1346429 tn?1303874854 I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.
Avatar f tn deflatine is ok, always read the labels, over the counter antacids contain a very high content of sodium which can raise the blood pressure leading to renal failure.
1551963 tn?1302292732 I have taken prilosec on and off for 17 years. I have never had high blood pressure withit. Palpitations is a side effect of zantac and I have that problem when I'm taken zantac. I've never had any problems with the prilosce though. My prilosec has been doubled to 40 mg also. So??? Can't help with that question. Everyone reacts differently to different meds. I've taken prilosec and zantac for years. Acid reflux got really bad and switdhed to prevacid.
Avatar n tn My doctor diagnosed me almost a year ago with "the worst case of acid reflux [she'd] ever seen." Literally, I would drink a glass of water and get reflux issues. I was put on Nexium for a long time, and I have since switched to Prilosec OTC because I ran out of health insurance. It's been about five days on Prilosec but I keep feeling nauseous in the morning after I take it, but it's nothing too bad and it goes away fairly quickly.
Avatar f tn Felt very weird . Back and left arm pain .I took my own Blood pressure 174 over 96 , After the 24 hour time limit on the prilosrc Reached the 24 hour mark I began feeling beter and my pressure is 136 over 86 . I dont have to be told ,not to take it any more.
Avatar m tn Would this also cause like a lightheaded feeling? sometimes as well it feels as if my body is here but my mind is in a different world. It is hard to describe how I feel but I am just wondering if that would still be considered as the same issue.
Avatar m tn My husband has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type II diabetes and reflux. He has heart disease in his family( an uncle and grandfather died from a heart attack and his dad had quadruple bypass). He is husky. He has been on Prilosec for years. Recently he has started having trouble swallowing his medicines. He also will get a tightness in his throat and vomit. It has mostly happened within an hour of waking. Occasionally it has been later in the day.
1246733 tn?1268691294 After an endoscopy it was discovered that I have acid reflux. I also was diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2010. I have a home blood pressure monitoring kit and sometimes notice spikes in my pressure (150/99) when I've consumed spicy or acidic foods. After taking acid reflux meds (prescription or over the counter) roughly one hour later my pressure returns to normal (120/80).
Avatar n tn Are you on any medications for high blood pressure or others? BP and some other medications cause the valve that separates the esophagus form the stomach to relax and this allows vapors and or stomach acid to creep up into the esophagus and causes indigestion and Gerd or Acid Reflux. If that is the case Prilosec may help.
Avatar m tn Now I am worried and trying to understand if the Prilosec caused it. The blood pressure is also higher especially the systolic at 140 to 150. Is Prilosec known to have an effect directly on urine albumin or indirectly through blood pressure? I have read warnings about kidney disease being associated with the long term use of PPIs. I have to take Prilosec for another 3 weeks. Any insights or guidance will be appreciated.

155701 tn?1230047101 I was put on Atenolol for tachycardia and high blood pressure after undergoing thyroid surgery for toxic nodules. I keep reading about how certain antacids can cause your blood pressure to go up. I have GERD and am experiencing esophagitis again, and I would like to be able to take something for it. Is Zantac75 okay to take with a beta-blocker? And will it increase my blood pressure? I can't seem to find good information anywhere on the internet or even from my endocrinologist.
Avatar f tn Now I have elevated blood pressure, and my GERD is back in full force. I also had a low white blood count (3.8). Any ideas of what this could be?
1131131 tn?1275108488 Common side effect when starting are nausea and dizziness. High blood pressure, sweating, tremors, shaking are definitely a bad reactions and might also occur with a SNRI. You can try but i think this bad reaction can be avoided with Lyrica or Neurotin but who knows, you could have a bad reaction too but they mechanisms of action are totally different from the SNRIs and SSRIs. Please consider that I'm not a doctor nor a pharmacist and those issues must be discussed with you doctor.
Avatar m tn When a person has heart disease, the blood pressure needs to remain low. Your mom's blood pressure is not too low. As her blood builds back to where it should be, she may see an increase in her blood pressure. The main thing with heart disease is to keep the pressure down. Normal for an average person is 120/72. Doctors usually want it lower in people with heart disease. Her medications are needed to help her live a longer lifespan.
Avatar m tn Other than that it can also be due to postural hypotension as you also have dizziness. Get your blood pressure checked. Both high and low BP can also cause headache with dizziness. If you use computer a lot or read a lot then the symptoms of headache, dizziness, etc could be due to compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region.
915119 tn?1341948989 if your blood pressure is too high it restricts the blood vessels and can stop baby from getting enough blood and oxygen. if it gets extremely high it can cause seizures. are you seeing spots or having blurred vision? I agree with bjbbeauchamp, try nor to stress! and if it goes up any more then go to L&D! its better to be safe than sorry! I have had HORRIBLE swelling in my legs for months now, but no protein in my urine until the other week.
Avatar n tn I am 35 years old and never thought I had HIgh Blood pressure until recently. As I am into my higher studies, when visiting the doctor for a fall, they told me I had high pressure readings of 160/110. My pulse was also high, ( I was diagnosed with tachycardia some years ago which was again put down to stress.) They put it down to anxiety and stress, and gave me atenenol 25 mg. Since then I have developed a fear, and my pulse raises whenever the doctor checks my pressure, and my pressure is high.
Avatar f tn 2wks tomorrow since surgery and still have tingle in feet and hands, and blood pressure still not going down, was 146/97 today. I just dont understand to be like 97/72 up till i fall asleep for surgery and to wake up this high, and stay that way. Dr says he dont know what to do next, what it could be. I know this cant be good to go on now with this high of blood pressure and nothing done about it. I dont know where to turn to next.
Avatar m tn 4 years ago after the birth of my child I was on 4 different medications. Today none, and my blood pressure is 100/60. All the ideas mammo gave you on exercise, low salt diet and more is what helped me get off medications and get my BP back on track. It isnt good to walk around with uncontrolled blood pressure so for sure get in as soon as you can and get things sorted around with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have had high blood pressure my whole pregnancy, often as high as 170s/100. I was put on meds and told modified bed rest last week at 35w5d. Ihave not had to do urone collection as when it spikes they make me come back the following 2days for checks and urine samples. If it os still high this week at my 36w5d appt while on the meds i think they will probably put me on full bed rest until i deliver.
Avatar m tn I am a 58 year old female and my question is about high blood pressure and sex. While I understand blood pressure rises during sex I wonder if it is normal to get a sudden onset pounding migraine. This is new the last two times at climax. I was curious and checked my blood pressure the last time and it was 160/88. The headache is sudden and severe and remains for hours after. Is this something I should be concerned about?
Avatar f tn I went in at 35 weeks and 4 days and my blood pressure was high and they gave me meds and did a 24 hour urine test but during the night, even on the meds my blood pressure got to 180/110 and they c sectioned my baby that day.
