I stopped using Premarin when I learned how it was produced. (the equine version). When I asked was there an alternative, my doctor prescribed Angelique, which is, as I understand it, plant based. Please don't use the natural version. It's made with horse urine, preferably from draft horses because they can produce more in volume, due to their size. These mares are kept in pens where they cannot even move or turn. This sometimes causes blood clots.

I was told it was safe to take premarin and then move over to estrodial (which is a bioidentical hormone). I was stage 1A.....I have since developed what they think is an ovarian remnant cyst that could have very well been brought on by the HRT - estrogen causing it to grow. I have also been told to stay away from the over the counter remedies, as soy, black cohash, etc can mimic estrogen. There is a connection with ovarian cancer and estrogen.

My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy. I started having very bad stinging sharp pains in my lower legs and discussed this with my doctor but he didnt take me very serious and only lowered the dosage.

Has anyone ever heard of this drug called Premarin? I was given it after the surgery yesterday and according to the leaflet it's just a female hormone. I assume Estrogen? I asked a few doctors and got different answers from each one.

the other day about some concerns about depression and anxiety issues she put me on a small dose of Premarin 0.03 a very low dose. Well I have read some stuff that is good and bad about it! Can anyone share with me anything about this medication.. I will not take it till I am sure it will work!

Mother us around 10+ and the daughter is 4+ years old. The woman that owned them got more involved with horse rescue and the baby was not wirjed with much. They were well cared for and in good health. Well, the baby still nurses!! Daughter had them Vet checked when she got them and the Vet said it was unusual but has seen it before. She said the mother will eventually get tired of it. It's been 4 years!!

I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...

Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.

Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.

I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.

can you tell me what you mean by natural hormones? premarin is a hormone replacement made from the urine of a female horse..I dont recomed it. Just watch the dosage as a dog weighs nowhere near what a horse does. Good luck, should work just fine. Might try just putting it on the kibble dry and stirring it in unless you mix his food with water all the time.

If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.

I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. Did the blood test route, etc., took whopping doses of Viatmin D and got put on Premarin, the lowest dose. I did not do well on that. I became actually worse, emotionally and it didn't help the sweats, irritability or anything. My doctor told me to try Estroven, and it's better, but I still feel like crap. So, it could be not the Premarin, since I take that every month, and the premarin cream I've added isn't a large amount. Are you saying that it could be related to my period itself, and the placebo pills, even adding the Premarin? Hmm, but that's monthly, too. Or, it may be the sinus issue acting up again, or just something that can't be named.
