Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....

If pneumonia, is this a new pneumonia, a pneumonia condition caused by the flu virus itself, or standard pneumonia(s)? If a standard pneumonia, will a pneumonia shot five years ago give any protection, and/or would one now give any protection? Also, will Tamiflu from 2004 still work?

Dr in ER thought she had Pulmonary Embolism. Her Dr saw her in hospital today and said she has pneumonia and caused her to have blood coming up when she coughed.

Naturally, this was painful, but in March, he started having a fever and bad cough. The chest x ray showed pneumonia in the right lower lobe. Doc gave him a Z pak and he came in for a f/u cxr on 4-15. (I actually did this cxr so I saw myself what looked like he still had pneumonia). First time, the doctor noted traces of pneumonia in his chest and gave him Amox for 10 days. He was fine for another 10 days and got it back. This time, he got better only with IV antibiotics. He was ok for another 10 months with on and off colds, but this time he developed pneumonia again and had to be treated with oral antibiotics. I want to know if there is anyway to help prevent reccurence of pneumonia? Will there be any damage to his lungs because of reccurence of pneumonia?

I was last week and I'm 5 months whatever you do don't take aleeve I did on accident and that one your not suppose to take. My doctor said most cold medicines are okay like mucinex and tylenol.

My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. I'm a 32 year old male in Canada. I'm 185lb,5'9". I've had a dull chest pain on my left side right under my armpit area and around to the center of the chesty for the past 4 months. I've been ignoring it as it was such a dull pain I'd almost call it a sensation instead of pain. So I had the flu last week as did my whole family. I was hit hard, very weak, major headache, neck and back ache, fever. Never developed much coughing but felt a bit phlegm.

I probably should have put this on the autism forum, but since I know most every one here, and we all have more in common I felt more comfortable just venting here. I am sorry for not keeping in touch the past few weeks. first week pneumonia, second approved for chemo, third no chemo, forth no chem. I was in the hospital from Jan. 17-23 Pneumonia in my Left "lobular pneumonia" here we are now on Feb 20, 2022 and my left rib cage feels like someone hit me hard there.. but my 02 is in the mid 90%.. but it really hurts to cough sneeze as you say burp.. which sucks because I am supposed to be trying to cough up remnants of the phlegm, But coughing is painful so tend to try to suppress it.. I have a Lung cancer screen CT this Tues the 22..

I went to an emergency room, major city in Texas. I self-diagnosed as pneumonia; first thing they did was chest X Ray. I would insist on a chest X Ray. I think the stabbing pain MAY be due to the severeness of the cough. I read it can bruise ribs and in rare cases break them. Phys assistant seemed to dismiss the pain. An aide at the hospital mentioned that fumes & particles from "cement plants" in this area seem to irritate non-natives much more than natives....

What do you mean, what to do? Is this you or a loved one? They will treat the pneumonia. Is she in the hospital?

It showed pneumonia in the bottom of both lungs.. I took cipiro for 2 weeks...Felt better now Im coughing bad and coughing up yellow phelghm. New xrays showed nothing.Whats going on?
