pristiq

Avatar f tn 1, is pristiq even used for anxiety? i went on the website and read NOTHING that said GAD/panic. 2. my doc said i can just cut my klonopin dosage back to .25 mg am/pm today. no need to taper down since its only been 2 weeks? im not too sure about that? should i just taper down anyways, and if so how do i do it? thanks for any help!
Avatar f tn Pristiq is approved for depression, but may also help with panic disorder and anxiety.
Avatar f tn I have OCD with panic disorder and was in a bad way with horrible panic and anxiety. The Pristiq worked well but slow. My Doc raised my doses in 50 ml increments until I got up to 200 ml. I felt better little bits at a time but it really kicked in at 200 ml. It goes slow but it does work. Don't give up on it too soon. Don't be afraid to go up in dosage a little bit at a time. I've heard of people going up to 400ml.
Avatar m tn i have major depressive disorder, dysthimic disorder, and panic disorder. i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.5/325 mg of norco 3 x daily. I've never had performance issues until a few days ago with a new relationship that i dont want to **** up because she is a very positive and awesome person. im freaking out about being 26 yrs old and having performance issues.

7650348 tn?1393006631 My old Dr put me on (paxil and lexapro) without telling me anything but they are made for panic disorder. Again it made me feel horrible like it did when I was teen this time with anxiety and panic. He took me off and I never went back to the Dr until about 4 years ago. I went to the Dr because I was getting anxiety and really bad panic attacks. Being a whole new Dr. I told myself give this another try with a new Dr. He put me on xanax for bed with a dose of zoloft.
Avatar m tn I was on lexapro and I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder. I found that it did not help from me. When I first started medication Paxil Cr was perfect for me! I no longer had any anxiety! i took it for about a year and then got off it because one side effect was increased appetite and I gained like 20+ pounds. So I then went to Effexor, Lexapro, Remron, and I am now on Pristiq. SO far the prestiq has helped my depression.
Avatar f tn ve been on pristiq and ativan for a Month now for anxiety and panic attacks. Neither seem to help but I am giving it another month just because I have been in very stressful situations lately that just might be too overwhelming for the medication to help.
Avatar f tn The best doctor to seek out for a thorough assessment and diagnosis is a psychiatrist. Other anxiety disorders are panic disorder, GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), social anxiety disorder (social phobia). SSRI stands for "Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor", which is a commonly prescribed antidepressant medication for anxiety. Examples of SSRI meds are Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, Lexapro.
Avatar m tn This was in the hope that maybe I could reduce or get off Wellbutrin (memory problems) if the Pristiq did not cause sexual side effects. I have been on Pristiq for a month and a half now. The transition was seamless. Within two weeks, I was no longer clenching my jaw and stopped using the mouth guard. I am also seeing a lessening of the sexual side effects. I did not have any of the sweating or dry mouth, but that may be because I have been on an SNRI for awhile and my body was used to it.
Avatar f tn That basically is one reason why I do not want to take it. It also doesnt say on the pristiq website that is treats anxiety and/or panic disorder as it does on the Effexor XR website because the FDA has not even aproved it yet for this.
Avatar n tn Does this program provide help for those afflicted with Bipolar disorder and Borderline personality disorder?
776095 tn?1243146888 Hi amanda , sorry to hear about your suffering i understand how you feel though ive also been suffering panic attacks for 2 yrs accompined by anxiety attacks...So for ive tried abilify i think thats how you spell it lol sorry and geodon and am currently on paxil....I havent been on the paxil long enough to see results yet...
Avatar f tn I was on sertraline for 3+ years but was switch to pristiq and began to take it today. I would like to know what to expect because I tend to panic when I experience any changes in my health. I have also been suffering from allergies for a week and a half and wonder if this will have any effects on the switch.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering how the Pristiq worked for you? I've been on Effexpor XR for around 5 years, but it just doesn't seem to work anymore for me so my dr. put me on Pristiq. I'm a little nervous about trying it, because I've been on Effexor for so long. I've tried getting off of it but the withdrawal effects are horrible. I'm hoping maybe the Pristiq will help with that.
