When I returned to the doctor a week later, he said that my hormone level came back at 12.4 and informed me that that is extremely low. He said that my body would have had to have produced more of the hormone otherwise I would have already miscarried. (Before the appointment with him, I had an ultrasound done that confirmed everything was normal.) He ordered more labs to make sure that the hormone levels are where they need to be and asked me to schedule a follow up in a week.
I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.
Monday night my bleeding became heavier and red like period again. Lots of back pain and cramping. On Tuesday I was told my Saturday Progesterone levels were 17-very good. OB said to keep taking Prometrium and to take it twice daily due to bleeding. He said U/S would not show anything yet. Tuesday afternoon my bleeding stopped and did not start again until Wednesday morning. It is now Wednesday evening and my bleeding has stopped again.
I had a lot of breast tenderness last month bc I was taking prometrium and esterdiol, when I told my doc she said prometrium was causing it, this month I'm only taking esterdiol 2mg a day and I have extermely sore breast again. Not sure if it's due to esterdiol or I'm pregnant.
I had 2 miscarriages in the past and with this one i went on prometrium and baby aspirin although nothing was ever diagnosed either. i did not experience any bleeding as a side effect of the prometrium though. have you had a scan yet?
Good luck throughout the 2ww! I am feeling better today. I work in an ER so its tough trying to take it easy! Were you on Clomid when you had OHSS? IVF is next on agenda and so scared to get it again. I don't wish that on anyone!
I had an IUI a few weeks ago and then started taking prometrium for ten days. I finished up last Wednesday so it has been 5 days. How long until I should expect my period after my last prometrium?
8 weeks later, i started to get really intense period crampng that quickly turned into awful abdominal pain but no blood. I went back to my dr who did another ultrasound and saw blood clots in my uterus. I had scarring near my cervix that was blocking my menstrual flow. i ultimately needed to get surgery to remove scarring. I don't want to scare you at all, but PLEASE get this looked at.
How far along are you? Did he tell you what your hcg levels were? I had a mc back in Sep ending in a d&c and a natural mc Feb 8th. The levels are supposed to double every 72 hours. If the levels aren't doubling as they should be, then that could be an indication that there is a problem.
I have never engaged in any sexual activities and do not understand how I got this disease. I took Prometrium in the past to regulate my menstruate cycle. I did some research on this drug and one of side effects for this drug is Herpes. Is it possible this medicine could cause a false positive or a positive blood results for Herpes Type 2?
Has any one taken Prometrium for abnormal bleeding? and if so did this medicine really works??.Thanks for any advice, it's very much appreciated.
I have had a migraine every day starting at around noon and lasting until I go to bed. I took prometrium prior to pregnancy for period induction which i took for 10 days and i would get a "withdrawl" migraine for a day or two. Have any of you ladies experienced this? I'm really getting sick of taking tylenol every 4 hours but my head throbs so bad i can't see straight if i don't. I called my doc today and of course he's out of the office.

They only took my progesterone levels once after I started the Prometrium to make sure it was theraputic and it was in the 20's don't remember exactly. But they haven't taken it again. But I've had 4 ultrasounds where we have seen baby's heartbeat and everything is well.
