Common Questions and Answers about Pregnancy week by week development

pregnant

Avatar n tn The next thing he told us if that the embryo size is underdeveloped by 3 days and the sac by 1 week. It said this is not good and even though we found a HB, that there is only a single digit % chance that this pregnancy will go on. He also told us that if it did, by miracle, go on, that we should consider an amino because of much higher risks of genetic problems. Has anyone had this experience and if so, what was there outcome, both good and bad?
1432741 tn?1300202363 INTRODUCTION This week your baby is undergoing some extraordinary changes and developments. The head, heart, spinal cord, and some of the larger blood vessels begin to form. As these blood vessels form, the heart begins to pump fluid through them, and your baby's first red blood cells are created. Your baby is about 7 - 9 mm or 0.27 - 0.35 inches in length, (approximately the size of a grain of rice), and weighs about 1/30 of an ounce - less than a breath mint.
Avatar f tn By the end of third week the child's backbone spinal column and nervous system are forming. The liver, kidneys and intestines begin to take shape. Week 4: By the end of week four, the child is ten thousand times larger than the fertilized egg. Week 5: Eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop. Week 6: Brain waves are detectable; mouth and lips are present; fingernails are forming. Week 7: Eyelids, and toes form, nose distinct. The baby is kicking and swimming.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctors today and my midwife told me that when she looked at my ultrasound from two weeks ago my placenta was low ( by my cervix ) and they couldn't really see how the spine was developing. I go back next week for another ultrasound, i hope everything turns out okay. She was moving around a lot so hopefully that's why they couldn't tell. Has this happened to anyone before and end up turning out ok?
Avatar m tn After 3 embryo transfers and 2 weeks wait time, we had smile on our face when doctor said hcg level is +ve. Then RE called us for ultrasound at 7th week, we saw one sac but fetus was measuring at 5 weeks 2 days and no heart beats, doctor concluded implantation took place late. And RE called us again after 10 days for 2nd ultrasound.
Avatar f tn I would say a 20 week ultrasound is accurate. It can tell you the placenta's positions, baby's sex, baby's development, and about the amniotic fluid.
1363880 tn?1277836789 May 26th (LMP) -Jun 1st = week 1 June 2 - June 8th = week 2 June 9th - June 15th = week 3 June 16th - June 22nd = week 4 June 23rd - June 29th = week 5 June 30th starts the first day of week 6 therefore you have COMPLETED A FULL 5 weeks and are beginning the 6th week. You would be considered as 5wk 1 day today. Which is the same thing as technically being IN the 6th week. I hope this helps with the confusion.
Avatar n tn My doctor is going to induce me at 38 weeks as well if they don't come before. From all the research I've done it's totally routine to make sure twins are born by 38 weeks before they run into any type of distress or iugr.
Avatar n tn Sorry if its to personnal a question just curious. By the way congrats on the pregnancy, im sure that was a ball of emotions thinking you weren't having a baby and then finding out in fact you were!
Avatar n tn Hi. I had an ultrasound three weeks ago and I was 5 weeks 6 days. I had another one 1 week after that and it showed 6 weeks 6 days (exactly right on target), but I had another u/s two weeks later (today) and it showed 8 weeks 3 days instead of what we were expecting, 8 weeks 6 days, which would have kept it in line with my two week timing. Also, if you look at my LMP, I should really be 9 weeks 2 days although I know that I ovulated late on day 19.
Avatar n tn also keep in mind that a woman isn't pregnant for the first 2 weeks of pregnancy. I know it sounds weird, but they aren't. Pregnancy is dated from a ladies last menstrual period so it sounds accurate to me.
Avatar n tn pregnancy test positive but after 3 week 0f pregnancy test no fetus development and doc told me to another scan after a one week and i think its my 7th week.
Avatar f tn I am sorry for what you are going through. I had very low hcg levels with my first pregnancy last year. By 5 weeks i was spotting and by 7weeks i had miscarried naturally and passed the embryonic sac. It was so very hard but please don't lose hope. If this pregnancy ends in miscarriage, just know you are sacred for having the chance to hold life, however brief, within you. Try again only when your emotionally and physically ready. Xx bless.
