Avatar n tn have been on Levaquin for 5 days and 50 mg of Prednisone for 10 days. Now am on Azithromyocin 250 mg daily for 30 days. Just got some Mucinex. This has "wiped" me out . Been in bed for 2 days.Hoping to get stronger soon. I have tried vaporizers . Thought you might be of help. I have had COPD for about 8 years that I know of .Haven't smoked for 18 years. Avatar f tn I was put on a z-pak, prednisone for a sore rib/muscle from coughing, and an inhaler and delsym for the cough. The zpak was the kind where I took a pill for five days, but it would last for ten days, and I'm on day 8 and I still have the same cough I had before (muscle pain too, the prednisone didn't seem to help but that's not the problem). Now I have a runny nose, a sore/tickle-y throat, and I keep sneezing like I have a cold.
Avatar m tn You son was just diagnosed with pneumonia but consistently complains that his feet hurt. He's on antibiotics and all and drinking well. I'm just worried about him saying his feet always hurt. He's a 3 year old boy. Any suggestions or help?
Avatar n tn t a specific diagnosis of what caused the pneumonia. Most pneumonia is infectious, and is most times caused by strep bacteria, so they throw antibiotics at it, and see how the patient responds, there are more aggressive atypical bacterial pneumonia that may require more aggressive treatment, also a persons age, and strength of their immune system is a major factor as well. But there are also viral, fungal, or less commonly parasitic causes of pneumonia.
2048234 tn?1330814100 I have taken prednisone at least on 30 different occasions,(back injury, poison sumac, ivy and pneumonia) full tapers and never ever experienced any type of euphoria. Only side effect was an insane appetite for me. I have taken MASSIVE amounts including injections and honestly 100% never felt anything. You will be fine I promise!!! Take it as the doctor said and take care of your health!!! Feel better!!!
Avatar f tn He now has sharp and constant neck and arm pain. Pain has been going on for two days and is concentrated mostly in the neck, but also on the left side of his forearm; both on his left side. My question, is this a cause for concern? Fever is gone. 31yo/m.
Avatar n tn Besides, after having pneumonia and there being a flu epidemic out there, would you really want to expose your weakened body to that?
Avatar f tn I just checked out of the hospital yesterday, where I was admitted for pneumonia and a high WBC count. When I checked out, I was told my WBC is still too high, and that I'll need to get it checked soon. I'm becoming concerned because even though I left the hospital, I am still incredibly weak and don't have the energy to do anything or go anywhere. I will have to return to work on Monday, and at this point, I don't know if I will have the physical energy.
Avatar m tn To have you on prednisone and Symbicort sounds like overkill to me, since they are both steroids. Since nothing is working try another doctor.
Avatar n tn ve had it a few times its either been asthma and bronchitis and/or pneumonia.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed azithromycin and told to continue with my xopenex and prednisone. I also took cough syrup, sudafed and motrin. Saturday I was significantly worse and over the weekend it esciladed. My temperature would go from 96.2 to 100.5 and back down over a 30min period. Monday I went back to the doctor and she heard "crackling" and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia.
Avatar f tn I took one cipro 500 pill and then decided I needed to see my doctor. I took that at 5PM. My doctor prescribed prednisone and azithromycin. I have checked and seen that there are interactions in taking these drugs together. How long until the cipro 500 is out of my system so I can begin the other antibiotics and prednizone? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I'm a newly diagnosed diabetic (age 67) and am taking 7 days worth of Prednisone for a touch of pneumonia. My blood sugar has gone to 200. Is there something I can do to keep it down (my normal is usually around 120) and am I hurting myself during these 7 days? How high do I let it go before I call for help? Thanks for your help.

Avatar f tn When I was 27, I caught pneumonia, and my right lower lung collapsed. Now I am 52 and still no better. I have been on steroid inhalers ever since Jan. of 93 I cant walk very far because I can't breath. (no, I'm not fat. 140 and 5'8") I have been on prednisone off and on for years. Why did I never get better? Why can't a dr. help me? And yes I have been to specialists.
Avatar f tn I have had allergies for as long as I can remember, and anxiety and panic since I was in middle school. Here lately, my allergies have been crazy bad, and it has caused my anxiety to go through the roof. Today I am doing with post nasal drip with throwing up. I was just looking to see if anyone here can relate to allergies causing your anxiety to skyrocket.
Avatar n tn I recently was diagnose with autoimmune blood disorder in which the Pneumonia and the Flu vaccination triggered the disorder, now various medication was prescribed for this problem. Prednisone was one of the medication prescribed, but I've been off that med for almost 2 weeks. I was aware Prednisone making my Blood Pressure and Sugar erratic. Avatar m tn She has recurrent pneumonia and gets it about every 3 months or so. She always ends up in the ER with problems breathing and then goes on a round of antibiotics, usually zpak and prednisone steroids. She will sometimes get a steriod inhaler to use along with her normal ventolin inhaler. She will gradually get better and be able to breath normal, only to have the symptoms return in a couple of months. Each time she shes a DR she gets different answers.
Avatar f tn Okay, I have both. I am new to all of this, and my rheumy has been saying my pleurisy is a lupus symptom for months. Now, I just saw her last week, and since I said the Plaquenil hasn;t helped my pleurisy yet, she says it's probably the fibromyalgia causing the pleurisy. I have never heard that as a symptom of fibro...... Is this lady "giving up", "guessing" or "correct"......... And when is pleurisy important? When you have fluid in your lungs?
Avatar m tn Thanks for your answers to my question. My daughter was on predinsone (pills) for pneumonia for 10 months and before that she had PKR surgery (not sure that's the right initials). There was a lot back and forth on prednisone drops. When she saw her optomitrist for a contact lens, even though the pressure didn't show that she had glaucoma, the doctor suspected it and sent her to a glaucoma specialist. He confirmed that she did indeed have glaucoma.
Avatar f tn I have a horrible cough. So 5 days ago I went to the Urgent Care and Dr said probably pneumonia. She gave me antibiotics, prednisone, and albuterol. It has been 5 days. The fevers are just higher. They dont even get better with ibuprofen. I can't function. I have small kids. I feel to sick to drive to the doctor. I need help. My cough is a lot better, my chest doesnt hurt as bad but these fevers are killing me. Any ideas? I've never felt so terrible.
Avatar f tn I'm with you - I HATE summer colds especially! I'm sorry you're feeling poorly. I can only speak from my own personal experience and unfortunately, I don't know that that is going to answer your question much, because as with any medication, it's effect can vary from person to person.
Avatar n tn There I was diagnosed with bronchitis and given a Z-Pac antibiotic, a Proventil inhaler, albuterol in a nebulizer and prednisone tablets. After finishing these medications I felt slightly better but still very weak, achy, no energy. I returned to my regular dr on the next visit and rales were heard in my chest with ear pain, headaches. My diagnosis was then bronchitis that turned into pneumonia, double ear infection, sinus infection.
372680 tn?1228161610 Hi, everyone. For those that don't know or don't remember, I'm treebranches and I have idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy (about ten years in limbo). I've been on Lyrica for a while now and it's a miracle drug, allowing me to reclaim my life.
Avatar m tn Unless your dog has a suppressed immune system (autoimmune disorder, on prednisone or chemotherapy etc) then he should be ok. Rest up and drink a lot of fluids.
