Avatar f tn Will premarin and hrt help with the anxiety that comes along with menopause? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from researching it on the net. I'm desperate for help.

Avatar f tn I have been going thru menopause for 1 1/2 yrs, I was put om premilin .
414018 tn?1268611672 The surgery kicked it in full swing. I was on premarin for awhile to try and help with hot flashes but as it did not seem to be doing much, I was taken off of it. If possible, can you explain your situation a little more?
1194973 tn?1385503904 According to the website for the drug it is conjugated estrogen tablets. Apparently it's typically used to treat menopause symptoms.
880900 tn?1467270141 Maybe that could be it?? There are also other options besides Premarin that you could look for that may be less expensive. Enjuvia is another option. YOu could also try other delivery systems besides oral estrogen - patches (although in Mexico may not be the best option), a spray or topical creams or gels.
Avatar f tn Thank you for responding. I WILL NOT take premarin. luckily I work at a pharmacy and get the pharmicist's opinion on medication.
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar f tn I finally convinced my gp doctor to check my hormone levels and according to the nurse they came back normal. My gp doctor had already prescribed Premarin for me to take at .3mg. daily. I have not had a hysterectomy. He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes.
Avatar f tn I am 55 yo. Have been experiencing menopause symptoms for about 3 years. Did the blood test route, etc., took whopping doses of Viatmin D and got put on Premarin, the lowest dose. I did not do well on that. I became actually worse, emotionally and it didn't help the sweats, irritability or anything. My doctor told me to try Estroven, and it's better, but I still feel like crap. I don't sleep well at all, I am irritable and snappish and that is NOT my personality.
Avatar n tn I took Premarin for four months last year, and while it did help with the flashes and night sweats, it did little to help with my anxiety, stress and mood swings. If anything, it seemed to make things worse. I’ve never taken Effexor, but I have seen that it has been prescribed for menopause symptoms. I had a look at the listed side-effects and at what people are saying about it at askapatient.
Avatar n tn I am sure he will not be happy with me going off the premarin. Do you think it is possible this is menopause or the beginning I am going through?
Avatar n tn m not entirely certain as it seems to be for menopause. What circumstances surround your prolonged period? Is it breakthrough bleeding from missing a pill or taking a pill late? Did it just randomly happen? Does your doctor suspect you are pre-menopausal? (I have no idea of your age, so it's worth asking. My mom had really long periods when she was pre-menopausal.
Avatar f tn So, she said that doing LEEP or crytology is not an option. She gave me Premarin Cream to use 3 times weekly and wants me to come back in June for a repeat paap smear. Any ideas on alternate treatment?
8725523 tn?1399590462 Hi, Osphena (ospemifene) is a non-estrogen medication that reverses certain changes in vaginal tissue that are caused by menopause. Osphena is used to relieve pain during sexual intercourse in menopausal women. Premarin is an oestrogen cream and can be sued along with progesterone creams for better results. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations.
Avatar n tn The cancer cells were inside my ovaries, so they were removed during surgery. My doctor suggest I try Premerin for a hormonal therapy. Is it safe? Please advise.
Avatar f tn If this is so, does anyone know how long it will take for the medicine to induce menopause, and how long will the medicine be needed to treat the symptoms? Since i'm uninsured and my period is making me very sick, especially those debilitating migraines, (probably, because i'm too old now) I'm trying to find a way to help myself. Thanks!
Avatar f tn 8 years ago I had a complete hysterectomy. I was on premarin for about 2 weeks and I quit taking it because it made me feel sick. Never went through any menopause symptoms. Now I'm 45 and having hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping, emotional.......is it possible that I'm going through menopause now after 8 years? Any one ever hear of this or know what might be happening?
Avatar f tn All blood tests have been normal except for white. I had a hysterectomy 35 years ago and have taken low dose of Premarin since. After weighing pros and cons of hormone replacement for me, all doctors have said to continue meds. Also said that I won't have to go through symptoms of menopause. Next test will be ultrasound of stomach. For the last month, maybe longer I've had painful symptoms of gallstones. I will tell my doctor about them, next appointment.
Avatar f tn ve been going to see my ob/gyn about this problem for years now. He tells me that the vaginal walls are thinning because of my age and the menopause, so he prescribed Premarin. I started using it then I stopped because it didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference at first. Then I went bakc to him with the same symptoms he told me that I needed to stay on the Premarin for at least a month to see how that would work. I did that with some improvement but not a whole lot.
898095 tn?1241885301 Oh boy, do I ever hear you! Do you hear me screaming? Seriously... At times I get so down about the state of women's health particularly regarding this 'female' hormone issue that I have to bury the feelings or I would not get anything done that is proactive. I actually had a pretty negative thought as I was getting in my car after work today ... I thought, gee, if I didn't know better it is like doctors want us to just quit living in a sense.
Avatar f tn Vaginal dryness is a common issue women going through menopause have, unfortunately. Basically, as we start to go through that change, we produce less and less estrogen. This is the cause of the vaginal dryness. They make a vaginal cream specifically for this problem. One brand is Premarin. It's got estrogen in it but isn't dangerous as it is a topical type of cream for that area. But apparently it alleviates vaginal dryness very well.
Avatar f tn The Pedi perscribed her a cream called premarin for me to apply to the affected area 2x a day until I saw that it was getting better then to continue it until it had corrected itself. Well, I stopped putting the cream on my daughter about month into using it because I had noticed that she was starting to get a lot of peach fuzz in the area. I stopped using the cream but the hair is still there and now sone are turning brown!
Avatar f tn The right side of my body is freezing, I have not had a period for almost two years now, experiencing hot flashes for 4 years (thought it was menopause but after an exam by gyn she states I show no signs of menopause, wth?) FYI, the right side coldness of my body is new, 2 weeks now and is probably from the fact I multiple problems with my spine (lumbar, thorax and neck) soo most likely that is from either a: nerves being pinched or something touching my spinal cord. Butt..
