOW I AM BACK TO THE PAINFUL DIARREAH, SOMETIMES IT HURTS TO SIT DOWN. i HAVE NO APPETTIE, IF I EAT EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT MY STOMACH HURTS AND FEELS FULL. IT SEEMS LIKE ITS A CONSTANT DULL ACHE OR CRAMPY FEELING THAT FLARES EVERY SO OFTEN. WITHIN THE LAST WEEK THE SUN HAS COME OUT AND ITS BEEN HOT AND I HAVE FELT WORSE AND SICK SINCE THE TEMPERATRE WARMED UP.

I am 22, and i am confused about my period. The last one came on the 6th september and till now i haven't seen the next one, and its the 12th of october already and it still hasn't come. Although i had protected sex on the 18th september and another protected one on the 1st october and another on the 4th october, but unprotected.
During these periods, i had an ulcer crisis and i was on lansoprazole and amoxillin, tagamet, pcm for about 8 days.
A woman with a light period is not gaining much thickness in her endometrial lining during the early part of the menstrual cycle. This is usually an indication that estrogen levels are lower than normal. If estrogen levels are low, progesterone levels are likely to also be low and a woman may or may not ovulate with her cycles.
