Percocet withdrawal pain

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet withdrawal pain

percocet

Avatar f tn It is possible that you will have withdrawal symptoms when you quit taking Percocet. Even if it is for short period of time that you take it. Our bodies and minds have long memories. I had been clean for about a year from taking Roxicodone, when I broke my leg and had to have surgery. I had to take pain pills for a little while. I was not taking Roxicodone, but something much milder.
Avatar f tn /day) but am still taking percocet once or twice a day for pain. I still need it for the pain. I have been having digestive problems so thats way I went off the long acting. Is my body going to get it's energy back and withdraw properly when I'm still taking percocet occassionally or am I just going to continue to feel like **** all the time going in and out of withdrawal????
Avatar f tn How is your pain right now from the injury? I can not believe they sent you home with percocet knowing your addiction to opiates?? You need to get off these quick before it spirals again. Ask your doc for a nonnarcotic pain medication like naxopren or something. Than get back on suboxone if that worked so well for you- I believe it saved my life personally! :) However, first off make sure you do this all throuhg a doctor and second off I would only suggest suboxone treatment for short term.
Avatar f tn t get into a doctor soon enough and even with 8 months of pain management records, the local ER gave me 1 days worth of 30% of my dose - for care over the next month while I waited to get into a local pain management doctor, I was referred to a methadone maintaince clinic for PAIN MANAGEMENT... All thanks to the failed war on drugs.
Avatar f tn I have been on all kinds of meds like neurontin, lyrica, etc. The only thing that relieves the pain is percocet. I take 6-8 10/325's a day. I called yesterday to get my refil and my doctor's office called back saying no script until Feb. 11 and then when I pick it up, she wants me to get a urine drug test. Didn't think I was addicted, but certainly a wake-up call. I am now down to only 24 pills and can't get a script for 8 days. Bleck. I started tapering yesterday.
Avatar m tn Are you finding comfort with OTC med for your pain as you could be experiencing both real pain from the fibro and withdrawals which would make you feel more frustrated.
Avatar m tn what is the difference betweed norco and percocet. please include withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn I'm going through the same thing right now, I took my last Oxy 5hrs ago and I have been on 120-160mg oxycodne plus 40mg oxycontin for the last 9yrs. I hear that tapering off is the best way, but as a former addict to coke i see it as i could never just do alittle coke so I don't see how I could do alittle oxy, but thats just me and i'm gonna do it cold turkey.
Avatar m tn I was addicted to speed as a teen and quit that and then at about age 30 I fell into pain meds. Really any pain meds I could get my hands on. At this point I have been going to a pain clinic for a condition that is not really there to get the meds and then when I run out of those I an getting them off the street, I am up to 4 30mg tablets a day. When I found the 30mg on the street I lost controll even snorting them now instead of taking them.
Avatar f tn Yes. The clonidine is a med for hypertension and is used quite often for opiate withdrawal with excellent results. It's not to be taken with Percocet per se'. Percocet is,of course, a prn med so it is just not often that those two would be used together. I know you'd like the doctor to help you. Have you been completely honest about the amount of Percocet you take per day? Have you told him/her you're addicted?
Avatar f tn Yes,Ultram is a synthetic opiate. That's why it helped withdrawals. It's highly abused and prescribed. It also contains an antidepressant similar to Effexor. Now you know... Okay...It sounds to me like you've got some tolerance built up with the Percocet. You could ask the doctor for a different pain med that is longer lasting. As it is,you're already going over your limit. I can suggest takig Motrin 800bg 3x per day with the Percocet. Also, take only 2 tabs at a time.
Avatar f tn For one, NO dental issue should require pain meds for a year. The answer to dental pain is always to fix the problem. I'm amazed at how many people (addiction issues or not) think they HAVE to have a narcotic after dental work. I've had extensive dental procedures and have never been Rx'ed a narcotic for pain. Motrin and tylenol always keeps me comfortable. The pain BEFORE a problem is fixed absolutely can be horrible, which again is why the answer is to fix the problem.
Avatar m tn I'm I having withdrawl or not I stopped taking percocet 40 hrs ago and lying in bed tonight my hands and shoulders were aching so bad I was tossing and turning I got up and took 2 10's Percocet and 1 10 Oxycontin and now I'll spend the rest of the night in my recliner , The question is, is my pain a reaction to stopping the Percocet . I've gone through this time and time again only to have the pain over whelm me .
Avatar n tn I have been reading many of the posts here and feeling so scared about the dreadful withdrawal and suffering that goes on. I have a chronic pain condition and have been taking percocet for 1.5 years, I know I already have a dependency as I feel the withdrawal symptoms when I do not take it. I have just started lyrica and hope that it decreases my pain to the point that I can get off the percocet entirely.
Avatar n tn i am almost six months pregnant i have been on oxycodone 30 mg three to four pills a day for five years ive been on the oxycodone my entire pregnacy i was tld by my primary care doctor that percocet is the only pain med that safe for my fetus i dont understand how its not affecting my baby ive tried to quit and i not only go through withdrawl but they withdrawl is horrible i get really bad stomach cramps as well as diarrhea how do i taper myself down to the point where i no longer going through
Avatar n tn It is common to wake up with nausea during opiate withdrawal. However, you say you want to get off of percocet too. I'm assuming that you are still taking percocet, are you taking through a doctor as prescriped or off the streets, big difference. And how many are you taking a day??? I know when i was addicted to hydro's and percs my withdrawal would start about 4-6 hours after my last dosage.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed tramadol and percocet for back pain for about 7 months. I took 2-4 tramadol 50mg a day and 1-2 5/325 percocet at night. Less back pain caused me to dial back on the pills til I am at 1 of each a day. Last week I did not take tramadol at all and began to feel achy all over and tired. I took the pill. Yesterday, I took no tramadol again and had all the symptoms I see described here--restless all over, unable to sleep, achy, etc.
