I was diagnosed with pneumonia today and I've been getting radiation for my left breast for cancer for the last three weeks. First, did the radiation weaken my lungs to make me getting pneumonia easier? Secondly should I continue with the radiation while taking antibiotics or wait until I'm over the medicine or just the 48 hours that the doctor said I would be contagious?
Hello, I am 31 years old, & I smoked for 17 years, and i quit cold turkey yesterday. I was told Friday I have chronic pneumonia & chronic bronchitis. Today I had a hard time, and so I put a patch on. I am sick to my stomach, I am having a very hard time taking a deep breath still, and I am shaky, and feel horrible. I am on strong anti-biotics for the pneumonia and steroids for the inflamation.
About 10 days after the March 2015 incidents I came down with a type of flu, something I have never before experienced, more like a pneumonia with heavy, wet, coughing and extreme fatigue, a mild fever, but no sore throat, rash, or swollen glands. I lost a great deal of weight and also had a sinus infection requiring antibiotics and then had a mild case of mouth thrush. All this transpired over a period of about 2-3 weeks. All of this could be explained away trough other causes.
Ran into an article in the Journal for the American Academy of Family Practitioners published this month, telling doctors that Levothyroxine is the ONLY valid treatment for hypo and to trust the TSH. I called the Academy and was transferred to the editor of the Journal and advised him of the more current articles (that I published here) conducted and published in Europe and now published by the NIH.

The articles MedHelp has posted will have lists of foods to avoid and foods that r safe...keep a journal so u can see which of the good foods r indeed good 4 u as we r all different and there may be something on the list that may trigger a flare 4 u.

i am 80, healthy and expect to live well past 90(my dad was 102 when he died of pneumonia). i have had two turps, last one in 1995. Have had frequent UTI's due probably to strictures and reduced flow rate. Had two dilations that helped somewhat(temporarily) but now UTI's come more frequently. Urologist wants to do a third dilation. I read that dilations create more strictures. So I am wondering if there are other alternatives.
If you google "yeast infection in urinary tract" you can find medical journal articles that so apparently the answer is yes.

Do not know if i was given antibiotics for bacterial pneumonia or antivirals for viral pneumonia and respiratory syncytial virus, from what i've read those could include ribavirin, tamiflu, relenza, iv antibiotics, amantadine etc. Took an elisa after 6 months of my possible exposure and it came back negative. 1) Does testing under any type of pneumonia viral/bacterial or RSV can give me a false negative?
I checked out the abstracts of the articles written by the first author, Dr. William A. Maxwell. Given the topics chosen, the study's designs, and the statistics used, I'd bet my next paycheck that Dr. Maxwell is a paid consultant for Alcon. If this is indeed true, then Alcon is undoubtedly paying the doctor big bucks (probably more than six figures annually) to design and carry out research which will make their IOLs (especially the "premium" ones) look good.
The way that I usually find physicians for posters in cities/states other than my own is to get a list of likely candidates and cold call their offices and flat-out ask about their knowledge/experience with dysautonomia and their willingness to take on a dysauto patient and address the unique concerns this will entail. Are these two hospitals the main ones for high-risk deliveries in Chicago (I'm just going by what the internet is showing me so I could be off or missing something)?
