pristiq for panic

1, is pristiq even used for anxiety? i went on the website and read NOTHING that said GAD/panic. 2. my doc said i can just cut my klonopin dosage back to .25 mg am/pm today. no need to taper down since its only been 2 weeks? im not too sure about that? should i just taper down anyways, and if so how do i do it? thanks for any help!

ve been on pristiq and ativan for a Month now for anxiety and panic attacks. Neither seem to help but I am giving it another month just because I have been in very stressful situations lately that just might be too overwhelming for the medication to help.

Wellbutrin is an energizing antidepressant that can increase anxiety and actually cause panic attacks in some people. Pristiq is approved for depression, but may also help with panic disorder and anxiety.

I was on sertraline for 3+ years but was switch to pristiq and began to take it today. I would like to know what to expect because I tend to panic when I experience any changes in my health. I have also been suffering from allergies for a week and a half and wonder if this will have any effects on the switch.

I had been prescribed Pristiq with a higher dose of alrazolam. I waited for almost 2 years for the side effects and worse panic attack to subside. Increase of alprazoloam he prescribed me 2mg every 8 hours. I never took the full amount, I am honest with my Dr and told him I could only handle .5 in the am .5 in the afternoon and the full dose at bed (when I took the pristiq as well). He uped my dose of pristiq to 75mg cutting a pills n half.

ve recently been experiencing panic attacks. My Dr added Pristiq to my treatment. As I understand, Pristiq is a more purified form of Effexor. Since starting on the Pristiq two weeks ago, I have felt like pure poo poo. I went to a GP today, thinking I may have a virus or something. She said she would NEVER prescribe both Effexor and Pristiq together. I'm pretty confused on which doctor I'm supposed to believe. I'm going to try to stop the Pristiq, but am not sure what will happen.

This was in the hope that maybe I could reduce or get off Wellbutrin (memory problems) if the Pristiq did not cause sexual side effects. I have been on Pristiq for a month and a half now. The transition was seamless. Within two weeks, I was no longer clenching my jaw and stopped using the mouth guard. I am also seeing a lessening of the sexual side effects. I did not have any of the sweating or dry mouth, but that may be because I have been on an SNRI for awhile and my body was used to it.

If you only suffer from GAD and a little depression you might want to give pristiq and buspar a try. I know Buspar alone is just for GAD. and of course pristiq is an antidepressant. I hope this helps.

She told me to stop taking the effexor (which scared me, I know there are horrible withdrawl symptoms because I have experienced them when I would miss my meds.) She put me on Pristiq and Klonopin for when I have a panic attack. Yesterday I took the Pristiq and not the Effexor and when I need the Klonopin (I needed it twice) I took it. When I went to bed at night I was ok..I slept until 3am woke up for a little while and went back to sleep.

I was on Pristiq for about 5 months. I absolutely loved it when I was on it. I was a bit dizzy when I first started taking it, but that went away in no time. I am also on Wellbutrin. My therapist and group therapist find it funny when I talk about how much I love my medicine. I know it sounds weird but to see how I was before taking it and to see how I was just weeks after made a huge difference!

and take it, my anxiety or panic attack is usually at least a 7 on a scale from 1-10. Five years ago, I took Zoloft for anxiety for 6 months. I remember feeling good on it, but the initial side effects and sexual side effects were awful. So, my new doc recommended an SNRI instead. I also have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).

all that great stuff... my whole life but it finally came to a head when i had a couple of really severe panic attacks out of no where. i had blood work done to rule out physical health and i finally went to see a therapist and then a psychiatric nurse. the out come i have general anxiety disorder, depression and bi polar one disorder or so i am told. i was prescribed pristiq and lamictal low low doses....

I tried zolft it was to stimulating gave me horrible panic attacks. Was on paxil for almost ten years it stopped working like it use to. I am so scared to try another med but i am desperate. Please help any suggestions??

Hi amanda , sorry to hear about your suffering i understand how you feel though ive also been suffering panic attacks for 2 yrs accompined by anxiety attacks...So for ive tried abilify i think thats how you spell it lol sorry and geodon and am currently on paxil....I havent been on the paxil long enough to see results yet...