796506 tn?1370191905 well, cd 17 today for me so just hoping i catch ovulation this month. Don't know quite when that time is. Anywhere between cd 12 and cd 33 so the hubbie is in for a real treat for 3 weeks! Ha! I am full-on folic-aciding this month though, and started an exercise regime, just wish he would try to help himself out. He's quite overweight and loves his coffee. He is taking baths that aren't as hot as the ones he used to take. Ohhhhh, please let it be this month!!! For all of us!!!
Avatar m tn Every pregnancy and situation is so different. I've heard of women having perfectly healthy babies. Here is what I learned when I became a volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center... A doctor came in and spoke with us and said that when the fetus is 8 weeks old is the point in which long term affects of alcohol and drugs will take their toll. At 2-8 weeks of development is when their organogenesis occurs (the layer of the fetal pole where the organs will begin to form and grow).
Avatar n tn I did not get screened for thyroid disease until I was 10 weeks pregnant. By then my TSH was 52 and FT4 .60 with the FT3 normal. I was put on 100 mcg of levoxyl and at 15 weeks retested. My levels were then normal for both FT3 and FT4 but TSH was still 7.8. I was bumped up to 125 mcg and now at 20 weeks found out that my TSH is 2.2 and my endocrinologist is bumping me up again to 137 mcg.
Avatar n tn Is this condition treatable and are the medication safe to take during pregnancy? Also we are worried about the fetus development. Do you think their is any risk? Thanks.
Avatar f tn If you are only at 4 1/2 weeks, it is too early to see anything on the ultrasound. Don't let it worry you. Go online and look up what an embryo looks like at 4 1/2 weeks of development, or google "ultrasounds in early pregnancy" and you will find that until the 5th week they really don't expect to see much of anything at all.
Avatar f tn and the guy i slept wit on july 8 did eject in me....im so confused and lonely...i hope my pregnancy goes by fast im due april 10.12...
Avatar f tn From wikipedia- During embryological development, some fetuses may form choroid plexus cysts. These fluid-filled cysts can be detected by a level II ultrasound (18–20 weeks gestation). The finding is relatively common, with a prevalence of ~1%. Choroid plexus cysts (CPC) can be an isolated finding, which confers a 1% (variable based on population studied) risk of fetal aneuploidy. The risk of aneuploidy increases to 10.5-12% if other risk factors or ultrasound findings are noted.
Avatar f tn I do lots of reading when I'm bored..and I came across this. It's just something to keep in mind when you go in..so you'll know what to pay attention to. Week 6 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 4 weeks) 5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually a very good time to detect either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo.
Avatar f tn //www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/pregnancy-week-by-week/expert-answers/low-amniotic-fluid/faq-20057964. Make sure to increase your fluid intake. But you need regular monitoring of the fluid. The down syndrome screening is not related to this and likely when you were given a last ultrasound in which they said you had placenta previa, they checked for the markers that lead to suspicion of downs. You can have the blood tests and they are often routine.
Avatar f tn Your baby (well the average 36 week old anyway) still has a lot of brain growth, lung development, liver development and a whole bunch of other developments that are safer done inside the womb than outside. They are at their optimum at 40 weeks (and a baby born at 42 weeks has better outcomes than the average 38 week old - so even though 37 weeks is technically full term, for most babies, the longer they stay in the better).
Avatar f tn june 28, 2016. Sex all month of july with BF on the 17th of july my one night stand! Doctor said i conceived on the 21st. But i started having nasua and extreme tiredness the day before the 21st and thats what had me suspecting pregnancy. Could it be that guy or my BFs??
Avatar n tn Where to you read or hear that induction causes Autism?
Avatar n tn There isn't anything that you can do if you are in early pregnancy to prevent a miscarriage except to not have sex until you haven't bleed for one week or your doctor gives the ok. Don't lift heavy things and try not to do anything strenuous. I had a subchorionic bleed during my pregnancy that caused me to bleed worse then a period for 5 weeks almost every day. It was a really large one but everything turned out ok and now my daughter is 15 months old.