Avatar f tn ve recently been experiencing panic attacks. My Dr added Pristiq to my treatment. As I understand, Pristiq is a more purified form of Effexor. Since starting on the Pristiq two weeks ago, I have felt like pure poo poo. I went to a GP today, thinking I may have a virus or something. She said she would NEVER prescribe both Effexor and Pristiq together. I'm pretty confused on which doctor I'm supposed to believe. I'm going to try to stop the Pristiq, but am not sure what will happen.
Avatar m tn I was on Pristiq for about 5 months. I absolutely loved it when I was on it. I was a bit dizzy when I first started taking it, but that went away in no time. I am also on Wellbutrin. My therapist and group therapist find it funny when I talk about how much I love my medicine. I know it sounds weird but to see how I was before taking it and to see how I was just weeks after made a huge difference!
Avatar f tn I am taking 50mg pristiq for generalized anxiety disorder brought on by my graves disease. I have notice i am becoming more combative with friends and family. I am bothered by the slightlest things and I am getting aggressive? is this due to the medication?
Avatar f tn She told me to stop taking the effexor (which scared me, I know there are horrible withdrawl symptoms because I have experienced them when I would miss my meds.) She put me on Pristiq and Klonopin for when I have a panic attack. Yesterday I took the Pristiq and not the Effexor and when I need the Klonopin (I needed it twice) I took it. When I went to bed at night I was ok..I slept until 3am woke up for a little while and went back to sleep.
1559289 tn?1294749613 My problem started in 2005 with really bad panic attacks and got help for those *effexor xr and xanax* it started getting better and havent had a panic attack since 2005 but suffer from generalized anxiety disorder. it is getting progressively worse to the point that it is affecting my everyday life and my performance at my job. 244195 tn?1239492461 Hi names alicia im 19 years old i have been having panic and anxiety problems(so my DR says) for a couple years now..right now i am takin pristiq 50mg once a day, i was on effexor xr 75mg but my insurance ended and i couldn't afford it... i have weird symptoms that question me.. horriable feelings of feeling unreal like i am in a constant dream, my surrounding seems strange to me like im not really there, i feel as is if im fake..
506273 tn?1260138781 Pristiq is not a first choice of doctors for an anti-depressant, but perhaps your doctor has a reason for you taking it. Or perhaps you have tried other anti-depressants that haven't worked. Effexor was the anti-depressant that worked for me out of the several that I tried. (I never tried a lot of them). Pristiq is a newer upgraded version of it. So I am also taking 50 mg of Pristiq because it restored my sex drive after taking Effexor for many years.
Avatar f tn Well I have panic disorder with agoraphobia and my new Dr put me on Pristiq because I was on Zoloft and it made me very sick. Anyways, this med hasn't made me sick but I have been on it for 13 days and I cant really tell a difference... I know it could take up to 4 weeks but shouldn't I be seeing some improvement?? My anxiety level is still very high and I still cant leave the house alone.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the advice Im going to call my doctor today and cross my fingers he helps out!
3215224 tn?1345829226 now i am back on full 50mgs but i fond out my new ins. will not pay for the pristiq or the dr. i go to that perscibes it. I do not no what is going to happen now. Do u have any suggestions?
1326513 tn?1276518001 I am so so tired lately. I take Ativan when needed for anxiety, which is more like .5 mg a day, at most 1mg. I'm on pristiq for depression, and seroquoel to stablize my mood and help the pristiq work better. I'm also on toporal XL to keep my heart from racing all the time. The doctor said to avoid all caffeine which i do, only water, juice, sprite and soy milk! I avoid any type of OTC meds with caffeine too. But i am so stinking tired and have zero energy becuase of this.
Avatar f tn Yeah i know cymbalta isnt a SSRI its jus that use both word so often that when im typin fast i might confuse them, you are right and it's a SNRIS ( serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor ) sorry for the confusion it may have lead to. But thanks for corecting me it's really important to me to be always right when talking about meds.