I am so so tired lately. I take Ativan when needed for anxiety, which is more like .5 mg a day, at most 1mg. I'm on pristiq for depression, and seroquoel to stablize my mood and help the pristiq work better. I'm also on toporal XL to keep my heart from racing all the time. The doctor said to avoid all caffeine which i do, only water, juice, sprite and soy milk! I avoid any type of OTC meds with caffeine too. But i am so stinking tired and have zero energy becuase of this.

so ive had thoracic rib and spine issues for 8 years now. i had the swine flu last october, pancreatitis last november, a work fall that caused a fracture on a bone in my spine, the death of my nephew a few months ago, and just had my appendix out 3 weeks ago. i have major depressive disorder, dysthimic disorder, and panic disorder. i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.

I was just wondering how the Pristiq worked for you? I've been on Effexpor XR for around 5 years, but it just doesn't seem to work anymore for me so my dr. put me on Pristiq. I'm a little nervous about trying it, because I've been on Effexor for so long. I've tried getting off of it but the withdrawal effects are horrible. I'm hoping maybe the Pristiq will help with that.

when i was on lexapro i had panic attacks for 2 weeks straight.Cuz they told me it would take 2 to 4 weeks and that time they never even told me about xanax or even tried to offer to me but that lexapro i thought i was dying everyday couldn't sleep or eat at all.But 2 weeks was enough of that crazy panic .Sorry i don't have a good thing to say about lexapro i too am very sensitive to anti meds tried 4 different one's didn't work.

You said you were on Pristiq for about a month now and the anxiety has come back in full force? Is that right? Well, I was on Pristiq about 2 years ago for panic attacks/anxiety and about a month into it, my panic came back. Then I upped my Pristiq, but it did make me nausious (sp?) and sweaty! This was all under my regular dr, so when I finally got into see a psychiatrist he put me on Xanax to switch me over to Lexapro.

I really dont feel depressed at all,I feel ok when i had my clonazepan dosage,but what if I become an addict, how can I start taking pristiq and not being scared? Like I said above , i feel more anxious and panic than depressed. So Pristiq will work with my anxiety? What about Clonazepan withdrawals?

i Started taking Lexapro, that did not work...so I took Pristiq. For a couple months I called it my miracle drug becuase it seriously reduced my anxiety. Because I felt as if my anxiety was taken care of, I decided to tackle my depression problem but doubling my pristiq dosage and start taking Welbutrin. All of a sudden my anxiety started increasing again, so after about 2 months I stopped Welbutrin...and here we are months later and my anxiety is getting worse and worse.

I been taking the pristiq 3 weeks now went on it straight from zoloft. I was taking it for anxiety/panic. I did a good tapering plan I am doing it very slowly now. i tried doing it cold turkey and I thought my life was over. I spoke with the doctor and said ti was ok to do it that way. I just am so afraid whenever I stop to feel this way!

What drug has helped you? I am now taking Klonopin for the anxiety and Prozac for depression. I would like to cut the Klonopin or at least cut down (now taking 1 mg/day). The Prozac isn't helping my depression at all and I have given it months to work. I have heard good things about Lexapro from many people - that it works for anxiety & depression. My family doctor wants me to take Paxil.

hey man,u just take pristiq 100mg and it will do well for u..when i started taking pristiq 50mg i experience mood swings but pristiq 100mg is doing well for me....it has least side effects....

I have had the absolute worst anxiety since I was 2 years old. I started taking Lexapro...but that didnt do anything for me. Then I took Pristiq....and my anxiety went from 100% 24/7 to almost 0...in a matter of 2 weeks. I can honestly say that it has saved my life. I take 50mg which I believe is one of the lowest doses and it worked absolute wonders on me. Everyone is different, but i definitely would encourage you to try it.

The thought creates so much anxiety that I have panic attacks. This has left me seriously fed up and depressed. The thought is "what if my tattoo sleeve is cursed"? or "your tattoo is cursed". This has been going on for 3 months or so since I smoked some marijuana one night. I cant shake the thoughts! I have been put on Zyprexa and Pristiq recently. Can anyone offer me any advice on how to deal with these thoughts? Thank you!

I have been on lorazapam for quite some time and my doctor is wanting me to wean myself off of it,but I expereience withdrawl symptoms-nausea,insomnia,panic feeling,sweating etc. I also take clonazapam,prometrium,pristiq-(anti-dpress.). IIf I take the anxiety meds. during the day then I am tired!! I was put on these because I have panic attacks. I need some advise!!!
